My name is Ely and I’m a full-time and independent graphic designer. My fiancé is Laura Together, we have discovered that no matter how crazy our work lives can be, there is always laughter in it.
Although we have much in common, our differences in pets, music, food, movies, and T.V. shows make for the best conversations.
In his episode, I talk about how my high school teacher, Mr.Smith, had a profound influence on my life when I took his class on screen printing and photography.

Happy Labor Day everyone! Little do some of you know, but Laura nursed me back to health after I had my wisdom teeth yanked out this past Thursday. It was my first time EVER going to the dentist. Surprisingly, I’m recovering rather well and I feel almost back to normal. Laura and I did some bargain hunting for a 3 piece sofa set and scored a crazy deal.
Laura and I tried out this vegan place for the first time and realized that eating vegan isn’t that bad. Our vacation from work has started and couldn’t be more excited for it. I recently got off the phone with a potential client for my design services and the conversation didn’t go as well as I expected.
Hey everyone! It’s been long overdue since our last podcast due to our busy lives but this evening, Laura and I decided to dive back into our podcast. We will try to keep up with everyone as much as we can but GOOD NEWS! I recently moved out from my apartment and have officially moved in with Laura!
The Norfolk IKEA has officially opened and the NBA play-offs have begun! Laura and I buy our first dinner table from today’s trip to IKEA.
This podcast is dedicated to the DC traffic that I despise so much. Laura and I took a mini trip to DC to check out the Cherry Blossom festival but unfortunately, the trip came with annoying detours, aggressive driving, and bad food service.
Laura and I talk briefly about girl code & guy code. We had an interesting breakfast this morning at a place that made me question how restaurants advertise their theme.
In this podcast, I reminisce about my old house and how much I miss being there. Laura and I joke about bathroom encounters and taking the #2.
Quite the weekend we had! Although, we could have used one more day to do absolutely nothing. Laura and I went to watch Captain Marvel today as well as go for a bite to eat at a great bar-b-q place called Whitner’s. Today was unusually warm, which called our attention to be outside. Springing forward is tough, especially when your sleep becomes affected.
Laura turned 30 this weekend and she touches on the value of what her early 20s taught her and how to stay motivated as you grow out of old habits. We recently watched the movie “Roma”, which has won numerous awards during the Oscars; where my heart strings were being pulled. I discuss a surprise promotion that I received at my job and rant about the effects of sun, alcohol, and cigarettes on your aging process.
Laura and I spent the weekend doing normal adult errands, until we encounter the abnormal personalities at Walmart. We made a visit to a few restaurants in light of Virginia Beach’s annual restaurant week, where we discuss the foods we had. Laura touches on the differences between renting and owning a home, while I vent about my friend leaving our company.
Laura and I talk about gaining weight in a relationship and the lessons she has learned about food choices after her surgery.
This is Laura and I’s first podcast together, where we discuss my unusual moment where I had difficulty swallowing my food and the interaction we shared at the Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru.
