In this message we continue our series, Good 4 U, by seeing what the Word says about how to choose the relationships in your life. đAre they good for you? Most importantly, where are they spending eternity? 2 Corinthians 6 tells us to not be unequally yoked. This means asking if youâre both going in the same direction at the same paceâeternally and missionally. We must also see how they overcome temptation. Are they fleeing from temptation, or leading you into it? Have they been open and honest, in biblical community, and able to clearly define the relationship? Lastly, we can check if they are developing character. Last night we kicked off our brand new series, Good 4 U! đ Pastor Chris Hinkley taught on the meaning of covenant love, and what that means for us as followers of Christ.A covenant is a binding, God-pledged commitment rooted in love, mercy, and grace. Covenant love is always only Jesus. Marriage is designed and defined by Godâitâs sacrificial, submitted, and only separated by death. The covenant of marriage should be a reflection of Christâs love for the church. Godâs covenant also demands a response. How do you discern the call of God on your life? Sometimes hearing from God can feel difficult. This week, Pastor Jon led us through Acts 16, and the requirements we need to hear Godâs call for us.1. We need closed doors. While they can initially seem like lost opportunities, how you navigate closed doors can be what your calling is contingent upon.2. We need word from God. God often speaks to his people through the Word itself, along with through biblically wise people, dreams, and the Holy Spirit.3. We need a willing heart to go. God grows a heart that is willing to go, and is waiting on our yes and surrender to his plan.Donât be a Christian who just professes faith, but one who also possesses faith. Remember that faithfulness is the prerequisite to a word from God. In this message we tackled a big question: What happens to people who never hear about Jesus?Walking through Romans, we were reminded that God has made Himself known through creation. Yet all of us have rejected Him, fallen short of His glory, and stand in need of a Savior.The bad news is that everyone is guilty.The good news is that everyone can be saved.Not by good works. Not by religion. Not by trying harder. We are justified by grace through faith in Jesus alone.But the message doesnât stop there.Romans 10 reminds us that everyone who has put their faith in Jesus has been given a mission: make Him known. In this message we wrap up Romans with a message on âThe Cure to a Numb Soulâ đ€Romans 16 reminded us that faith was never meant to be distant or surface level. Paul made ministry personal. He knew names, valued people, and understood that real gospel impact happens through intentional relationships.Being personal matters because it pulls us out of self-sufficiency, reminds us of the beauty in everyday faithfulness, and helps us live with purpose instead of just blending into the crowd.We were also reminded that peace is worth pursuing. In a world full of division and distraction, God invites us to make peace a priority because He is the God of peace.And finally, our posture matters. No matter the season, the invitation is to live with praise. In this message, we continue our Romans part II series by studying Romans 9, and learning about Godâs sovereignty in salvation. God is sovereign in the process of salvation, and He invites us to be part of the process.First, we must have an active burden for the lost; for those who donât know Christ. We can grow in our burden for the lost by praying for them, and by preparing ourselves to help them grow their faith.Second, we must have the knowledge of these truths about salvation:1. That God initiates salvation (vs. 9-13).2. God gives mercy (vs. 14-18).3. God does everything for His glory (vs. 19-24).4. God gives salvation (vs. 25-33).Sometimes it can be hard to see these truths because of our own arrogance, but we study the Word of God so that we can think rightly about the ways of God. Culture tells us to âsecure the bag,â but Scripture invites us to see our possessions differently. Whose bag is it really? Last nightâs message gave us a new perspective and a bigger invitation for this topic.In Psalm 24, we see that David understood that God owns it all, and that he has entrusted us to be stewards of the things He has given us in this life. One day we will give an account for how we have stewarded our possessions.Jesus wants us to invest in the things that matter most. Success = faithful stewardship, in the kingdom of God. In this message, we had the privilege of hearing from Ken and Carrie Liles who were missionaries that served in Iran. They shared their experiences and encouraged us on how to live faithfully in a world filled with uncertainty. đOne thing they reminded us of: freedom isnât simply doing what we want, itâs living the way God calls us to live.Even in places where the gospel faces opposition, it continues to move forward. The message of Jesus cannot be stopped by circumstances, politics, or war. How do you handle entitled thoughts when they appear? In Mark 9, we see an example of how Jesus shows how to deal with entitled thoughts. Jesus identifies the thought, informs the thought, then impacts the thought.We may not always think of entitled thoughts as something we wrestle with, but they are important to address when renewing our minds. Entitled thinking can look like thoughts of, âI deserve better than what Iâm getting.â These kind of thoughts will drift you further from Jesus more than any other kind of thoughts, and can be dangerous when we are blind to seeing it in ourselves. âYour feelings are real, but theyâre not reliable.