Hioll has become one of the main influences within the rising cuban Electronic Music scene. Born and raised in La Habana (Havana) and carrying from the beginning, with humility, the flag of Cuban Techno.
Established Abstraction (@abstractionrecordlabel) in 2017, the first electronic music label ever in Cuba’s history and which is dedicated to showing the most outstanding talents from the island. But that has subsequently evolved to welcome new international artists and, as such, become a widely supported source of dance-floor cuts.
As a producer, Hioll's tracks exist in a powerful climax, which looks simultaneously from the most daring and strange hypnotic Techno to the most bizarre and industrial. He has many successful releases in respected and well known labels, being played and supported by big industry names.
This suggests a versatile artist with a strong personality, capable of generating rich and truly unique ideas and, eventually, translating them into a varied context of unprecedented sound experiences.

This is a very personal release, loaded with intense emotions and omens. Heavy and smooth at the same time, rhythmic and melodic alike.
There are four tracks but they are also one, if you listen carefully. "Eternal Sunshine" opens the list with percussions that play together and synth notes with vocal samples that trace the course of the story. "I've Never Felt That Before" denotes a great influence from Breakbeat and stands out for its melancholic synth line and ancestral pads that seem to cry. "Cause You Asked For It" is a more visceral and physical track that uses the classic rhythmic pattern of Techno oriented for clubs and other venues. "Canción De Despedida" is a more introspective and experimental cut that transports us to other planes and invites to delve into the most remote corners of our minds.
Each track tells a story, a moment, those feelings that we cannot avoid so easily. It is a parenthesis to immortalize a memory and at the same time the closing of a period very well lived.
Remember, I am telling stories
To my beloved Tangerine...

Born in Madrid, living somewhere in Europe, Irazu’s connection with electronic music is just a symbol of sonic expressionism of self discovery to try to know what and who he is.
Starting his contribution to music as a promoter of parties in Madrid, making music and releasing records was a necessary way to express emotions that he felt a few years later.
His first records came out in the last two years in Kastil’s label ‘’Stale’’, working with artists like Acronym, Regis, Pessimist and Kastil, ‘’Study for portrait’’ was released giving again his personal vision of techno as a mini album.
After a few more releases in Platforms like Hooded or Artificial intelligence and some remixes, Irazu released ‘’140.15 EP’’ on Kastil’s label Stale giving his most intense and dance focused tracks he ever made.
Irazu continues his constant search of new sounds and ways to explore his mind through music.
His influences comes specially from the UK west Midlands, Holland, Italy and Spain, figures like Regis, Svreca, Autechre, Oscar Mulero, Donato Dozzy, Luke Slater or Surgeon are a way to define what he believes in a sonic way.
He defines his work as ‘’A intimate space between tension and false tranquility’’

In his formative years, the artist responsible for 30drop discovered new synthetic and electronic sounds that would later influence his work. From the year 1996, his activity as a DJ powered his link with music, focused on Detroit Techno and Techno sounds that held the transgressive references of Birmingham, UK. These impressions saw 30drop magnetise toward an industrial, experimental, noise-based sound, particularly in the mid-2000s.
After a creative pause, 2014 brought his new project, ‘30drop’, at this time his label 30D Records of which he is the Manager and joint A&R with Angel Molina, was also born.

Since the mid 90’s, Vincent Koreman a.k.a. Drvg Cvltvre has been working on his own blend of dystopian acid, no wave and experimental house. Respected in the international underground for his groundbreaking work in experimental techno and electro as RA-X in the 90′s on labels like Bunker and KK Records, Koreman comes from a DIY punk background, opting for hard work and political stance rather than hollow pose.
Drvg Cvltvre’s music takes the speed down a notch to emphasis on the heaviness of sound and using the space left between the pounding kicks to build melancholic melodies that seem to grow out of thin air. A blend of dark techno and deep house with lots of experiment, influenced in equal parts by Suicide, Sun Ra and Terrence Dixon.
His discography is a staggering collection of releases on labels like Warp, Permanent Vacation, Viewlexx, Pinkman, Omnidisc, the legendary Nervous Records and his own imprint New York Haunted, that has been gaining momentum as a bastion of cool, experimental house & techno in an increasingly stale and bland music scene. Drvg Cvltvre is a sought after live act and dj that has been playing everywhere from Shanghai to New York and from Sydney to Helsinki, leaving crowds in awe of his hardware live sets and stellar dj selections. Drvg Cvltvre’s tracks are staples in several well known Djs sets. His cuts get played by Nina Kraviz, Speedy J, I-F, John Talabot, DJ Stingray, Juan Atkins, Jackmaster, Marcel Dettmann, Helena Hauff and many others. He’s been featured and interviewed by Djmag, Mixmag, Resident Advisor and The Wire.

