An Arkansas man took his 11-year-old step-son hostage, and fatally shot him, before being gunned down by police officers.

A camping and shooting trip, attended by three off-duty LAPD officers, ended with one of them seriously shot, and another arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Finally, in Florida, a newspaper article exposed the fact that Gregory Tony, current Broward County sheriff, killed a man in 1993, when he was 14-years-old. Tony had kept the incident a secret, and did not disclose it when he applied to become a police officer, or when he was appointed sheriff.
