Psalm 33:1-9 CSB
1 Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous ones; praise from the upright is beautiful.
2 Praise the Lord with the lyre; make music to him with a ten-stringed harp.
3 Sing a new song to him; play skillfully on the strings, with a joyful shout.
4 For the word of the Lord is right, and all his work is trustworthy.
5 He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the Lord’s unfailing love.
6 The heavens were made by the word of the Lord, and all the stars, by the breath of his mouth.
7 He gathers the water of the sea into a heap; he puts the depths into storehouses.
8 Let the whole earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
9 For he spoke, and it came into being; he commanded, and it came into existence.
John 1:1-3
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 All things were created through him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created.

Closing Thoughts
I love board games. I’m not talking Monopoly, Sorry, or Candyland, but really in-depth, hour long board games. One particular board game that my friends and I played several times seemed like a good concept, but we really didn’t enjoy it as much as we had hoped. So we tried something new and changed the rules a bit. It did not go well for us. Then I went back to the rulebook and realized they had thought of the way we wanted to play and had a rule set for it. Their version of it was a lot better than what we had tried to come up with. It’s the same with our relationship with Jesus.
Whenever I share the gospel, I start with, “Since God is the Creator, He knows how life works best.” God being the cause of all things means that He gets to set the rules. If you don’t start with Him as Creator, then none of the rest of it makes sense. We want to set the rules, change the rules, bend the rules, or just throw out the rules and make it up as we go along. But in the end, it never quite works the way we expect.
So this week when you are walking outside, driving along the road, eating, working, talking with others, take a moment to pause and realize how awesome God’s creation really is. Think about how He made everything to have purpose, and how we can derive joy from those things, if we also submit to His rule set for those things. It’s not about a strict rule maker who is trying to keep us from having fun. It’s about a loving Father, who wants us to have life, and that to the fullest. Go and enjoy His creation!
