When you go to God in prayer, do you already have an idea of how He could answer it for you? We often have an agenda, especially when it comes to the desires of our hearts. But, if you can let go of that selfish desire and earnestly seek His will—whatever that might be—He will hear your wants as well as your needs. Imagine a child hands you a map of the route they're going to take to get to school. It's full of dangerous crossings...but also passes by a candy shop. Wouldn't you still send them the safer way, even if it meant missing out on candy? Our will can blind us to things that God can see, so trust that He will do what's best.
