In 1994 Massive Dread was shot.Some allege it was for publicly
speaking outagainst the political authorities..

RANKING DREAD born Winston Brown, c.1955,was a Jamaican reggae deejay
who grew up in the Kingston ghettos of Rema and Tivoli.
He became famous for his work withthe Ray Symbolic soundsystem in the 1970s.
Then moved to london, linked up with Lloyd Coxsone's soundsystem
In the mid-1980s, he faded from the music scene but became notorious for his criminal activities,
and was labelled "the most dangerous man in Britain and the number one Yardie Godfathe.
He was eventually extradited back to Jamaica where he died in prison in 1996..
