When you've been enjoying God's blessings for a long time, you become comfortable in that peace. The Lord desires that peace and security for us, but we also have to be vigilant. It's easy to slip back into old habits when we think we've already conquered them, but the enemy is always waiting. The Word is a guard for our hearts, deflecting the attacks that come day after day. As we'll hear today, just when David thinks the battle is over, the enemy comes back for a second attack. If you turn away from the Word after you've overcome something, you'll be open to destruction.
