BATTLE READY VOLUME 1 " Fundamentals "
By Pastor Brandon Dirmann Matthew 22:34-40 (NKJV) - But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Were in a series “BATTLE READY“ and we have been talking about the FUNDAMENTALS of being equipped.
Each week we have been talking about a different fundamental that we need. No matter how spiritual we are or how much we think we know. If the fundamentals are not in place we won’t make it. I WANT TO TALK TONIGHT ABOUT OUR HEART (Not our actual organ, but the control center for our whole life) Ever played capture the flag before? What is the goal/responsibility? In the same way that when you play capture the flag your goal and your responsibility is to guard your flag and not allow it to be captured I want for you to see tonight that it is your responsibility to protect your heart. Matthew 22:34-40
Jesus says in this passage that what He is really after is our HEART (To love the Lord with all of our HEART) LOVE is not an action only, but it is a full devotion to someone or something. Jesus says the number one thing that God is looking for is for us to fully devote ourselves to Him and set our affection on Him.
HOW DO I PRODUCE A FEELING?
Feelings follow decisions (Unintentional or intentional decisions direct) (EX) – I unintentionally started having feelings for my wife on the bus ride home from camp //(EX) – I intentionally fell in love with my wife as I pursued her and went after her.
Matthew 6:21 – Where your treasure is there your heart will be also // YOU’RE THE LEADER! We have to take responsibility to put our treasure into the things of God and our heart will follow YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for your heart!! NOBODY ELSE…
Proverbs 4:23 – Above all else we are to be guarding our heart (Eyes, ears, thoughts, words, friends) We have to not just guard what is going into our heart but we also have to guard what is in our heart How we guard our heart directly determines what our life produces (Matthew 12:34-35)
Mark 4:14 – Jesus in this parable about how everything works says that the sower sows the word If you are not hearing the Word, having the word sown in your heart, you are not even in the parable We are responsible to be feeding out heart with the Word of God // What you feed on determines Galatians 6:7 – Do not be deceived, whatever a man sows that He will also reap.
CLOSE – HOW ARE YOU DOING guarding your heart? How can you better guard your heart?

Scriptures (All NKJV): Colossians 4:17 - And say to Archippus, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.” 2 Corinthians 5:20 - Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:9-10 - Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Romans 12:6-7 - Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;
1 Timothy 4:12 - Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Scriptures (All NKJV) Mark 1:35-39 - Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. 36 And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him. 37 When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.” 38 But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.” 39 And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons. John 13:15 - For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Luke 4:14 - Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. Romans 12:2 - And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Scriptures
Luke 9:1-6 (NKJV) - Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2 He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3 And He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece. 4 “Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. 5 And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.” 6 So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.
Mark 6:7-12 (NKJV) - And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits. 8 He commanded them to take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bag, no bread, no copper in their money belts— 9 but to wear sandals, and not to put on two tunics. 10 Also He said to them, “In whatever place you enter a house, stay there till you depart from that place. 11 And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!” 12 So they went out and preached that people should repent.
Matthew 10: 1, 5-10 (NKJV) - And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. 5 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. 9 Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, 10 nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.
Hebrews 10:24-25 (TPT) - Discover creative ways to encourage others and to motivate them toward acts of compassion, doing beautiful works as expressions of love. 25 This is not the time to pull away and neglect meeting together, as some have formed the habit of doing. In fact, we should come together even more frequently, eager to encourage and urge each other onward as we anticipate that day dawning.
Message Points Jesus will empower and equip you before He sends you. Jesus will not send you alone. Jesus will provide everything you need for the journey. We first need to step out in faith and obedience to God's Word.

John 8:36 - So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Romans 8:23 - Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.
John 14:3 - And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Romans 6:14 - For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
Romans 7:18-19 - For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.
James 4:7 - Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Exodus 2:23 - During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God.
Exodus 16:3 - The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.”

Scriptures (All NKJV):
Luke 24:46-49 - Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things. 49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
John 14:15-17 - “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
John 14:26 - But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
John 15:26 - “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
John 16:7 - Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
Acts 1:4 - And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me.
Acts 2:1-4 - When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Mark 16:17 - And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.
Romans 8:26-27 - Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Scriptures (All NKJV):
1 Samuel 3:19-21 - So Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. 20 And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel had been established as a prophet of the Lord. 21 Then the Lord appeared again in Shiloh. For the Lord revealed Himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the Lord.
1 Samuel 4:1 - And the word of Samuel came to all Israel.
1 Samuel 15:26-29 - But Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.” 27 And as Samuel turned around to go away, Saul seized the edge of his robe, and it tore. 28 So Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you. 29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He is not a man, that He should relent.”
1 Samuel 16:7-13 - But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 8 So Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, “Neither has the Lord chosen this one.” 9 Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said, “Neither has the Lord chosen this one.” 10 Thus Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, “The Lord has not chosen these.” 11 And Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, “There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here.” 12 So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!” 13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.