âFrom Exodus 3, weâre reminded that God calls ordinary people into extraordinary purpose. Even when insecurity, fear, and impostor syndrome try to speak louder than His voice.Just like Moses, we often make excuses: Who am I? Iâm not enough. I donât know enough. What if I fail? I canât do this. But God isnât looking for perfection Heâs looking for surrender. He doesnât need our confidence, our eloquence, or our qualifications. He wants our obedience.Sometimes the very thing standing between us and Godâs calling is what we refuse to lay down. When God says âtake off your shoes,â Heâs asking us to remove whatever separates us from Him: sin, fear, pride, insecurity, or control.God doesnât just send us, He goes with us.His presence leads.His name empowers.His promises sustain.His power makes the impossible possible.You are called. Feeling unloved or unworthy doesnât change the truth of who God says you are. đ€In Luke 15, weâre reminded that our worth isnât defined by our failures, our past, rejection, or perfectionism. Itâs defined by the Father.We donât have to earn Godâs love. We donât have to clean ourselves up first. We donât have to perform, prove, or punish ourselves to be worthy of His grace. Pastor Phil continued our âRest on Usâ series with a powerful and timely message on spiritual warfare.As children of God, itâs essential that we recognize both who we are fighting against and how to prepare for the battle. Spiritual warfare is realâjust as real as the physical world we live in. Every day, we are engaged in a battle that isnât visible to the natural eye but has very real consequences.If we donât understand our adversary, we risk being overcome. Thatâs why awareness and preparation are vital. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us of the true nature of our struggle:âFor we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.âSatan is a master of deception. He knows how to plant seeds of doubt in our minds, twist the truth, and build arguments that subtly turn us away from God. His attacks often come in the form of mental and emotional warfareâaimed at discouraging us, confusing us, and making us question our identity in Christ.But we are not powerless.Through Godâs Word, we learn to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Instead of being ruled by our feelings, we are called to stand on godly truthâtruth that doesnât shift with emotion or circumstance.The blood of Jesus has broken the chains of sin and shame. We are no longer captives. Satan wants us to forget thatâweakened, distracted, and bound by lies. Instead of relying on our own strength, we are called to walk in step with the Spirit.We canât please God when we live according to the flesh. Some of the ways we resist the Spirit include quenching, rejecting, or grieving Him. When we quench or reject the Spirit, we extinguish His flame and harden our hearts toward Him. We grieve the Spirit when we choose sin and return to the ways of death.To be filled with the Holy Spirit, we must be led and controlled by Him. With a new month of Paradigm comes a new series đ„ł And what better way to kick off a new series titled âProverbs: Donât Be a Foolâ than on April Foolâs Day?Last night, Pastor Chad asked us, âWhat kind of fool are you?âFirst, we need to figure out what the Bible considers a fool. Itâs not just a derogatory term; itâs more of a diagnosis. According to Proverbs 1:7, âThe fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.âWe know that a fool is someone living their life disconnected, which means a) they deny that God is the creator (Proverbs 8:27-31) and b) they deny the problem of sin (Proverbs 16:25).When weâre trying to figure out where we can gain more wisdom in our lives, we donât want to be the kind of fool who is simple and believes everything he hears (Proverbs 14:15). Are we easily influenced, or do we think critically?We also donât want to be the scorner who believes heâs always right (Proverbs 15:12) or hates knowledge (Proverbs 13:20). Are we able to accept biblical correction, and do we listen when the Lord convicts us?Most importantly, we must remember that we can all be fools in one way or another, and the Bible helps us acknowledge that. But it wasnât written solely for us to learn how NOT to be fools; it was written for us to understand that we must admit to God our foolishness and that we need Him to save us from it. đïžMissed last nightâs message? As some of you may know, at the end of this year, weâre opening a third location for Paradigm at our Overland Park campus! Last night, Pastor Chad started a new series discussing the necessity of this move called âHeaded West.â đSo why are we headed west?1ïžâŁ The need is great!In Romans 10:1-4, Paul talks about his adamancy to save his people. He describes the Israelites as people who have a zeal for God but are ignorant of His righteousness and the salvation He offers. In their ignorance, they seek to establish their own righteousness. Our generation today is a lot like the Israelites of Paulâs age. With the increase of mental health issues, there is also an all-time high of spiritual openness in our society.2ïžâŁ The message is clear.The perfect response to that spiritual openness is Jesus. God has called us to herald this message and make it clear: we are only saved by calling upon the name of the Lord. We do not have to earn salvation; by believing in Him, we earn righteousness and escape condemnation. No one is too far gone from the mighty salvation of Jesus. đ€3ïžâŁ The time is now!We are living in a unique cultural movement where the need for Jesus is great, and people are more