“Pray Fervently” Psalm 46 October 27, 2019

What if God would decide to use a group of people like us to accomplish His purpose?

“. . . to produce well-educated Native American Christian leaders who will positively affect their communities and culture.”

“Mission Creep” - when other agendas and causes creep in to take over the primary focus.

Trying to affect change by discipling individuals and families who will disciple others take a long time.

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” -Matthew 28:18-20

The long-term effectiveness of a church is not primarily based on what they do, but on who they are.

“. . . go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” -Matthew 28:19-20

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” -John 13:34-35

“Count Me In” - remembering who we are and why we’re here.

Entering into a life of training.

As we engage in these practice, they are changing us in ways we may not see at the time.

When we engage in the practice of prayer we learn to slow down.

Hurry is an enemy of a life well-lived.

“Be still, and know that I am God .” -Psalm 46:10

Acts 1

Slowing down may not be the purpose of prayer, but as we engage in prayer we learn a different rhythm.

Don’t just pray, stop and pray.
