Think about a time you were about to start a new job. You were both excited and nervous. You were told about the company’s training program and how it would prepare you for your new role. Then you arrived. No one seemed to know you were coming. Someone finally came up to welcome you. This person gave you the W9 to complete, some forms for payroll, emergency contact, and a link to how to select your benefits.You are told “here is your desk.” There are no supplies waiting for you. A few minutes later a set of books arrives. “Here is your training manual. Everything you need to know and do is in the manuals” Sound familiar!! I can feel some of you laughing. Admit it! You had this experience at least once. I have worked with organizations where 7 out of 10 new employees leave within 6 months, yet they continue to follow this horrible procedure.
