Nonprofit organizations serve an important purpose. Most provide hope or a safe haven for those in need. Most are staffed by people who have dedicated their lives to service. Yet most Nonprofits must change. Business as usual is failing. Most staff is underpaid and turnover in the rank and file causes lack of continuity and consistency within the organization. The “best practices” of yesterday are no longer effective. There are too many worthwhile organizations struggling. There is too much duplication of infrastructure that drains resources and prevents organizations from focusing on their mission. There are too many gaps between services for young people and families, caught in the continuum of trauma to navigate. Dr. Sara McCellan will explain the challenge facing small non profits and new methods for their survival.
