There are churches today that operate from their own power, doing their own thing, all in the name of God...but without His authority. That's a weak church, and there's no truth in it. That's why Jesus was such a threat to the religious establishment in His time...His words and actions had power. That power revealed the impotence of those corrupt leaders. If a church is truly seeking after the Lord, taking instruction from the Word and focused on knowing the truth...it will be evidenced by the powerful witness it brings to people, changing lives in a real way. The church without His authority may be big, flashy...but will fall like a house of cards.