Scriptures (All NKJV):
1 Samuel 2:18 - But Samuel ministered before the Lord, even as a child, wearing a linen ephod.
1 Samuel 2:26 - And the child Samuel grew in stature, and in favor both with the Lord and men.
1 Samuel 3:1-10 - Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation. 2 And it came to pass at that time, while Eli was lying down in his place, and when his eyes had begun to grow so dim that he could not see, 3 and before the lamp of God went out in the tabernacle of the Lord where the ark of God was, and while Samuel was lying down, 4 that the Lord called Samuel. And he answered, “Here I am!” 5 So he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” And he said, “I did not call; lie down again.” And he went and lay down. 6 Then the Lord called yet again, “Samuel!” So Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” He answered, “I did not call, my son; lie down again.” 7 (Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, nor was the word of the Lord yet revealed to him.) 8 And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. So he arose and went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you did call me.” Then Eli perceived that the Lord had called the boy. 9 Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, ‘Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.’ ” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 10 Now the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant hears.”

21 And He strictly warned and commanded them to tell this to no one, 22 saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.”
23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. 24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. 25 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? 26 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels. John 8:31-32 - Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

I am A Child of God He speaks to me And I hear His voice So, I open my heart To hear God speak Through His word today
Romans 12:3-8 (NLT) - Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. 4 Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, 5 so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. 6 In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. 7 If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. 8 If your gift is to encourageothers, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
Example: Have you ever met a person who always wants to know what is going on? They are always asking questions to get more information. Who, What, when, why, and how, even when it has nothing to do with them? We would call that person
NOSY: As an adjective: showing too much curiosity about other people's affairs. Example: Nosy neighbors who always want to see and know what is going on in your house. Synonyms: prying, inquisitive, curious, busybody, probing, spying, eavesdropping, intrusive, snooping, snoopy As a verb: pry into something. What do you tell a NOSY person to do? MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS
There is no room for comparison. The time is short, we need everyone, we need every gift. We need One body fully functioning with Jesus Christ as the Head if we want to see the world take notice and a great awakening happen in our lifetime!
Many of us have substituted the call of God on our lives for secular careers
You’ve decided to be a: lawyer - pay is great, prestige is great. But God gave you your particular gift to be an apologist and vigorously defend and uphold the faith. You can be a lawyer and defend people, but let’s not forget the priority is never money, the priority is the king and His Kingdom! Doctor – pay is great, prestige is great. But God gave you His Spirit so that you can lay hands on the sick and see them recover. You can be a doctor, but don’t forget that it’s not simply your education, training, and knowledge of the human body, but the power of God demonstrated through your submission the will of God for your life! Venture Capitalist – pay is great, the prestige is great, But God wants to give you divine insight on where to invest capital to generate profit and fund missionaries and church plants all over the world. You can be a venture capitalist, but don’t forget that the ability to identify where to invest in to turn
Romans 12:1-2 (NLT) - And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 6:12-13 - Do not let sin control the way you live; [a] do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 5:17 – This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! Romans 12:2 –(Because of this) Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
1 Corinthians 12:12-27 - The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. 13 Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit. 14 Yes, the body has many different parts, not just one part. 15 If the foot says, “I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,” that does not make it any less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear says, “I am not part of the body because I am not an eye,” would that make it any less a part of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear? Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything? 18 But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it. 19 How strange a body would be if it had only one part! 20 Yes, there are many parts, but only one body.
21 The eye can never say to the hand, “I don’t need you.” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you.” 22 In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary. 23 And the parts we regard as less honorable are those we clothe with the greatest care. So we carefully protect those parts that should not be seen, 24 while the more honorable parts do not require this special care. So God has put the body together such that extra honor and care are given to those parts that have less dignity. 25 This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. 26 If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. 27 All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.

31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” 32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. 33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
Galatians 2:6-8 - But from those who seemed to be something—whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows personal favoritism to no man—for those who seemed to be something added nothing to me. 7 But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter 8 (for He who worked effectively in Peter for the apostleship to the circumcised also worked effectively in me toward the Gentiles),
Acts 10:34-35 - Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. 35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.
Romans 10:17 - So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
James 2:17 - Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Scriptures (All NKJV):
9 And there he went into a cave, and spent the night in that place; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 10 So he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.” 11 Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. 13 So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
14 And he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; because the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.” 15 Then the Lord said to him: “Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria. 16 Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place. 17 It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill. 18 Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”

Scriptures (All NKJV):
Matthew 4:19 - Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Matthew 14:22-31 - Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. 23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. 24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. 25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
Matthew 17:20 - So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Isaiah 61:1-4 - “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” 4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 - And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Matthew 16:13-19 - When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” 14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not [a]prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth [b]will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”
31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”
32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. 33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
35 While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”
36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” 37 And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. 38 Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly. 39 When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.”
40 And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. 41 Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” 42 Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement. 43 But He commanded them strictly that no one should know it, and said that something should be given her to eat.
Romans 5:1-2 - Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 - For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.
2 Timothy 4:3-5 - For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. 5 As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

7 Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, helped the people to understand the Law; and the people stood in their place. 8 So they read distinctly from the book, in the Law of God; and they gave the sense, and helped them to understand the reading. 9 And Nehemiah, who was the governor, Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, “This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn nor weep.” For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the Law. 10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” 11 So the Levites quieted all the people, saying, “Be still, for the day is holy; do not be grieved.” 12 And all the people went their way to eat and drink, to send portions and rejoice greatly, because they understood the words that were declared to them.