open than they have ever been before. We, as Christians, are the strategy to preach the word of God. God has always used people to reach other people. Last night, we took forgiveness a step further and Pastor Chad spoke about how to let that stuff go truly. Using the story of Joseph, his brothers, and his firstborn son Manasseh, we learned how to let that stuff go! Just as Joseph's brothers had caused pain and suffering, many of us have experienced seasons of hurt too. Now, we don't have to go around naming all of our firstborns Manasseh (I forgot; I let that go in Hebrew), but we can learn from Joseph's ability to trust God's plan and let go of the hope of having a better past. If he hadn't, our savior might not have been born. Imagine what God has in store for you when you let it go and put your trust in His divine plan for you. Forgiving others who has sinned against you can often be, at best, difficult. At worst, it can seem nearly impossible. Conflict can be difficult to navigate. Are you living an abundant life? On Tuesday, Pastor Chad Glover taught on How to Have Abundant Life. John 10:10 shows us that the devil is a thief, and his plan is to kill, steal, and to destroy the life God calls us to live, but Jesus has come to bring us life and to have it abundantly. The enemy is out to steal our attention to corrupt our minds, our affection to God, our identity, and our purpose. What is the enemy trying to steal from you? How is he trying to do it? What are we going to do when we get to heaven? Hell is a topic many people have misconceptions about. What is it exactly? It is an eternal separation from God and Jesus made teaching about hell a priority. âFor the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lordâ (Romans 6:23). What cross are you on? Jonathan Clark continued our Paradise series last night, where we look at the two men who were crucified and the left and right of Jesus while Jesus was on the cross. The man on Jesus's left mocked Him alongside the crowd, but the man on the right saw that something was different about Jesus, so he asked, "Will you remember me?". Jesus responded, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise." (Luke 23:39-43) Are you on the cross of revolving sin and anguish? Where you try to solve your problems on your own, but you can't seem to change? Or are you on the cross of salvation, where you recognize your need of a Savior? Jesus IS that Savior. What is heaven like? Are there pearly gates? What do we do in heaven? We've all asked these questions before and have had our own ideas about what heaven is like, but what is it REALLY like? Last night, Jonathan Clark kicked off our new series, "Paradise," to jump head-first into the book of Revelation to see what it has to say about what heaven is like. Here's 5 truths about heaven that will change your life: 1. Heaven is physically new (Rev 21:1) Heaven is a physical place, not clouds in the sky. 2. Heaven is prepared (Rev 21:2) God knows all of us better than we know ourselves, and the Lord has prepared heaven, especially for YOU. 3. Heaven is the place of God's presence (Rev 21:3) Heaven will NOT be boring. We will be in the very PRESENCE of God. 4. Heaven is a place of healing (Rev 21:4) In heaven, there's no heartache, no pain, no disease, no sin. God will be there to wipe the tears from our eyes because He loves us. 5. Heaven is our home (Rev 21:5-7) Heaven is not just God's home, it's OURS as well. We can not enter into heaven through our own works due to the corruption of sin (Ephesians 2:8-9), but luckily we don't have to. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ allows us to enter heaven! Believing in Christ's works and confessing that He is Lord is what gets us to heaven (Romans 10:9)! Last night we kicked off our new, self-titled series: Parad1Gm. We want to be a ministry marked by knowing Christ and making Him known to others. Last night we looked at John 17:1-5 and learned how knowing Christ is connected with eternity. âEternalâ carries the idea of quality as well as quantity, and eternal life can start today. Only knowing God brings deep soul satisfaction, and will allow you to be immersed in eternal life. Church attendance, baptism, being a good person, and being religious are good things, but they wonât give you eternal life as only knowing Jesus can. Do you know Christ? Wrapping up our series in Numbers Pastor Jon led us through what it means to embrace living in submission to God. đ In 1 Peter we learned that our identity in Christ surpasses any circumstance. Submission is the choice to be emptied of authority and filled with God's purpose for your life, regardless of the circumstance. Tuesday night we continued our Numbers series by looking at doubt. Here are a few takeaways:1. Doubt undermines Godâs promises, and is the lack of confidence or assurance that He will keep them.2. What is inside you will eventually come out. Let confidence, trust, and faith spill out of you instead of doubt.3. Doubt sees obstacles. What obstacle seems so gigantic to where youâre having a hard time believing God can move in that situation?4. Doubt is contagious. Why? Itâs easy, safe, and popular.5. Truth without love destroys, and love without truth deceives. So how do we bring the two together? In the major things, take action. Have a critical conversation including an observation, discussion, your concern, and your love for the other person. In the minor things, you must have acceptance. A critical attitude will leave you in a wilderness spiritually. Attitude â pattern of thinking developed over a period of time. Criticism is when you focus on the perceived flaw of another person without any intention to help them. Check out the layers of criticism: itâs petty, self-exalting, and sinful. Criticism is often rooted in unforgiveness, bitterness, personal failure, envy, jealousy or some resentment going on in our heart.Reflect on Miriam and Aaronâs story in Numbers 12:1-12, where criticism led to dire consequences. God takes the criticism of others personally, and He judges it accordingly. Every sin is guaranteed to come prepackaged with some consequences. Choose encouragement and humility over criticism, for when you sow something, you will reap something. Seek cleansing and forgiveness from a critical spirit to draw closer to Godâs presence. We will never reach a sinless life before heaven, but God is able to cleanse us of all sin. Last night in our Numbers series we looked at contentment. 