Join Tina Turbin and Dr. Peter H.R. Green M.D. for an enlightening discussion on celiac disease, one of the most common and under-diagnosed autoimmune diseases, it's symptoms, and how 97% of the U.S. population unknowingly has celiac. Dr. Green diagnoses over 2,400 celiac patients a year, one being day-time Emmy Award winner, Elisabeth Hasselbeck of ABC’s “The View”. About Tina Turbin:

For many years, Tina has continued researching and writing in fields that interest her: children, families, mothers and women in society, health and nutrition — including gluten and wheat allergies — as well as the environment. She also supports these areas through her actions.

“I find there is a lot of valid information available as well as plenty that is false. It truly takes a logical approach in research, while reading or sifting through the barrage of information, to come to one’s own conclusion, especially before imparting it to others. I am interested in compiling the truth in a given field and then helping others to acquire helpful information. The way I write about it or share it may be different from another’s way, and as a result it may ‘hit home’ just because my delivery was unique to that one person.

“I care a lot about children, moms and families. It is just who I am and in my heart. I am a mom, my kids are older now, and to me this role is still one of the most important in society. What is done with just one child, how he or she is treated on a daily basis at home and in school, can make quite a difference for a very long time. Also, helping a mom or a family in a situation of need can create quite an impact that TRULY shows up many years later. This brings us to the subject of society and our environment at large. It all plays quite a role; all aspects of this really interact one with another. I want to help people to see this.”

Is your partner a Giver or a Taker?

Maybe the way your brain is wired holds the answers. According to Robert A. Moss, Ph.D., ABN/ABPP, relationships are not as complicated as we make them out to be and these aggressions can be easily avoided or reacted to in a manor that won't ruin a relationship.

Once patterns are recognized in behavior, relationships and marriages can be saved. Based on the principle that humans attempt to control the world around them in order to elicit positive responses and emotions, Moss explains human behavior types in two categories: Givers and Takers.

By identifying whether your significant other is a Giver or a Taker, Moss provides information on the most effective way to deal with each type of personality.

Dr. Moss has worked with the brain model design since the early 80's and has written a number of articles and books relating to neuroscience and human behavior. Moss is an adult psychological treatment specialist in Greenville, South Carolina.

Dr. Moss is the first to explain human relationships in terms of psychotherapy based on the brain model. Moss offers new insight as to how intimate relationship behavior patterns develop and are maintained as a result of the brain.

You know the story, when life gives you lemons...Alesia Shute has gone beyond making lemonade to becoming a well of refreshing to many. Her own battle with childhood illness craved a place of compassion in her heart, now her work and life is used to help others.

Her Book

Everything's OK, Alesia's book is being used to further her benevolent mission. One hundred percent of the proceeds are donated to help children. Do you have a dream to help others? Tune in and hear Alesia's story and how she is impacting the world and making a difference. You'll be inspired to go after your dream!

Her Story

Alesia Shute was born in Philadelphia to a hard working family. She dreamed of being a fashion model most of her life, but her height kept her from fully following through. She thought about being a nurse, with her natural compassion for people, but her untimely illness at the age of 7 and subsequent six major surgeries, multiple minor surgeries and long hospital stays made her rethink that career.

In between all of her surgeries, Alesia met her husband, Cliff, whom she has been married to for 25 years. Together they have worked in the nightclub and restaurant business for their entire relationship, balancing marriage and work; crazy-all-night, sleep-all-day work!

They have used their businesses to hold carnivals and auctions to help families with sick children to pay the bills. Alesia was the president of the Timmy’s Regatta Foundation for 10 years and She and Cliff still donate to Ronald McDonald House in Camden New Jersey, as well as to local charities that encourage neighborhood children to participate in sports.

Meet Mom Inventor Dana Hanh Contey as she shares her Ah-Ha moment!

The idea for Instant Button® for Jeans started after my third child. I was constantly adjusting the waistband of my favorite jeans’ because I was stuck in-between sizes. I tried using belts to secure my jeans, but it was bulky and added another layer of thickness to my waist. Then I tried using safety pins to shrink the waistband. After months of poking my fingers and body with the pins, I knew that I was on a mission to find a solution.

In addition to my own struggle, I learned that many more people, including my family, and friends, were experiencing other factors that impact their waistband such as weight loss, the infamous "gap" between the body and the back of the waistband, and pop-off buttons.

In the Summer of 2007, I had my "Ah-ha!" moment.

As the daughter of Grammy award winning record producer David Foster and singer BJ Cook, Amy was exposed to great music and legendary artists from an early age. She grew up as an “industry kid,” with music in her blood.

