We all knew one person growing up who was very sensitive or very emotional, who felt things more deeply and more passionately than most. Maybe that person was you. They were great listeners. Your pain or joy became theirs. They were willing to share the experience be it good or bad. Since anyone different tends to get mocked, shunned or ridiculed very often these sensitive, emotional people withdrew or tried to to to hide their gift of empathy, perception and sensitivity. This is a shame, because these are the people who make the best and most loyal friends. They are the ones who show up to help without being asked. They are the ones who will sit and comfort and encourage you. They are the ones who will stand by you when your life is unraveling. Given the division and hostility we see in the world and in our country today, we need more of these sensitive souls now more than ever. Tune in as Stephanie Red Feather defines and explains the value of an empath.