1 Timothy 6:6 teaches us that godliness + contentment = great gain. Godliness, or God likeness, means to be like Jesus. Paul is teaching that we cannot live in the promised land spiritually, while living like a pagan practically. We often want the blessings of God without the obedience to God, which doesnât work. You cannot experience the fullness of God if you are not fully submitted to God. Contentment can be defined as satisfaction with Godâs sufficient provision. Contentment is often not something that comes naturally to us, but a perspective and an attitude that we must learn; contentment is a choice. The secret to gaining contentment is to be dependent on Christâs strength, and not on our own.These two together equal great gain, but verses 9-10 and 17 show us that loving money equals great loss. So how do we choose an attitude of contentment in a sea of covetousness? Seek it. Say it. Settle it. And show it. See what the Bible says is valuable to have. Evaluate what you have, and know when to say, âthat is enough.â Settle it by choosing contentment and glorifying God with what you have. Continuing our series in Numbers, Pastor John calls on us to reflect on our habitual covetousness, which can be described as wanting the wrong thing or wanting the right thing but for the wrong amount, at the wrong time, and for the wrong reasons. Our society conditions us to want more, and more, and more. All of the tangible goods we collect might be keeping us comfortable but they aren't necessarily blessings from God. Numbers 11:7-35 teaches that it is easy to remember the false goodness of what you once had before Christ, but those desires bring an illusion of strength, making us uncomfortable in our weakness, and drying up the strength of our souls. Like the quail, the things of our own desires will be far and hard to get, whereas like the manna, the things from God will be so clearly in front of you and serve as a reminder that He is with you. Giving into an attitude of covetousness will:1. Compromise your calling2. Corrupt your perspective 3. Consume youThis week, take some time to reflect on the thing in your life that if left to your own devices, you would go out of your way just to get it. Some days, weeks, months, or even years are going to be harder than the rest. Life can get real hard real quick and you can easily find yourself in the mental captivity of a complaining attitude. As Christians, we can quickly find ourselves fading from the presence of the Lord in these challenging seasons, but the key to continuing to serve the Lord with gladness is to come before Him with THANKSGIVING! If you're going through a challenging season or simply want to work on practicing an attitude of gratitude every day, Psalm 100:5 gives us three reasons we can always be thankful and grateful:1. The Lord is GOOD! When you find yourself focusing on what you don't have, start by thanking God for what you do have. 2. His mercy is EVERLASTING! Remember, whatever is wrong won't last forever. In the first few chapters of Genesis, we are introduced to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and we find our greatest problem: sin. Itâs easy to see the sin in the world, but do you see the sin in yourself? No matter how good life is, we are always bent towards rebellion. So many lies can uproot our faithâ the lies that weâre removed from God, restricted in life, we can rationalize things, or that we rule our own lives. When we believe these lies, we are simply questioning the goodness and the character of God. Last night we looked at why we need the Bible. 1: The Bible is inspired by God. It is a book of prophecy, history, resiliency, and has changed peopleâs trajectory. 2: The Bible is Profitable. It teaches us, reproves us, corrects us, and trains us. 3: The Bible is effective. The Word completes us and equips us. Who do you follow, and who do you avoid in perilous times? Do you listen to the warnings of the Bible? Paul warns in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 who to avoid: those who are lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, unforgiving, slanderers, brutal; we must ask ourselves what on this list are we guilty of? How do you judge someone? Make sure you have the right motive, that you start with yourself first, and that you are careful doing it. In Matthew 7, Jesus is not condemning the correction of people, Heâs condemning the condemning of people. Before judging your brother, humble yourself to see your own sin before you see theirs. Remove the plank in your own eye before trying to remove the speck in theirs. Be careful by sharing truth and tears with others, being patient with Godâs pace in their life, and making it personal in order to judge in a Christ-like way.We may often be imperfect in this, but Jesus was the perfect judge, who was condemned so that we didnât have to be.

