Many Christians believe that because they now belong to Jesus that they’re immune to temptation or the effects of “sinful” society. That’s just not true. The Bible says that we’re to be “in the world but not of it”, which indicates that we can be affected by it. Jesus prayed along those lines in John 17 when He asked God to protect His followers. Pastor Mark is going to be teaching along the same lines, by helping us understand the ways that the world system can influence and even control us. We’ll be learning the importance of making money serve us rather than the other way around.
