Or compromise.” The definition of a successful marriage differs depending on who you ask, but as a Christ-follower...why would you need anyone's opinion but God's? Right from the beginning, God created man and woman to complement each other, and Jesus held fast to that ideal when the Pharisees pressed Him about the issue of divorce. Jesus reminded them that God designed the covenant of marriage, but divorce was borne out of man's will and hard-heartedness. The Lord designed this partnership to be a blessing, but the key to success? God at the heart of it.