âCan any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?â ââ Last night we looked at what Matthew 6:25-33 says about worry, and how it doesnât work, it reveals our faith, and it distracts you from your purpose. We were not made to carry the anxiety that weâre carrying in this life, but donât give yourself over to worry. Worry pretends to make a difference, and often only makes things worse. Worry is choosing to believe that your problems are bigger than God is. Choose to seek God first, turn from worry and turn to the Kingdom and His righteousness. Running to anything but God for your worry will result in disappointment. What are you worried about? Donât put your faith in your circumstances, but instead put your faith in the One who controls the outcome of your circumstances.

How do you know youâre dating? When and how do you put a label on it? How do you define the relationship, and whatâs the next step once you have? First, step back and see where the relationship is heading. Has your attraction to their character grown? And are you truly ready for the next phase? Look for wisdom from Godâs Word, His Spirit, and from His People. Once you are sure, have the conversation to define the relationship with clarity. When in doubt, talk it out in the right timing and atmosphere. After establishing the relationship, what next? The plan for dating is to pursue marriage, and the purpose is for observation and edification. Remember, a dating relationship is not meant to stay stuck on the stump of confusion.

The enemy often baits us to fall into lust, and he catches a lot of people. Matthew 5:27-30 teaches us that we can fall into lust with our heart, eyes, and hands. Jesus uses this common struggle to point us to the reality that we need a new heart, and that if thereâs lust in our heart, our heart isnât right with God. Lust leads to adultery and is ultimately destructive. Take the steps to get free from lust; your family, marriage, and relationship with God are at stake. Donât take the bait.

