MRLG (MInehead Rail Link Group) is a campaign headed up by Alex de Mendoza and David Latimer for a rail service from Minehead and West Somerset to Taunton, Bristol and Cardiff. David is a former British Rail and GWR staff member and was a rep for the RMT (The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers).

  • Minehead Railway Station
  • Was closed in 1971 under the Beeching act.
  • WSR – West Somerset Railway re-opend it and ran its first train to Bishops Lydeard in December 1975
  • At 20 miles it’s the longest privately owned passenger rail line in Britain.
