This season, I welcome Shlomo Chopp, Managing Partner at Terra Strategies.

Shlomo Chopp is a commercial real estate innovator and expert on distress with more than 20 years of experience.

Chopp is Managing Partner at Terra Strategies, an asset management firm he founded in 2023 to capitalize on distressed investment opportunities. The firm employs novel strategies leveraging knowledge across both the CMBS and property sectors.

Chopp began his career in 2003 working for a proptech firm before transitioning to deal making and acquisitions – roles that helped hone his finance and unique problem-solving skills. In 2010, he founded the distressed debt consulting firm Case Property Services. Chopp’s deep experience in the field of CMBS has helped borrowers/guarantors navigate this highly complex process, resulting in loan modifications and discounted payoffs that staved off foreclosure. Chopp has used his nuanced understanding of distressed situations to acquire and turnaround underperforming real estate assets.

In 2017, Chopp developed the now triple-patented retailOS platform, a multi-channel ecosystem that blends e-commerce, retail and fulfillment. Chopp was named 2022 Retail Technology Innovation Hub (RTIH) Top 100 Retail Technology Influencers and 2022 and 2023 RETHINK RETAIL Top Retail Influencers.