Whether in action or in thought, we all can experience anger. Though anger is inevitable, it doesn't have to control us. In Matthew 5:21-26 Jesus teaches us that anger has a high cost. Blessed are the poor in spirit and those who mourn, for they will still see heaven and the Lordâs comfort through grief. Blessed are the meek and those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for He will entrust you with more when you surrender to Him. Blessed are the merciful, for you will also receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, and are peacemakers, for they will be close to God. And blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousnessâ sake. The reason why the sermon on the mount is the king of all speeches, is because itâs the speck of the King of all kings.

Godâs greatest invitation for us is to enjoy His presence, and he takes pleasure in us when we find our supreme pleasure in Him. Psalm 131 shows us three ways that David enjoyed God: with a humble heart, with a calm soul, and with hopeful community. David humbles his heart and renounces pride, knowing that you cannot glorify God and walk in pride at the same time. He knew to simply enjoy God, without having to understand everything about Him. Finally, David gives opportunity to place hope in the Lord, knowing that running to God for hope is better than running to any other source for it.

Love is important, love is a verb, and love is mature. Are you a loving person? Are the descriptions of love mentioned in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 evident and increasing in your life? Mature love is marked by patience, kindness, and forgiveness. Some good ways to practice these are moving at the pace of the ones you love, lending your strength to others, and serving someone other than yourself. Jesus is the epitome of all that love is, and if we want to be Christ-like and mature in our love, we must first know the love of Christ. Pain isnât easy to go through in this life, but pain does help us develop endurance, character, and produces hope. Romans 5:2-5 tells us this. Pain always produces something, and Paul knew that suffering would be what made him most Christ-like. We can take comfort in that we have a Savior who experienced suffering just as we do, that God has a purpose for the pain we go through, and that one day the hope that we cling to will be made clear when we see God face to face. What does Godâs faithfulness towards us look like? Hosea 1:1-11 directly shows us. God represented Himself through Hosea, and we are Gomer. Their marriage is the message. Even in our mess, He still chooses us to have a relationship with. That even though we might use the gifts Heâs given us for wrong, He still loves us and redeems us.

The world is lost, broken, and in desperate need of saving; you donât have to look far to see that. Right before Jesus left earth in Acts 1:8, He commissioned His followers around Him with a purpose: to be witnesses. Weâre called to be witnesses in word and action to a dying world, in our work place, schools, places that we frequent. To tell someone about Jesus is the most loving thing you can do for your neighbor, so pray, seek wisdom, and go!

What will be the best Day ever for some will be the worst Day ever for others. In 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11, Paul informs us that the sudden Day of the Lord, the return of Jesus, will be like a destructive thief to those who are not following Him. In the same passage, Paul encourages believers to live in a way that is ready and expectant of Jesus' return. Â A believer is to live in new identity, walk in new activity, and reflect their new destiny, seizing every opportunity to share with unbelievers of the hope and salvation in Jesus.

Evil entered the good world that God created and separated all of mankind from a right relationship with our Maker. But from the origin of time, God had a rescue plan that was fulfilled through His Son, Jesus Christ. And as His rescued children, we have a choice: Will we live to reach people from every tribe, tongue, and nation with the good news of the rescue plan? Because weâll all give our lives for something. Justice. We all want it â things put âas they should beâ when thereâs been a wrong. But who decides whatâs right? And where do we get this universal sense of justice? We find its origins in the book of Genesis, in the story of the global flood, when God recognized great evil on the earth and responded with a just judgment. But He also extended mercy â if people would choose it. And thousands of years later, we find the same choice in front of us: Will we experience judgment or choose to receive His mercy?

Why is the world so broken? It's because evil invaded all the good that God created ... through one simple act. In Genesis, we learn how two people doubted God's goodness, questioned His Word, and chose to rewrite the one rule God laid out. The result? Shame. Religion. Running. Hiding. Blaming. And all the rest of the mess we mourn in our world. But in the midst of the darkness, God promised hope: One would come to reverse the evil and restore our brokenness.

