Nobody likes the word "religion" these days. Secular people often say they are “spiritual not religious.” We Evangelicals have a similar but distinct motto of our own: “Christianity is not a religion; it’s a relationship.” Sure, Christianity is about our relationship with God. But, in the Bible, why does God seem to go to such great lengths to make that relationship very...religious? You can hardly open a page of Scripture without running into priests and temples, ceremonies and sacrifices, prayers and prophecies, covenants and commandments. What's going on? Are we actually supposed to be religious? If so, how? Or, are we already unconsciously religious, just in the wrong ways? If religion is inevitable and we can't just throw it out the window, how do we trade our accidental false religions for a true one? And what does the Bible have to say about all this? That's what this episode is about. Hope you enjoy!