After publishing a small collection of poetry, making the transition into writing songs was a natural progression. The first “proper” lyric Amy ever tried to write was a favor for her father, who was producing the then unknown vocalist Josh Groban.

The song entitled "Home to Stay" made it to the record, which went on to sell over 5 million copies. Since then, Amy has gone on to be one of the most successful lyricists in the world, penning songs for many artists, including Michael Buble, Diana Krall, Destiny’s Child, and Andrea Bocelli.

Amy S. Foster’s debut novel, When Autumn Leaves, is the first installment of The Jaen Saga.

Christine is an inspirational catalyst for women and girls everywhere, daring, inspiring and guiding them to be, love and live their REAL MEs… instead of the images they often find themselves trying to live into.

It all began with an unexpected wake up call in 2001, when Christine was walloped with a ‘universal 2x4’ to the soul, a.k.a. her fiancé announced, on the way to their engagement party, that he didn't love her or want to marry her.

Most would have crumpled into devastation right there. Not Christine. There was a party to go to, an image to uphold and to that party they went… pretending through the toasts that everything was AOK. Of course, pretending only worked til the party ended and then Christine had to face the reality that her life as she knew it was over, and she had to accept the painful fact that she had betrayed herself in order to keep a man and live up to an image – rising marketing executive, social butterfly, smart cookie and woman in control.

The job of worry is to anticipate possible perils, to come up with ways to deal with them, and to rehearse what you will do if the danger does arise. The dilemma is that once you start to worry about your shrinking 401K or if you’ll have a job next month, worry begets more worry, setting into motion a vicious cycle of frightening thoughts and anxious responses—worrywarting—out of control worrying.

Worrywarts get stuck in identifying danger as they immerse themselves in the dread associated with the threat, spinning out an endless loop of scary situations, paralyzing themselves by blowing everything out of proportion.

Don’t try to stop worrying, advises Dr. Beverly Potter, author of , (McGraw Hill, September 2008). Worry itself, is not good or bad, she says. Everyone worries. Worrying is a survival skill because it helps us to identify and prepare for dangers. The problem is that once started, worrying is difficult to control. The solution is to become a “smart worrier”. Smart worriers do the work of worry, then knowing that worry triggers anxiety, which triggers more worrying, which triggers more anxiety—around and around endlessly—smart worriers take active steps to soothe themselves to dispel the anxiety. In The Worrywart’s Companion, Dr. Potter explains how worry can hijack our emotional brain. Some of her suggestions to becoming a “smart worrier” range from evaluating the cost of the worry to exercise to avoiding caffeine, taking a warm bath, deep breathing, list-making and counting your blessings.

At a time when people are experiencing the loss of everything they most identified with, Jerry's experience living creatively in "the void" offers inspiration , hope and unimagined new possibilities.

In 1979, Jerry Wennstrom, a rising star in the New York art world, intentionally destroyed his paintings and gave away his possessions and money. He spent well over the next decade wandering, seeking, and listening, relying only on his own intuition and an unconditional trust in the Universe to provide for him. In consciously emptying himself of his identity, Jerry was led on an extraordinary spiritual journey and ultimately, a return to creating art. In his book, The Inspired Heart: An Artist's Journey of Transformation, Jerry tells the story of his metaphorical death and rebirth as an artist and as a man.

The Inspired Heart is a self-portrait of the life of a man guided and armed only with an unwavering faith in the creative spirit to sustain him. In sharing the tale of his remarkable survival and his surrender to life experience, Jerry writes "it is important to bring the mystery of this survival back to the tribe as story." Fantasies, Myths, and The Wicked Truth About Love

Does the search for the “love of your life” keep turning up empty? Been in one too many dead-end relationships? You say you haven’t found your “soulmate” – you’re not even sure what a soulmate is. If you’ve ever asked yourself “WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?” – you need to know the truth, the wicked truth about love. Many of us grow up believing that the man/woman of our dreams will magically appear one day, bells will ring, sparks will fly, and the two of you will ride off into the sunset together. According to human relations expert and sociologist Suzanne Ross if you believe this, “you need to wake up, because you obviously fell asleep reading that Harlequin novel or watching that Love Boat repeat and you’re dreaming!”

In her new book, The Wicked Truth about Love: The Tangles of Desire (DOERS Publishing; May 2009) Ross explores the path we take to finding “true love”, but while love may indeed be true, the path is crooked and faulty. Why? Because if love is a mystery – and that’s okay – humans are also a mystery…to themselves! – and that’s not quite so good. The misconception is that we all operate under the belief that we are free-thinking, unique individuals who know our own mind, and act independently. The sad reality is that far too few – if any of us – actually fit this description. The choices we make, the reactions we have, the ideals and attributes of our “perfect mate” are actually the product of outside influences that condition our emotions, direct our goals and desires, and impact our responses. Join Jordan Mercedes as she interviews Suzanne Ross to find out more nuggets of truth about love!

