Fear can cause us to do things we never thought we would do. When you let your mind wander into 'what if' scenarios, you may go to unnecessary extremes. As Pastor Mark teaches today about a divided kingdom, we'll see a king make blasphemous statements and lead people into idolatry, just because he is afraid he might lose his rule over the people. As a believer, you can imagine a situation where you were uncomfortable, or maybe even fearful, about letting your faith shine. Those situations are exactly the ones where you need to stand for God. If you don't, you may be making a statement through your silence...that God doesn't matter to you.