5 Samuel replied, “Yes, in peace; I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me.” Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.6 When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, “Surely the Lord’s anointed stands here before the Lord.” 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 8 Then Jesse called Abinadab and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, “The Lord has not chosen this one either.” 9 Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said, “Nor has the Lord chosen this one.”
10 Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, “The Lord has not chosen these.” 11 So he asked Jesse, “Are these all the sons you have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.” Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.” 12 So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features. Then the Lord said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.” 13 So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Ramah.

They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.

We started this series last week about being not just a believer in Jesus, but being a disciple (follower of teachings/teacher)
We said last week that Jesus is not primarily interested in us believers (Even the demons believe) but in us being disciples. Disciple = Student who is a learner; one who follows both the teachings and the teacher. We talked about last week how being a disciple requires you and I to deny ourselves, take us our cross, and follow Jesus As we continue in our series I want to talk about what Jesus is really looking for (He is looking for our heart) Matthew 16:24-25 (NKJV) -"Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." Matthew 22:36-38 (NKJV) - "“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment."

I remember when we were in High School we were kind of obsessed with each other, I mean mostly her obviously you can see why. (EX) - Like we would hang out together, and then we would get home and call each other and talk way too long (EX) - At school we would see each other before class, we would try in between, and then after class. (EX) - The craziest thing though is that we write each other notes during class (WOWZERS, this is before texting) I loved Jenny, she had my heart, my emotions, and definitely my mind and my thinking
THIS IS WHAT JESUS SAYS THAT GOD WANTS OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM TO LOOK LIKE
Jesus says that the first and greatest commandment is to "LOVE" the Lord our God with all of our heart, our soul, and mind The word love is a "verb", that means it is an action. Love that is more than just a feeling or an idea, but proved in living. Heart means passion, soul is our emotions, and mind is our thinking (Jesus wants us all wrapped up in Him and His ways) It's not that God wants to be our "EVERYTHING", it's that God wants to be our first and our most precious thing Exodus 20:3 - God says that we should have no other gods before Him. Matthew 6:33 - Jesus says that we should SEEK FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (EX) - This is why I REGRET dating Jenny in High School, because she took the place of where God should have been.
? SO HOW DO I DO THAT ?
God wants my passion and my heart. But what if my passion and my heart is not for God?
JESUS GIVE YOU AND I THE "BLUES CLUES" in Matthew 16:24 when He says, "FOLLOW ME" // Matthew 6:1 tells us that our passion follows where and what we follow. Makes me think of the disciples and how after following Jesus he became their everything.

We are starting a NEW series going into the New Year called "Set Apart", talking about being called to be "Set Apart".
I don't know if you have noticed, but we are living in a crazy day and age. The days we are living in are not normal. They are dark and evil is all around us. GOOD NEWS is that the Bible says when the days get dark that is when God's light will shine the brightest. Joshua 3:5 - "And Joshua said to the people, "Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you." The Bible tells us that as we set ourselves apart we are setting ourselves up to be used by God in a powerful way. As we start this series, we are going to start by talking about IDENTITY.
We all act different in front of other people, different than we do when we are by ourselves or just around our family or friends. For example, my daughter Evelyn is so goofy and crazy when she is just at home (But around other people she gets shy) (EX) - If she is doing something crazy and I get camera out she is like, nope, but she films selfies on our phones. This is all of us, we have a public persona and one that is different at home // good and bad because boundaries.
I think the problem with being SET APART is that we think of it as becoming something else rather than just being who we are. 1 Corinthians 15:9-10 - "For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." The Apostle Paul says that even though he is the least worthy to be a leader, he is who he is by the GRACE OF GOD (Not behavior). Grace = Undeserved, unmerited, love, blessing, and favor of God poured our because of what Jesus has done. Who was Paul? Paul was loved, forgiven, righteous, called, and chosen by God!! That's who Paul was and that's who you are. 2 Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." Just like Paul, we are who we are by the grace of God. // Who are we? Like Paul was we are.
None of these things because of what we have or haven't done, but because of the grace of God that has been poured out upon our life in the finished work of Jesus.
When you realize this is who you are and receive this as your identity then being set apart is something you want. Paul says that God's grace was not in vain towards Him, but it motivated him to work even harder. Not in his own efforts, but by the grace of God!!
CLOSE - If this is who I am, then why don't I look like that? Because you are all dirty, the dust of the world is on you.
This is why we are doing prayer and fasting, you should join.
PRAYER POINTS: Light to invade darkness Healing to come Unity to prevail Revival to breakout James 3:13-18 - "Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace."