We've been told that we are either wired for success or failure, no matter what situation we face. But what does that mean?

"It means that our brains have been conditioned with specific attitudes and patterns that cause us to respond in specific ways. This conditioning is unconscious, but it is hard-wired into our brains, our very physiology. Its messages are often negative and limiting--and that hardwiring rules our lives, not circumstance."

Drawing on her fifteen years of research and clinical work, Dr. Ahern has developed unique, practical processes to:

make unconscious hardwiring conscious unplug our physiology from negative conditioning rewire the brain to harness its power to work for us, not against us

Dr. Adrianne Ahern also known as Dr. A, is a clinical psychologist, speaker and author of two books: Snap Out of it Now! and Back in Charge! Is it Bad to Want MORE?

Many aspire to have more in their lives, but what is more? More is relative.

One person’s mountainous goal may be just a slight rise on the horizon for another. Lofty aspirations for me might be the bare minimum for you. More seems to depend upon the perception of the seeker. I am familiar with this premise. I used to ponder and think: “I can’t imagine how those high-achieving folks can create such remarkable and consistent results.

They seem to have it all together and in balance.” Can you visualize remarkable outcomes in your life? Can you see yourself having more? If you can not, therein lies the problem. It could be that you have aspired to have more, but obstacles were in your way. Obstacles such as you.

Many of the so-called self-proclaimed evolved suggest that everyone should be satisfied with what they currently have. They assert that there are no good or bad outcomes, only neutral ones. Events, circumstances, and situations simply exist, and you should quit evaluating. They claim that everything you have is what you need at this time in your life. Personally, it irritates and confuses me to think that I should accept matters as they are, without attempting to change or, at the very least, to alter my response to these events. Someday I might take that elevated and seemingly passive view, but apparently I am not yet evolved enough to consider my life from that perspective.

As a single mom, I know that clutter in the house means clutter in my mind and heart. This robs all women of our patience, radiance and sex appeal.

As a Sexy Mom Expert I’ve inspired thousands of women to take time for themselves, to fill up their tanks first because when mama’s happy, everybody’s happy.

When clients don’t take time for themselves, they spin in their heads and become quite masculine. The home isn’t organized, there’s no schedule that creates balance and there’s no mind that’s clear, present and open to savor life.

When my clients first begin to fill up their tanks first, they meet guilt or issues of low self esteem questioning, “Who am I to take time for me when there’s dinner to make, carpool to drive?” Moms need to remember that if we’re empty we have nothing to give to those we love.

I encourage moms to create Mom Time so they start their day grounded, focused, rejuvenated and organized. My son can’t come in my room until Seven Zero Zero because mom’s looking for patience and kindness.

Use Mom time to meditate, dance or do yoga, pray or journal, make a list of the 3 things (not 10!) you’re doing to accomplish today, simply review what you’re grateful for (or have a quickie!). Mom Time is the foundation for freedom, full self expression, patience and playfulness!

Watch how self care not only improves your mothering, yet makes you more magnetic, attractive and sensual to your partner because you’ve slowed down to cherish yourself and appreciate the life you have.

The Pyramid of Potential was created after working with my daughter for two years, and seeing her go from having learning disabilities to being a successful student. Her IQ raised by 20 points, but her self-esteem was raised by immeasurable amounts.

Since that time, in the last 8 years, I have worked with many children and adults, replicating these results, and fine-tuning the Pyramid of Potential. By mapping these steps for you, and ordering them from beginning to end, anyone can easily follow the path to success using much less time and energy than we had used.

As an overview, the base of the Pyramid is Body and Mind Health. In order for the brain to be working at its best, the cells must be healthy. Just above that is Neuro-Development. Between pre-natal and age 3, we go through many stages that develop our brains and bodies, and open up pathways to our higher brains. Next is Sensory-Motor Development.

If we cannot see, hear, or feel well, it is difficult to get proper input to our brains. We need to be able to use large and small motor abilities to properly express what we know.

Our Cognitive Development of skills (like processing speed, memory, and reasoning) is dependent on the other parts of the Pyramid; neuro-development and the sensory-motor systems must be in proper working order to develop fully in the cognitive area. At this point, these skills can be taught and improved. Academic Success happens easily and quickly in a child who has developed the rest of the Pyramid of Potential.
