According to the website Save the Internet, net neutrality is defined as “the internet’s guiding principle: It preserves our right to communicate freely online. Net Neutrality means an internet that enables and protects free speech”. On December 17th, 2017, the FCC approved an order which dismantles the agency’s 2015 Net Neutrality rules, relinquishing authority over internet service providers and clearing the way for potential blocking and discrimination by the US’s largest phone and cable companies.