Vegim's journey into the underground began in the mid 90's. At first, music was just a hobby. Once he began collecting records his obsession grew stronger and he invested in his first pieces of music equipment. 1998 was the year Vegim became a full time slave to the underground. He rapidly developed his skills as a DJ and in his Production. The desire to tell his story through music took over and Vegim has never looked back. Earliest experiments in the studio go back to around 2002. Today, Vegim is recognized as one of Techno's most influential artists. Madalba was born in July 1985 in Bari, south of Italy. From a very young age, her musical interests moved across a broad spectrum, going from house and dance music to rock and punk leading her lastly to techno and club-culture.
At age 22 she approached the local scene as Djane with numerous performances in the club circuit of Bari. Through the years she has developed a continued and careful respect of the musical experience. She moved to Berlin in 2011 and started DJing with only vinyl records. This helped her to build a strong reputation as an underground techno DJ, providing opportunity for her to play in clubs such as Tresor, About Blank, SchwuZ, SO36 and Mikz in Berlin where she lives today.
In September 2011, she moved to Detroit where she started the collaboration with DJ Seoul, Tom and Angie Linder of Detroit Techno Militia. This travel has definitely and radically changed her approach to the techno concept, which she considers more a political and social phenomenon and a lifestyle than just a musical genre.

Hard to genre-catch this one. With this heavy banging and energetic techno mix she is presenting the techno collective “Brutalists”. A group of creative people who promote futuristic techno sounds inspired by the social modernist and brutalistic architecture of multiethnic Ex-Yugoslavia and the impact of architecture on electronic music and art in general. N99 fell in love with the music after raving and dancing for nights on end. As a DJ N99 loves to get technical and juggle multiple decks at once playing both vinyl records and digital tracks. In his mixing N99 tries to focus on a good track selection and well curated sets: a single track, banger or not, doesn’t mean much to him in and of itself - it is a track's interplay with the previous and next one, that gives it its meaning. That being said N99 hopes to create sets that become more than just a mere addition of track after track and take ravers on a journey through sound that becomes more than the sum of its parts. Have a listen and judge for yourself!

Sarf is one of those artists who stay true to their own values regardless to the trends. Since his first steps in electronics, he has shaped progressively his own approach to djing and producing. In 2015, time has come for the Spanish artist to open his own lab Analog section, a name that purposely emphasizes his dedication to the physical aspect of electronics. In addition to his own outputs, his imprint has hosted so far the most cutting edge and well established producers around such as Alexey Volkov, Joton, Pulse one, Takaaki Itoh and his partner in crime Kalter Ende.
Whether through his own material or his sets, Sarf transmits a complex vision of Techno: dark, mental and percussive yet with subtle industrial elements. His dj skills got quickly noticed in Spain as his sound has already hit clubs like Fabrik or Family. No doubt about seeing him massively impacting the scene in the near future.

The young artist Willy Parker was born in the hessian city Giessen, near Frankfurt / Main. Influenced by 90s Hip Hop and Trance beats during his teenager time he has also been attracted by the Frankfurt techno scene. His love for drone, ethereal and dark-driving sounds raised rapidly and soon he started to produce his own beats. His joy in experimenting is just as big, which is why the genres Ambient and Experimental did not remain undiscovered for long. Next to his job as a graphic designer, Willy and his partner created the art and music label SOPTIK. The focus of the ambitious and striving label is the connection between different artists and their craftsmanship and to unite and present them as an overall project.

Tim, also known as a symbiosist, started celebrating after-hours parties with his friends in his own apartment in Giesing a few years ago. This is how the reference to G65 came about.
He has been hosting his own podcast to push artists who are very talented but are still under the radar of many, for a good three years now. Tim's podcast series is growing steadily.
He describes his own sound as confused, hard and driving and you could call it somewhere between hardcore and industrial! But groovy at all times!
In the last two years Symbiosist often played wild closings e.g. at the Ravescape parties and twice for the blatant party crew System Of Destruction in Erfurt. Hopefully more raves are planned again soon!

