JC Shurburtt and Mike Morgan have watched the dust settle a bit on the current college football landscape in the wake of the conference realignment flurry. They offer their thoughts on the situation. The JC5 has them wondering about how appealing SMU is, how good a friend Notre Dame actually is for the ACC, and is there any standalone value as Stanford as an independent. They dip into the mailbag for your questions, and end it with a good Five and Dime.

Yes, we can talk SEC Media Days and other topics, but the bottom line is it's a dog days sort of time for college football as the media days events play out and we are all waiting for practice to start. Week Zero also is just around the corner with Notre Dame-Navy in Ireland highlighting the lean slate. In addition to the SEC, we talk about the new Big 12, answer mailbox questions and more. No movie segment this time, but it will return stronger than a garlic milkshake in the near future.

The mailbag was on fire this week. There's a Colorado question, again. Then in our Fiver or Dimer movie segment, they examine a hidden gem and then go back to the mid-1990s and then back to the Vietnam War era with a deep dive on the decorated film, Forrest Gump. This podcast started in 2016 and has lasted until now with our 200th episode of JC and Morgan. What better guest to have than one of the legends of college football, former Northwestern and Colorado head coach Gary Barnett. We continue to dive into the Buffs and go back to the 1980s and 1990s when Colorado was one of the top teams in the country (and the 1990 AP National Champion) through the mid-2000s slugging it out in the Big 12 north. Since Barnett left Boulder, CU has had only one winning season. We also talk about the possible move back to the Big 12. The JC 5 touches all major conferences and we have a mailbag question or two including one about the newly reconfigured American. Plus, the fiver or dimer movie segment rolls on.