"No Need For New Year"
The heart behind this message is that we would be prepared for whatever the New Year brings rather than depending on New Year. How well are you doing seeking God and growing in Jesus on your own? If 2021 gets worse, rather than getting better, would you be prepared to thrive? Or would you barely survive?
The writer of Proverbs is speaking to the lazy part of every one of us. Laziness = is not the absence of activity but rather not doing what one should be doing when they should be doing it. To that lazy part of each one of us the writer of Proverbs says take a lesson from the ants. Why the ants? Because having no leader telling them what to do they gather al summer in order to provide for the winter.
I want to from this Proverb pose 3 questions as it relates to your Spiritual life?
First lesson to learn from the ants is that they don't have to be told
Not needing anyone to tell them or encourage them they work to gather what they need.
What does it mean to pursue God? Pray, worship, and be quiet before Him Ready, study, and memorize His Word Live in obedience to His Will and Ways. Engage in church, community, and evangelism.
Second lesson to learn from the ants is to prepare for what's ahead
Not needing the extra food RIGHT NOW, the ants work and labor, storing up for when they will need it in the winter. Ecclesiastes 12:1 (NLT) - Don't let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor Him in your youth before you grow old and say, "Life is not pleasant anymore." We have to fight the temptation to only live for RIGHT NOW but rathe to live PREPARED for the future.
Third lesson we learn is the winter is coming and will touch us all.
A little bit of sleep, a little bit of slumber, so your poverty and your need will come upon you like an armed robber. Life will touch us all and if we have not strengthened ourselves in the Lord it will take us out.

Tonight we are finishing the series called STEPPING INTO THE KINGDOM, talking about the Kingdom of God and how Jesus has come to give us freedom. Tonight I want to talk about the importance and the power of RESPONSE and OPENING YOUR MOUTH and responding to God James 5:13-16 (NKJV) - Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
James is a book written to the church about ACTUAL & PRACTICAL OBEDIENCE
This book is written to those who use the grace of God and the forgiveness Jesus has to offer as a reason and an excuse to not fully obey and fully do what God has commanded his followers to do. James 2:17 (NKJV) - Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
In James 5:13-16 (The verses we read) James is encouraging response to God: V13 – Are you suffering, then RESOND TO GOD IN PRAYER // Are you cheerful, then respond to God with praise V14 – Are you sick, then respond to God by calling for the leaders of the church to pray for you because V15 – the Prayer of faith saves V16 – Confess your trespass and pray for each other not so that you can be forgiven but so that you can be healed.
That’s what I really want to talk about tonight, our need to open up our lives and be vulnerable in responding to God when He gives an invitation through initiation.
All through the Bible we see response is required and is a prerequisite for God Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) – If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. The scriptures we read tonight in James shows us that no matter your situation response is requiresd. (EX) – There is nothing worse than a text message you know was read but didn’t get responded to. Remember, your read receipts are always on with God.
All of the scripture we read in James are all in the context of CHURCH COMMUNITY. Why? Because there is no power in the world/unbeliever. Hebrews 10:24-25 – And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Ecclesiastes 4:12 – Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Your BEST FRIENDS and closest CONFIDANTS should be inside the walls of the church God has called and placed you in.
Its only when we respond to God that the supernatural power of God is released to bring healing and deliverance James 5:16 (NKJV) - Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV) – For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

