The flight attendant instructed us, "In case of an emergency put your oxygen mask on first then assist those around you." In a real emergency we would never say, "I will not put on my oxygen mask unless my wife puts hers on first." So why then do we say that in our marriage? When it comes to emergencies in our marriage the process is the same, "Draw a circle around yourself and fix what's in the circle before you try to fix those around you."
