The Pharisees seemed to think of the kingdom of God in carnal terms. As far as they could tell, it was not present- -When will it come-- Christ responds with clarification and correction- the kingdom does not come with observation- it is not immediately obvious. It is established wherever Christ reigns in the heart of men. The Pharisees had the King in their midst, but they had no grasp of a kingdom that was not of this world.
