You can’t just raise blockers and let them sit there.  Makes sense right?  But how often do we let impediments linger for days, weeks, months?

Or raise a critical performance issue in retrospective, and then do exactly nothing about it?

Scrum dictates that we must raise blockers and ‘do betters’, but doesn’t teach us how to aggressively - even ruthlessly - attack them. You need to teach teams had a storm around a problem

  • Write for the wastebasket.
  • Set a time limit.
  • Let people flock to the problems that matter to them.
  • Don't solve the entire problem… Come up with 3 to 5 next steps that will move you closer to solution.
  • Be willing to fail.
