Last week was Transfiguration Sunday, which is a transition Sunday. It is a bridge over which we walk to get to the season of Lent. The transfiguration is like a road sign pointing back to Jesus' baptism when he is declared the Son of God, while also pointing toward his crucifixion and resurrection in Jerusalem.
