Shane Claiborne is a prominent speaker, activist, and best-selling author. Shane is a champion for grace which has led him to some of the most troubled regions of the world – from Rwanda to the West Bank – and he’s been on peace delegations in Afghanistan and Iraq. Now grace fuels his passion to end the death penalty and help stop gun violence.
Together with his friend Tony Campolo, Shane heads up Red Letter Christians, a movement of Christians committed to living out the Gospels "as if Jesus actually meant what He said". Shane is also the visionary founder of The Simple Way, an organization in inner city Philadelphia that has helped birth and connect radical faith communities around the world.
Shane writes and travels extensively speaking about peacemaking, social justice, and Jesus. His books include Jesus for President, Red Letter Revolution, Common Prayer, Follow Me to Freedom, Jesus, Bombs and Ice Cream, Becoming the Answer to Our Prayers, Executing Grace, his classic The Irresistible Revolution, and his newest book,Beating Guns. He has been featured far and wide in a number of films, TV programs, magazines, and news outlets, including Another World Is Possible, Ordinary Radicals,Esquire, SPIN, Christianity Today, TIME, The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Fox News, Al Jazeera, CNN, and NPR. In short, Shane's life has inspired and challenged many non-believers and Christians to consider a more simple, yet abundant way of living.
