Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may have to struggle again to form a coalition after the fourth election in the country in two years.

Exit polls indicated Netanyahu and his religious and nationalist allies fell short of the parliamentary majority required to form a new government.

That raised the possibility of an unprecedented fifth consecutive election later this year.

But the result may still be significant for Netanyahu, who's facing corruption charges.

*) Ethiopia’s leader admits rape, looting committed in Tigray war

Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has acknowledged for the first time that rape and looting were committed in the Tigray region war.

He also admitted that troops from neighbouring Eritrea were involved in the conflict in the Tigray region as concerns grow over a humanitarian crisis.

The prime minister's admission comes after months of denial from Addis Ababa and Asmara.

*) Sri Lanka rejects UN scrutiny over crimes against Tamils during civil war

Sri Lanka has rejected a United Nations’ move to preserve evidence of war crimes in the country.

Sri Lanka’s foreign minister said the money allocated for the effort would be better spent on housing for the poor.

The resolution adopted by the UN Human Rights Council called for a $2.8 million budget to collect and preserve evidence of war crimes for future prosecutions.

*) Biden urges action on gun control after Colorado mass shooting

US President Joe Biden has called on lawmakers to pass stricter gun control laws after the Colorado mass shooting.

Biden’s two-month-old administration faces increased pressure to fulfil promises on gun regulation.

Any effort to move the US toward greater gun control has historically been difficult with his fellow Democrats in favour and Republicans largely opposed.

A Banksy painting portraying nurses as superheroes has raised millions of dollars for British health charities.

The artwork called Game Changer sold at an auction on Tuesday for $19.85 million dollars.

It's the highest price ever for a Banksy painting.
