In dramatic language, the psalmist paints a picture of serious upheaval in vv.2-3. What might be some modern-day examples of such upheaval in our world?

What is the psalmist’s attitude toward such events? What does he base his attitude on?

The only direct command from God in this psalm comes in v.10: “Be still, and know that I am God.” How do people tend to respond to crises? Why do you think it's important to “be still”?

How would you describe the difference between “reacting” and “responding”? Why is it more important to do the latter as opposed to the former?

Are there any areas of your life where you’re “reacting” more than “responding”? What could it look like for you to “be still” in any of these areas?

What does it look like to “be the Church” during COVID-19? In other words, what would it look like for the Christian community to “respond” in a Christ-like way?

Are there things that you, as a disciple of Christ, can personally do to love your neighbor during this COVID-19 outbreak?