This week as we are continuing in our study we are going to talk about the second step in freedom and that is to RENOUNCE & REJECT. Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV) - Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Matthew 12:43-45 (NKJV) - “When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, seeking rest but finding none. Then it says, ‘I will return to the person I came from.’ So it returns and finds its former home empty, swept, and in order. Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before. That will be the experience of this evil generation.”
After we have repented/released sin/un-forgiveness and are clean the enemy is looking for a way back in. The reality is that many people, even Christians, both intentionally and accidentally leave doors open for demonic oppression to come into their lives. Demons will oppress anyone who lets them in. All throughout Jesus’s 3 years of doing ministry he encounter hundreds and thousands of people who were under the influence and effect of the demonic and although it’s easy to look at the Bible as staff that happened a long time ago the truth is that there is still demonic activity in the world today. Renounce = To verbally reject that which is demonic and destructive. We must verbally reject any authority given to the demonic and declare that our lives are exclusively submitted and surrendered to the authority of Jesus. Renouncing is getting out what what shouldn’t be in your life. So many of us know what it means to get free but we don’t know how to stay free so we find ourselves in this repetitive pattern of breakthrough and breakdown. Good for a few months and then we fall back into the junk we were in before. THIS IS NOT WHAT JESUS MODELED FOR US ON EARTH AND THIS IS NOT WHAT JESUS DIED FOR ON THE CROSS.
Here are some, but not all of the commons ways we leave doors open to the demonic’s destructive oppression in our lives: pornography, witchcraft (normalizing witchcraft Harry Potter, tell story of dream catchers), psychics, drugs, alcoholism, false religions, false beliefs, social media and even secular music.
Do any of these sound familiar? Do you feel a nudging from the Holy Spirit highlighting one or multiple of these areas to you? The things you DO, SAY and BELIEVE can open your life to demonic oppression. DO - things you watch, listen to, take part in: drugs, alcoholism, adultery SAY - things you say over yourself, others and about God. Ex: “I am hopeless” Believe - I believe that God doesn’t love me and has abandoned me. There are so many examples for each of these areas but let’s look into some greater detail about how what we say can lead to demonic oppression specifically regarding giving disfunction an honorable name & the contract making power of our words. Matthew 18:19 (NKJV) - “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
When we give disfunction or demonic oppression an honorable name we only invite that disfunction/oppression to remain in our lives. We do not need to be afraid of the demonic, we serve a strong and mighty God who is not intimated nor afraid of demons so neither should we, but we do need to be intentional to rid our lives of all demonic influence. John 10:10 and Jeremiah 29:11 tells of the life that Jesus desires and plans for us. Reject = Simply means that you are saying no to everything that is not of God in order to say yes to everything that is of God. Rejecting is keeping out what should never be in your life. Saying no to everything that is not of God is much easier when you have things from God to say yes to. Ex: just like bullets in a gun are more effective than a gun with no ammo so are our lives when we are already loaded with the word of God. Give the Holy Spirit something to work with. Life with Jesus isn’t a life full of no’s, it is a life of one big yes! That one yes answers every other question and allows you to easily reject and accept whatever comes your way. I can easily say no to becoming a very profitable drug dealer because I know what God has called me to. MY YES IS BIGGER THAN THE ENEMIES WEAK TEMPTATIONS. We then have to reject every and any temptation or open door the enemy would want us to give him and fully say YES to living for Christ. Proverbs 4:23 NKJV YOUR HEART IS WORTH GUARDING!! 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NKJV) - For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
HOW DO WE DO THIS PRACTICALLY:
(1) Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal and help you to have eyes to see. God will only expose open doors so that he can help you close it. He will never shame you.
(2) Make a note of, write down, be aware of those open doors and temptations Don’t rely on your ability to remember everything. Write things down so you can be accountable to closing and keeping closed those doors.
(3) Verbally renounce and reject Our renouncing and rejecting is most effective when our words and heart are aligned with God’s word and heart. Declare scripture as you renounce and reject. John 15:7 is the key a life of answered prayers.
(4) Fill The House Matthew 12:43-45 (NKJV) - "When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44 Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.” The great tragedy of this story in Matthew 12 is that the demons returned not because the house was clean, but because it wasn’t full. We can’t settled for a cleaned up life, we needed a transformed life full of the things of God. Don’t just reject and get rid of the bad, but fill up on the Godly things.
(5) Invite the Holy Spirit to help you live for Jesus. The Holy Spirit is your constant help. You are not walking through this life alone, God will always come to your rescue and help lead you out of destruction and into grace!

"STEPPING INTO THE KINGDOM" is about the Kingdom of God and fully stepping in.
We have talked about what the Kingdom of God is, how to fully step into it, and what Kingdom fellowship is really all about. THIS WEEK as we continue we're going to start talking about KINGDOM FREEDOM Galatians 5:1 - Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
John 8:36 - Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. We have been fully and freely set free from anything and everything that would hold us by the power of Jesus. Sin, its grip, and its consequences have been broken and now the chains are gone and the prison door is open. Jesus did not come to help the captives cope; He came to set the captives free. Life in the Kingdom is not defined by bad things we've done or the bad things others have done to us. Life in the Kingdom is defined by the great things God has done for us in Christ - Pg. 58 from the "Stepping Into The Kingdom" book.
? THEN WHY DO I NOT FEEL FREE ?
Romans 6:11-13 (NKJV) - Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. We have to walk out the freedom that we have been given by making an active choice to by faith live in the freedom Jesus has provided. This is both by faith but also something we do practically by making choices that guard ourselves and intentionally are God centered. When Israel fought, victory was miraculously attained and maintained. When Israel didn't fight, oppression and slavery eventually set back in - Pg. 59 from the "Stepping Into The Kingdom" book. 1 Corinthians 10:13 - No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. We must recognize that while freedom can be attained in a moment, it must be maintained over the course of a lifetime. This freedom is something we are granted by grace but are responsible to steward by the truth and power of the Word and the Spirit.
? HOW DO I FIGHT THIS BATTLE ?
Ephesians 6:10-13 - Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:17 - And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; The battle we are in is a spiritual battle and is a battle of words. We have to BE STRONG IN GOD and also use the word of God as our weapon.
YOU can be FREE in Jesus from anything and everything as you receive that freedom by faith and walk in it through obedience to God's Word.

