Jo talks with Jill Smith who is an Associate Professor in the School of Curriculum and Pedagogy, Faculty of Education. Her specialism is Visual Arts education in the secondary school sector and with postgraduate students. Jill's research, teaching and art practice focus upon the relationships between art, culture, policy, and curriculum. In 2011, Jill was awarded the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Art Educators (ANZAAE) inaugural Award for ‘Sustained leadership, outstanding service, and contributions to research in art education’ and in 2012 received the Faculty of Education Teaching Excellence Award for 'Sustained Excellence in Teaching'.
