1 John 1:1-4

• Jesus as fully God is the perfect sacrifice.

• Jesus as fully man is the perfect substitute.

1 John 1:5-7

• God is pure, like light dispels darkness.

• He will not let sin ruin heaven like Adam and Eve's sin ruined Eden.

1 John 1:8-10

• If we think we are sinless we are kidding ourselves.

• Even the "smallest" sin is offensive compared to God's standards.

• No amount of good undoes any bad we have done.

1 John 2:1-2

• While sin is unacceptable to God, so is the fact that we will remain his enemies.

• So God sent our only hope, Jesus, the perfect, sinless, substitute.

• His death satisfies the requirements of justice and also removes our sin.

• This is available for anyone who chooses to accept the free offer.