We are in a series using the book "Stepping Into The Kingdom", helping us GROW This series about the Kingdom of God and fully stepping into it LAST week we talked about WHAT the Kingdom of God is and HOW we step into it (Experience full freedom under God's rule) We talked about three essential steps. 1) Salvation / 2) Water Baptism / 3) The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
TONIGHT as we continue we are going to talk about THE CHURCH CHURCH is not a building, CHURCH is not a program, CHURCH is not a product. CHURCH IS A PEOPLE CHURCH is the people of God (Followers of Jesus) and it is GLOBAL and LOCAL for the purpose of reaching the world Psalms 92:13-14 (NKJV) - Those who are planted in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing, Hebrews 10:24-25 (NKJV) - And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Both of these scriptures tell us how important CHURCH is to our lives.
Psalm 92 says that those who are planted in the house of God shall flourish and no matter what life throws at it will continue to flourish. Hebrews say DON'T stop getting together and encouraging and challenging one another so that we can live out God's full potential.
? BUT WHY ?
John 1:12 (NKJV) - But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. Galatians 3:26 (NKJV) - For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. When we were saved we were born again into the family of God and became the sons and daughters of God. We're a part of His family. Ephesians 3:14-15 (NKJV) - For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, Paul tells us that the family of God is both here on earth and in heaven. This family is spiritual and it is eternal.
Romans 12:3-5 (NKJV) - For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Each of us have been given unique gifts and abilities for the purpose of building the church (the body) and advancing God's Kingdom (Reaching people). ? WHAT DO YOU HAVE ? - Don't hold it back or and store it away. You are not complete without the body and the body is not complete without you.
Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) - For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NKJV) - For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, The Bible tells us that we are in a spiritual battle and that the enemy wants to take us out. Why? So that he can stop us from being a part of the body and advancing His Kingdom. We have to begin to think like an army and be mission minded and also defend one another so we can fight good fight Acts 4:31 (NKJV) - And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. When we engage in prayer and spiritually are a part of the fight we see the power of God released and supernatural things begin to happen as God's Kingdom is advanced
SO our response is to ENGAGE THE FAMILY, CONTRIBUTE TO THE BODY, AND FIGHT LIKE AN ARMY

We are starting a new series based off the book "Stepping Into The Kingdom" This book and series is all about the Kingdom of God and fully stepping into it (The rule and rules of King Jesus)
We are starting by talking about what the Kingdom of God is and how it is that we step into it. // Chapters 1&2
6 When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him. 7 And he cried out with a loud voice and said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me.” 8 For He said to him, “Come out of the man, unclean spirit!” 9 Then He asked him, “What is your name?” And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” 10 Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country.
11 Now a large herd of swine was feeding there near the mountains. 12 So all the demons begged Him, saying, “Send us to the swine, that we may enter them.” 13 And at once Jesus gave them permission. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea. 14 So those who fed the swine fled, and they told it in the city and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that had happened. 15 Then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid.
The NT teaches EVERYTHING has changed because the Kingdom of God is at hand Matthew 3:2 (NKJV) - John the baptist preached THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is at hand. Therefore, repent! Matthew 4:17 (NKJV) - Jesus began and continued in His earthly ministry preaching "The Kingdom of God is at hand repent"
? WHAT IS THE KINGDOM ?
THE KINGDOM OF GOD - God as king! God's authority and His right to rule based on His might, power, and glory. It is the realm of God's rule as the one and only true God.
For example, when you go to someone else's house you are under their families' rules because it is their house. You are under their rule and rules.
Another example is the rules and rule of a different country if you were to visit. You are no longer under the rules or rule of America, but have entered into a different rule.
The KINGDOM OF GOD can be hard to understand as it is not RIGHT NOW tangible. Luke 17:20-21 (NKJV) - Jesus said that the Kingdom of God does not come with observation but that it is within. While the Kingdom of God will be visible and tangible when Jesus returns, right now it is present in the hearts and lives those who receive it by faith.
? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE and mission of Gods Kingdom?
The mission of God's Kingdom is the invasion of darkness, the defeat of the enemy, and the freedom and fullness of humanity.
This is what we see in Mark 5 as a man who was tormented was fully set free! Jesus came and fully defeated death, hell, and the grave so that we can have full life and freedom. EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED, you don't have to stay in darkness, sin, bondage, or struggle anymore.
? SO HOW DO I STEP INTO THE KINGDOM ?
John 3:3 (NKJV) - Jesus said that you and I MUST be born again.
Acts 2:37-39 (NKJV) - The response of the Holy Spirits conviction is to turn to Jesus and to be baptized. Romans 6:1-4 (NKJV) - Paul says that water baptism is symbolic our having died to our old life and being born again into life with Jesus.
Acts 1:4-5 (NKJV) - Jesus said WAIT for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8 (NKJV) - Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will give you the power to be and do all that He has called you to do.
THERE IS LIFE AND FREEDOM IN CHRIST WHEN YOU STEP INTO THE KINGDOM

1 Timothy 2:3-4 (NKJV) - For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Matthew 5:13-16 (NKJV) - “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:13-16 (MSG) - “Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage. 14-16 “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill.
If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.
Daniel 1:8-9 (NKJV) - But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. 9 Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs.
Daniel 1:17 (NKJV) - As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
Daniel 2:47-48 (NKJV) - The king answered Daniel, and said, “Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.” 48 Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts; and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon.

