Welcome to the Branding for Women Podcast! This is THE place to connect with and learn from other female entrepreneurs. I’m your host, Karely Brinton, and I’m so excited to have you here!
About Karely
Karely Brinton is a soft spoken, Josh Groban loving, professional branding designer. Her goal is to make our world a better place to live by creating beautiful and effective brand identities for female owned businesses. She has a Bachelor’s degree in design and a background in psychology that allows her to create unique visual messages that speak directly to her client’s dream customers! Although she may be soft spoken, she values authenticity and loves to vibrantly and truthfully show off her client’s unique beautiful personalities and natural talents! You can connect with her on her instagram profile @brandingforwomen or on her website, www.brandingforwomen.com.
What led Karely to become a graphic designer?
- Karely always wanted to be a mom. In high school, everyone pressures you to find a career path… unfortunately, a mom isn’t an acceptable answer. She decided to become a nurse, but soon found that it wasn’t the career for her.
- With a surprising amount of support and encouragement from her family, she decided to take the leap and pursue a career in something she has always loved to do - design!
- She uses her talents to make the community around us more beautiful, especially on the commercial front - no more ugly signs!
Why should you hire a graphic designer instead of doing it yourself?
- There are a lot of tools that allow you to create business assets.
- That said, think of it like getting your hair or makeup done. Of course, you can do it yourself, but on important occasions (like a wedding), most people will choose to hire a professional.
- I recommend the same for your business. If you hire a professional, your business and brand will be presented in the BEST way.
What should you look for in a graphic designer?
- You want to choose a designer that has a natural affinity to your style and vision.
- Make sure they are a professional when viewing their portfolio. Do they know the difference between good and poor design?
What do my branding packages look like?
- Graphic design as an important and necessary investment for your business.
- While good design can sometimes feel like a BIG investment - consider the cost of bad design! Poor design = confusion, misunderstanding, and repelling potential customers.
- Packages:
-
- Establish the foundation of your brand message and mission
-
- Start adding in purposefully designed elements such as logo, business cards, and other visuals
-
- All packages have payment plans to make the investment easier to navigate for new entrepreneurs
- I also offer Brand Audits where I’ll look at your current brand and recommend improvements.
Advice for others thinking about a career in graphic design
- There are many resources and courses these days that you can take in place of a 4 year degree. But a formal education is worth it by giving you the opportunity to learn face to face with professional and successful designers.
- If you decide to take courses online, choose carefully. Find courses and instructors that you can relate with.
- If you wouldn’t trade places with them, don’t take a course from them.
What can you expect from this podcast?
- There will be a new episode every week.