P-T2, the young musician who has probably seen and achieved more in our business than most. Her understanding of the music culture in which we operate is so profound because she has lived every aspect of it herself - as a guest, as a DJ, as a producer, as a label head, as an organizer, as a bartender, as club manager. And from all the impressions she has collected over the years, she has shaped the persona that is now in the DJ booth. Her sound? Simply put - the very best of. Part acid, part electro, part techno. a0b [anullb] // Our project is strongly influenced by our teens. In these times we started exploring Berlin subculture events like Solipartys and illegal raves. Because of our background which is also characterised by classical music we were always fascinated by the complete contrast to it: industrial sounds and driving rhythms - so we started diving into that. In our hybrid live-sets we are trying to mix our own sounds, to express our creativity through different opportunities. Therefor we use characteristics of classy, breakbeat saturated, swinging to Acid-leaning, intensely pounding Techno. Some of our fav labels are OHNE KOMMERZIELLEN WERT, STRISC. or KLOCKWORKS. With our crew ALLER ENDE ANFANG we do not only organize parties, we also try to establish AEA as a label. We have a fixed series of events at the Humboldthain Club for two years.

Ace is a Swiss based DJ from Persian descent. He discovered the virtues of electronic music really young at age 14 with Techno, Trance and House. Along came later other genres such as Hardstyle, Hardcore and Acidcore. After attending numerous raves in various urbex, abandoned warehouses, bunkers and forests, his love for techno kept growing and growing. So fascinated by the unique ephemeral experience each time in the least improbable spots you could possibly find, he contributed to film documentaries of these illegal free parties for some of his hometown collectives. He then finally decided to put all his experience and appreciation for this music into action. He draws his inspiration from various styles of electronic music and doesn't like the idea of being pigeon-holed to only one genre. Ace tries to tell a story in each set he records, so pay close attention. He usually begins his sets at a more civilized pace to warm you up before exponentially speeding up faster and faster.

Living in Munich, close to clubs like MMA and Rote Sonne, provided Oliver with the opportunity to further discover electronic music and more specifically focus on Techno. In 2016 he moved to Barcelona for 4 Months. Being able to visit the infamous INSERT events at Razzmatazz enhanced his appreciation for rough yet rhythmic Techno. As with Arousal - starting out a while ago, we've found common grounds in many things like the sound, ideas for future projects and more, which made him a perfect match for us as well.
Starting out as early as 16 years old, Pallativ already enjoyed the sweetness of Techno music. Being able to perform at his first gig together with FACETS crewmate Arousal, he put time and effort to develop his style even further since. Fresh meat! We're excited to announce the first of two new arrivals to the FACETS gäng. In our 45th episode of our podcast series we want to introduce you to Arousal - a young & aspiring DJ from Munich. Being with us for a while now and sharing the mindset towards the music, the scene and beyond we've found a perfect match in him and are happy to have him on board.
Arousals' interest in the electronic styles first took hold when he began listening DnB and its various sub-genres. With time and his first visit to Berlin his taste shifted towards Techno and with having world-class clubs like the former MMA or the infamous Rote Sonne in his home town of Munich, the path was set. Joining the creative side of the spectrum and still exploring his own style, he eventually got to perform at his first B2B gig. Gaining more experience while playing numerous times at the Ravescape Collective parties in Munich, he also co-launched his own event imprint called Accelerate. Among his influences are names like Kanding Ray, Tommy Four Seven, UVB, Voiski and Regis.

Luca Vollaro, aka Electrorites was born in Pordenone (Italy) in 1977. The rhythm of his father’s records was the background music of his childhood; then things got serious when he found himself in front of his first console and an irresistible musical passion took over. Public acclaim came in 1994, when he won an international DJ competition organized by a well-known club in Udine, which, given the success of the young dj, asked him to continue to perform.
Around that time he became a member of the staff of Radio Supernetwork; at first as a mixing desk technician and then with his own program in which he proposed the latest innovative music of his genre. Meanwhile he also continued to perform in clubs. Experience led his style to evolve, from progressive to electronic, until he arrived at a techno sound, without however being chained to a particular genre, demonstrating rather a vocation for free and open musical inspiration, inspired always and in any case by experimentation. His first vinyl release was in the 2005.
In 2010 he started to play internationally; in Germany, Spain, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania and other countries. Electrorites has founded his first record label, shout records in the 2010, nightmare factory records in 2011 with a lot of great artists like space DJz, Dave The Drummer, Hans Bouffmyhre, Bjoern Torwellen, Oliver Kucera, Iformat and more! In the last years he has released his works with Decoy Records, AFU Limited, Morforecs, MFM Records, Vector Functions Records, The Zone Records and more.
After 10 years of experience in his studio; Electrorites steps up to his debut album ”Structures” (September 2016)... A storm of industrial-tinged energy. His album has received a lot of great feedbacks, supports and good reviews and was voted the best Techno album of the month on Mixmag magazine. After his album he has founded the new label... Structures Records.