Romans 3:23 - For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
1 John 1:10 - If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
Matthew 18:21-35 - 21 Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” 22 “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven! 23 “Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king who decided to bring his accounts up to date with servants who had borrowed money from him. 24 In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him millions of dollars. 25 He couldn’t pay, so his master ordered that he be sold—along with his wife, his children, and everything he owned—to pay the debt.
26 “But the man fell down before his master and begged him, ‘Please, be patient with me, and I will pay it all.’ 27 Then his master was filled with pity for him, and he released him and forgave his debt. 28 “But when the man left the king, he went to a fellow servant who owed him a few thousand dollars. He grabbed him by the throat and demanded instant payment.
29 “His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little more time. ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it,’ he pleaded. 30 But his creditor wouldn’t wait. He had the man arrested and put in prison until the debt could be paid in full. 31 “When some of the other servants saw this, they were very upset. They went to the king and told him everything that had happened. 32 Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, ‘You evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. 33 Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?’ 34Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until he had paid his entire debt. 35 “That’s what my heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart.”
1 John 1:9 - But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
Ephesians 2:8-9 - God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Romans 5:1-2 - Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. 2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 - Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Message Points Love Is First Received! We Must Be Empowered By The Holy Spirit To Love Others! Love Is A Personal Choice For You To Make!
Patient & Kind: Love for someone decides to be patient through the good times and the bad, but especially through the bad times. When everyone decides to give up and walk away, love stays, and when love stays it is not a jerk and it does not downgrade the other person, but it is intentionally kind to them because it understands and feels the pain the other person is going through.
Envy, Boastfulness, Arrogance, Rudeness: Love for others decides not to desire or value some people more than others, rather it values all as equal. It does not put people on a pedestal or idolize them, but recognizes they are people who desire true relationship with others, not wax figurines with voice boxes. At the same time, love decides to let go of its own accomplishments to listen to the accomplishments of those around it in the kindest manner possible.
- Irritable, Selfish, Resentful: Love is not these things, rather, it seeks to find the best in every person it comes in contact with, and it chooses to help others fulfill their purpose, it does not manipulate others for its own good, but it lets people write their own story with God. Love chooses not to provoke the worst out of or to think the worst of someone, but rather encourages the best out of them, even when they do not know it is there.
Rejoicing In Truth: Love does not recognize the evil, but it also does not ignore it, and it most certainly is not excited when another member of the family falls. What does love do then? Love intentionally celebrates with another's victory, it takes part in another's joy in walking with Christ.
ALL THINGS: Love covers the sins of someone by showeing them with love, care, and encouragement. It believes that all things are possible for the one on the right of you, and the one on the left of you. Their dreams are possible, their hopes are possible, their transformation is possible. Love hopes that everything God desires for the people around them will come to pass. And in the midst of all of this, love will endure forever. Love will go through everything with its neighbor, and will never get tired and walk away, but rather, it will always keep its arms locked around one another. Why? Because love is the one thing that brings true unity to people.

The Wilderness Literally: A place that is isolated, desolate, and it uncultivated and uninhabited. Spiritually: A place or a season that is separated, isolated, and is for the purpose of consecration and intimacy with God.
Luke 4:1-2 (NKJV) - Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.
Mark 4:15 (NKJV) - And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.
The Devil - The Devil is not the enemies name, it is his title. The word “devil” is the world diablos, which means to slander, accuse falsely, speak lies for the purpose of separating man from God. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) - No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
James 1:12 (NKJV) - Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
James 4:6-7 (NKJV) - But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

8 And Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” 9 Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. 10 For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you,’ 11and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” 12 And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”
13 Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time. 14 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region.

Mark 10:46-52 - Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" 48 Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” 50 And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. 51 So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” 52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
Proverbs 16:9 - A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
James 1:5-8 - If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” 35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.” 38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

30 “And when forty years had passed, an Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire in a bush, in the wilderness of Mount Sinai. 31 When Moses saw it, he marveled at the sight; and as he drew near to observe, the voice of the Lord came to him, 32 saying, ‘I am the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ And Moses trembled and dared not look. 33 ‘Then the Lord said to him, “Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground. 34 I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt; I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. NKJV - Then the master said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

NKJV - The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, 3 to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. 4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me;
5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
NKJV - These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
NKJV - When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
John 17:20-23
NKJV - I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

NKJV - Now when one of those who sat at the table with Him heard these things, he said to Him, “Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!” 16 Then He said to him, “A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, 17 and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, for all things are now ready.’ 18 But they all with one accord began to make excuses. I ask you to have me excused.’
20 Still another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’ 21 So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.’ 22 And the servant said, ‘Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.’

Alt Title: "How To Love The People That Suck The Life Out Of You"
Scriptures (All NKJV)
8 David also arose afterward, went out of the cave, and called out to Saul, saying, “My lord the king!” And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed down. 9 And David said to Saul: “Why do you listen to the words of men who say, ‘Indeed David seeks your harm’? 10 Look, this day your eyes have seen that the Lord delivered you today into my hand in the cave, and someone urged me to kill you. But my eye spared you, and I said, ‘I will not stretch out my hand against my lord, for he is the Lord’s anointed.’ 11 Moreover, my father, see! Yes, see the corner of your robe in my hand! For in that I cut off the corner of your robe, and did not kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor rebellion in my hand, and I have not sinned against you. Yet you hunt my life to take it. 12 Let the Lord judge between you and me, and let the Lord avenge me on you. But my hand shall not be against you. 13 As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘Wickedness proceeds from the wicked.’ But my hand shall not be against you. 14 After whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom do you pursue? A dead dog? A flea? 15 Therefore let the Lord be judge, and judge between you and me, and see and plead my case, and deliver me out of your hand.”
16 So it was, when David had finished speaking these words to Saul, that Saul said, “Is this your voice, my son David?” And Saul lifted up his voice and wept. 17 Then he said to David: “You are more righteous than I; for you have rewarded me with good, whereas I have rewarded you with evil. 18 And you have shown this day how you have dealt well with me; for when the Lord delivered me into your hand, you did not kill me. 19 For if a man finds his enemy, will he let him get away safely? Therefore may the Lord reward you with good for what you have done to me this day. 20 And now I know indeed that you shall surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in your hand. 21 Therefore swear now to me by the Lord that you will not cut off my descendants after me, and that you will not destroy my name from my father’s house.” 22 So David swore to Saul. And Saul went home, but David and his men went up to the stronghold.

