Just a few days ago, the amount of people in the US that died from Covid-19, 58,355, surpassed the number of people that died from the Vietnam war, 58,220.

9.26 people died each day in the Vietnam War but 589.44 Americans died each day here from Covid-19. But each one of those numbers was a person. And now, people are pressuring change at the risk of more lives. I don't know how anyone is ok with that.

This is a long entry because I recently got confirmation of something I thought I knew.

Did you know that you need a physical injury for cancer? You can't mentally will someone to get cancer, you have to have something actually injure you - a virus (HPV), a particle (asbestos, coal), a physical action (tick bite), something.

Well, when you hurt someone, without early intervention, that injury metastasizes like cancer. And the loneliest people in the world not only don't intervene, they double and triple-down, to ensure that there's no relationship.

Got a lotta time to think and write. Let me tell you a story about a dude I know.

Do you remember when I gave you that three-step PSA on how to apologize?

  1. The words: “I’m sorry.”
  2. Some manifestation of contrition: “I feel awful about what I did; there’s no excuse.”
  3. Some overt act to try make things right again: "I'll make it up to you. Let's go to counseling."

I submit that a lotta lonely people are the ones that don't understand that apologies are a three-step process.