In 2018, Chlär officially entered the techno scene by releasing his first EP on Bipolar Disorder Rec at the age of 20. His first involvement in the world of electronic music consisted of organizing illegal rave parties in his home country; Switzerland.
Having played in several major club capitals in Europe, he has caught the attention of more and more people by providing "outstanding" DJ sets and live performances. Producer and craftsman of sound, Chlär shines through his unconventional approach to techno. It is through a scientific and meticulous approach to sound that he creates simple and subtle elements that embody an effective piece of music. He believes in the impact that alternative sounds can have, which leads him on a journey with a focus on surprising and satisfying a crowd. His research now leads him to melancholic and powerful creations that are made to guide the crowd through an oppressive and exhilarating journey.
He is now co-running Bipolar Disorder Rec. with friend and artistic collaborator, The Chronics. Chlär is sharpening his musical senses and abilities on two sides of the industry, by being both an artist but also working in A&R and Event Management.
With support from artists such as Dax J, Randomer, Keith Carnal, Shlømo and Marcel Fengler; 2019 promises to be rich in adventure for him with two forthcoming releases on established Spanish labels and gigs in cities such as Berlin, London, Geneva, Brest, Magdeburg and many others..

Hard hitting, rave and industrial oriented techno music
Marco was fascinated by electronic music from an early age on. Growing up in the middle of nowhere in Germany, a single radio station was the only way to have access to this music in his early years. While studying in Cologne he was introduced to playing vinyl for the first time and after that it took only 2 weeks for him to buy his first setup. Since then he has discovered several genres and has finally found his style in hard hitting Techno music. After a few years of travelling around the world, he moved to Munich, where he met some like-minded people - which was the starting point of what is, still today, a constant journey for him.
After organising parties in several small venues and off locations in Munich with a bunch of friends, together with his brother from another mother Gonzo MDF, he started the party series Counterweight at Rote Sonne in 2016. Feeling the need to promote the harder side of Techno music in their city of residence they focused primarily on booking artists that had never played in Munich before. It only took a couple of parties until it was clear for both that their enormous motivation wouldn't fade quickly, and starting a record label was just the next logical thing to do. His sets are hard hitting, rave and industrial oriented with enough groove to keep people moving from start to finish.

DJ/Producer from Berlin - with an affinity for all things music, he went on to attend the University of the Arts. On this imprint, Non Reversible has honed in his skills for producing a specific and very special brand of deep hypnotic Techno. His sets have a constant deep and driving mood to it with an organic texture. Towards the end, the artist creates a gentler vibe: it may be melancholic, but always with a smile.
Recently he joined the EarToGround family and released on Labels like Knotweed Records, Affekt Recordings, Lunar Limited and others. He played in Berlin‘s mythical places such as Tresor, Griessmuehle, Suicide Circus. His releases earned great support from the likes of Marcel Dettmann, Slam, Dax J, Laurent Garnier, DVS 1, Ben Sims, Joseph Capriati, Remco Beekwilder and many more... Julian Adam came to Techno for the first time as a teenager in Munich, his hometown. Fascinated by music generally the DJ and producer, appearing as Gods Mind, started producing different styles of electronic music, but also started making hip hop beats and soundtracks, mostly inspired by Johann Johannsson, Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore and more.
Although he mainly started producing deep house and techno he wanted to see more and more styles of Techno and generally electronic music. With his brother as model, he started DJing and played in numerous clubs in Germany and Munich, such as Harry Klein, the former Magdalena Berlin and Kesselhaus in Augsburg.
In addition he started releasing his first EP in January 2018 that have been played and supported by various DJ's as ArchiveOne, Christian Gerlach, Kevin De Vries, Escape to Mars, Repressed Mind, Silent-One and many more.