25 Then Saul said, “Thus you shall say to David: ‘The king does not desire any dowry but one hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to take vengeance on the king’s enemies.’ ” But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines. 26 So when his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to become the king’s son-in-law. Now the days had not expired; 27 therefore David arose and went, he and his men, and killed two hundred men of the Philistines. And David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full count to the king, that he might become the king’s son-in-law. Then Saul gave him Michal his daughter as a wife.
28 Thus Saul saw and knew that the Lord was with David, and that Michal, Saul’s daughter, loved him; 29 and Saul was still more afraid of David. So Saul became David’s enemy continually. 30 Then the princes of the Philistines went out to war. And so it was, whenever they went out, that David behaved more wisely than all the servants of Saul, so that his name became highly esteemed.
2 Samuel 11:1-5 - It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem. 2 Then it happened one evening that David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to behold. 3 So David sent and inquired about the woman. And someone said, “Is this not Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?” 4 Then David sent messengers, and took her; and she came to him, and he lay with her, for she was cleansed from her impurity; and she returned to her house. 5 And the woman conceived; so she sent and told David, and said, “I am with child.”

- Romans 5:1-5 - Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
- Hebrews 12:11 - Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

- James 4:7-10 - Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
- Galatians 3:2-5 - This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? 4 Have you suffered so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? 5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—
- Psalm 100:4 - Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
- Proverbs 4:25-27 - Let your eyes look straight ahead,
And your eyelids look right before you.
26 Ponder the path of your feet,
And let all your ways be established.
27 Do not turn to the right or the left;
Remove your foot from evil.

Scriptures (All NKJV)
- Galatians 5:16-21 - I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
- Jonah 3:10 - Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.
- Jonah 4:1-11 - But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he became angry. 2 So he prayed to the Lord, and said, “Ah, Lord, was not this what I said when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled previously to Tarshish; for I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm. 3 Therefore now, O Lord, please take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live!”
4 Then the Lord said, “Is it right for you to be angry?” 5 So Jonah went out of the city and sat on the east side of the city. There he made himself a shelter and sat under it in the shade, till he might see what would become of the city. 6 And the Lord God prepared a plant and made it come up over Jonah, that it might be shade for his head to deliver him from his misery. So Jonah was very grateful for the plant. 7 But as morning dawned the next day God prepared a worm, and it so damaged the plant that it withered. 8 And it happened, when the sun arose, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat on Jonah’s head, so that he grew faint. Then he wished death for himself, and said, “It is better for me to die than to live.”
9 Then God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?” And he said, “It is right for me to be angry, even to death!” 10 But the Lord said, “You have had pity on the plant for which you have not labored, nor made it grow, which came up in a night and perished in a night. 11 And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left—and much livestock?”
- Hebrews 12:1-2 - Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Scriptures (All NKJV)
- Luke 12:22-32 - Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. 23 Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. 24 Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? 25 And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 26 If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?
29 “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. 30 For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. 31 But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. 32 “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
- Philippians 4:6-7 - Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
- Philippians 4:19 - And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
- 2 Kings 6:15-20 - And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”
16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 18 So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.
19 Now Elisha said to them, “This is not the way, nor is this the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek.” But he led them to Samaria.
20 So it was, when they had come to Samaria, that Elisha said, “Lord, open the eyes of these men, that they may see.” And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and there they were, inside Samaria!
- Psalm 91:1-11 - He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.

- Mark 9:14-29 - And when He came to the disciples, He saw a great multitude around them, and scribes disputing with them. 15 Immediately, when they saw Him, all the people were greatly amazed, and running to Him, greeted Him. 16 And He asked the scribes, “What are you discussing with them?” 17 Then one of the crowd answered and said, “Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a mute spirit. 18 And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out, but they could not.”
19 He answered him and said, “O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me.” 20 Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth. 21 So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. 22 And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”
23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” 25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” 26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.
28 And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” 29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 13 Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power.
15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

- John 8:1-12 - But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2 Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. 3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, “Teacher, [a]this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” 6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.
7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” 8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” 12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

- John 4:23 - But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

What work will You do? 31 Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ ”
32 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” 34 Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.” 35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. - John 1:35-42 - Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples. 36 And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God!” 37 The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. 38 Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, “What do you seek?” They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), “where are You staying?”
39 He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour). 40 One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41 He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, a stone).
