Psalm 55:1-22
David is under a full frontal attack in this passage and the weapons of war are words. But we’re surprised to find that David’s attacker is his close friend!
(vs 12-14; 20-21)
Being wounded by a friend is a big problem. But the bigger problem is some people never heal from the wounds. And when we don’t heal from the wounds, they get deeper or we develop new wounds… or worse yet, we begin wounding other people!
Hurting people hurt people.
How do we, as brothers and sisters, who will occasionally hurt one another, deal with the hurt?
· Refuse to throw the spear!
· We tend to look at life more through our mortal eyes than our eternal, spiritual eyes.
(Acts 15:36-41; 2 Timothy 4:9-11; Matthew 5:23-24)
