Have you ever wondered if there is a difference between depression and depression? Depression affects about 19 million Americans. It is more than being sad. It is not the blues and people can’t just snap out of it.
Dr. Amber Thornton of A Different Prospective podcast joins me to discuss the difference between sadness and depression. She is a licensed clinical psychologist and received a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from The Ohio State University, and a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from Wright State University School of Professional Psychology. Her clinical interests vary, and include child and adolescents, college counseling, family systems, the psychological impacts of complex trauma, and diversity and multiculturalism. She is most passionate about providing mental health services to marginalized and under-served communities.
