When I was a child church was any of a number of buildings round about where people got christened, married or if they were really odd went on Sunday to a ‘service’. I, went to an Anglican church school where we had a ‘service’ every morning, a Baptist Sunday school with stories and drawing and lived next door to and was often cared for by, a Roman Catholic couple. It was seldom mentioned but some of my relatives, well they are Jews. Needless to say I was a confused child.

In my teens having read less than a chapter of a book I can’t even remember the title of I declared myself a Buddhist thus leaving no doubt as to whom was the ‘black sheep’ of our family

My hope is that in this show we might discover together what church is in a biblical sense, which to my mind is as far removed from what we see around us as “Adam knew Eve” is from “Adam and Eve screwed”.
