The Good Shepherd Speaks to Us* Just like sheep learn to recognize the shepherd’s unique call, we must learn to recognize God’s voice. * Jesus still speaks—but are we still listening? * Voices of the world distract us, but God’s voice is clear: slow down, forgive, give, serve, trust. * The more we obey, the more we’ll hear Him.

  1. The Good Shepherd Saves Us Jesus is not just the Shepherd—He is also the gate* (John 10:7–9).
  2. Salvation doesn’t come by religious rituals or good works—it comes by walking through His door.

  3. “Jesus saves” means more than a ticket to heaven—it means healing, freedom, and restoration from every form of brokenness.

  4. The Good Shepherd Supplies Our Needs John 10:10: “I came that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.”*

  5. God is not promising riches—He’s promising abundance in peace, strength, and joy.

  6. Psalm 23 reminds us: “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.”

  7. The Good Shepherd Shields Us Jesus willingly laid down His life* for His sheep (John 10:11,14).

  8. He is not a hired hand—He is the true Shepherd who died for us.

  9. In the Old Testament, sheep died for sin. In the New Testament, the Shepherd dies in place of the sheep.

  10. The Good Shepherd Secures Us John 10:27–28: “No one will snatch them out of my hand.”*

  11. When we belong to Jesus, our eternity is secure—He chases after us, even when we stray.
  12. Romans 8:38–39 confirms nothing can separate us from His love—not death, not failure, not fear.

Closing Illustration:Pastor Gene tells a story of his son Landon hearing his dad’s voice in a crowded stadium. Just like Landon, we must learn to distinguish the Father’s voice from all the other noise. The difference between a performer and someone who knows the Shepherd? “You may know Psalm 23—but I know the Shepherd.”