Elektrabel , real name Tomas Hartl, is a part of the top of Czech electronic scene. Native Břeclav dictates many years the hardest, but the most intelligent way of electronic music for listen. To date, he played almost in all clubs and festivals in the country, even a few respectable places in the world like Tresor Berlin or Tokyo Womb. The first time he gave known about himself was through the Czech Virtual Label, which was published in 2001, his debut Untitled. Two years later he succeeded with unprecedented. His production saw Jeff Mills, who later on the sub-label of Axis Records 6277 gave Tomas the first foreign vinyl MISSION 01 - Elektrabel EP. About two years later came the further cooperation and the next release Crocks, marked the forthcoming LP For Various Reasons, released as MISSION 04 which had success with critics and the general public too. Later that year, issued the fifth Mission - Trefa, which only confirmed his strong position on the top. Followed by Edensonic, Pohjola and Antiritmo, which later added other smaller or bigger labels, where he is releasing at the present. His sound is still characterised by hard-hitting rhythms and hypnotic synthesizers loops, but recently also with dense pads and slower minimalistic beats, when one or another part of the production he plays based on the character of the event.

Before that, our very own KIRUNA will set the mood with his hour, starting out deep and experimentally. Sharing is caring - enjoy!

Lars was born in Berlin in 1987. His Career as a musician began very early. At 11 years young he started drumming in different bands. After a few years he founded his own bands, playing different styles from jazz, fusion and all the way to progressive metal. His orientation on complex drum grooves makes up his foundation, while still being able to keep an open mind in regards to different styles and the ability to put them together to create a new form of art.
At the age of 18 he discovered producing with different software such as FL-Studio and Cubase. Using these programs he was able to transfer his patterns and sequences from the drum set onto a drum computer. He has always had a natural yearning to tweek his recordings and productions, and shape them into unrecognisable elements of sound.
However, there was always a strong connection to more heavyweight electronic music. He discovered how great it is to listen and produce techno that basically wants to devour you from the inside out, vibrating your body with massive bass and some nasty hypnotic tribal rhythms.

Dimitris Diamantis, also known as Corvum. Greek born musician, composer, producer, DJ & remixer, sound designer. The first contact with music was at the age of 5 when started playing classical piano and was introduced to the classical culture, philosophy and sound. Practically lived in a conservatory until had finished all classical music studies. After that, has left Greece and went to the University of Graz in Austria (Universitat für Musik und kuns Darstellende) and then to Bologna's University in Italy ([D.A.M.S (Dicipline delle Arti, della Musica e dello Spettacolo)] to expand his knowledge in music. It was when he heard, for the first time, music by Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis Papathanasiou that changed his perspective on music. Suddenly, the electronic element intruded his mind, boosted the passion for creation and changed the way that wanted to create and listen to music for ever! The piano gave its place to synthesizers and started playing and producing more "electronically". He began listening to artists/groups and music in general, based on synths, electro and synthpop. In the late 80's was involved with House, Acid and Techno music, EBM, IDM and other various sub-genres of electronic music. It was in the early 90's when created Corvum and since then he embarked on a musical journey of experimentation. Computers were the new tool added to his arsenal and along the studies he was involved with digital software and hardware music production and Djing. As Corvum, first era, created 4 unreleased hypnotic industrial downtempo minimal LPs. The passion for innovation and the everlasting attraction to electronic music, clubbing culture and Djing, led things happen and started professionally producing, Corvum's new era, that made him invade the music industry and discography! Released on labels as ARTS, Faut Section, Elektrax Music, Android Muziq, Darknet, Hypnotic Room, Labrynth Coincidence Records, NuLabel, Propellant Music and more...

Another month has gone by already and so it's yet time again for another FACETS podcast episode. This time, we've got Repart with a live recording from "The Club" in Paisley as well as our very own Meryt aka Matthias Springer for you. Coming to you are 2 hours of this months podcast with Repart, DJ & producer from Glasgow, Scotland, who already has releases out on labels like Planet Rhythm and Wunderblock in the second hour and Meryt getting things up to speed in the first. Enjoy!
--
Read what Repart says about his sound: "My sound is deep and atmospheric, and most definitely informed as much by the industrial and sometimes bleak surroundings of my home city as it is by more obvious techno hubs such as Detroit and Berlin. Think dark and foreboding with occasional flashes of colour and hypnosis. My music is produced with the darkest rooms in the deepest basement clubs in mind and so it stands to reason that these are the places i'm often found on the weekend."

Practically everything, from hats to ambiances, is either moderately or abundantly distorted, but stays on the techno side and doesn't reach levels of rhythmic noise.