In Genesis, we learn that the origin of gender and sexuality is from a perfect, creative, good, and loving God: He created human beings, male and female. And we learn that we were created with a glorious purpose: to be His image bearers, reflecting Him in both our physicality and our psychology. So as our culture communicates that gender identity is optional, we can respond with truth â and with love, curiosity, Gospel clarity, and faith in God.

Disappointments can lead to deconstructing belief in God. And deconstruction can be healthy â taking apart our practices and beliefs to determine their truthfulness, usefulness, and impact. But where do we bring our doubts, and then what happens next? In Matthew 11, we find John the Baptist wrestling with his own disappointments and doubt, and he brought them straight to the source. Are you a fan of fables? You know, nice stories that help us understand basic moral lessons? Some view the Bible that way, but a fable most certainly isnât worth living for â or dying for. If we believe in the God of the Bible, then we must believe that He is good. But if He's good, how can He allow suffering? In Romans 8, we find that suffering is not a result of Godâs action, but our own choice to sin. And our sin has not only cursed ourselves but also all of creation. So where does a good God come in? With a grand redemption plan that will one day result in so much good, it wonât be worth comparing to the bad.

Deconstruction ... all the cool kids are doing it. If youâve got doubts, too, donât demonize them; DO something with them. Examine what you believe. Then reconstruct what youâve deconstructed on the truth! In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul does this: he examined the Resurrection of Christ, because he knew that if we donât get this one thing right, then the building blocks of our beliefs wonât matter. The Resurrection is central; itâs certain; and itâs critical. And because of the Resurrection, we have a hope that lasts beyond this life.

Are you perfectly happy? If not ... what's the one thing you think could get you there? In John 4, we find Jesus intentionally pursuing a woman who is so unsatisfied with her life, it's been her full-time job to keep seeking the one more thing that could help. Are you a speed limit follower or breaker? Yeah, us too. Traffic laws regulate us to keep us safe, but we all know the speed limit signs don't magically make us better drivers. Eventually we all break those limits, and in slow zones it feels like the limit is there just to trip us up. Sometimes the law of God can feel like that too, as if all 600 laws in the entire Bible were written just for us to break them. In Galatians, Paul returns to the history of how the law was given to display the hope of why it was given: to diagnose our dysfunction and point to the promise of freedom. Salvation is not determined by our determination: the promise of the God is that we can be made right with Him through faith.

Relationship pro-tip: The way you attract someone is how you'll keep them. Same goes for your relationship with God. If you think you can do enough good to earn a relationship with Him, then you'll be in constant danger of one bad mess-up ruining everything. But in Galatians, we learn that God is the initiator, the sustainer, and the completer of our salvation. The good news? You can never lose God's love because you can't earn it, either. The way we start is the same way we'll finish: by faith.

Christians are a bunch of hypocrites. That's what everyone says ... and they're not wrong. Most likely you're a pro, just like the rest of us, acting out a lie every time we say something that doesn't match up with what we do. And in Galatians, Paul is calling out people who are living this lie â and then he lays out how to be healed. Because there is freedom from the burden of hypocrisy, and it's found in the Gospel.

Are you wearing a cheap version of faith? We tend towards a faith that is trendy, comfy & casual ... or traditional, rigid & rules. But cheap faith is a knockoff. It will never accomplish the glorious goal of the Gospel that God master planned: to unite us with Christ and with each other. Paul lays out this Gospel in Galatians and reminds us that it's not about us, but it's for us, and when we experience it, our lives are changed forever.

Ever had allergies so bad your eyes crusted over? It's painful and gross, plus, obviously, you just can't see well. In Galatians, we find Paul writing to a group of churches to point out something also obvious: They can't see the Gospel clearly because there's gunk they've been adding to it, making it crusty and ruined. But Paul experienced the radical power of the clear Gospel; it changed him from a church persecutor to a church planter, and in this spicy first-century letter, he calls all followers of Jesus to get rid of the gunk and experience that same power.

A spiritual high, followed by stress, is a recipe for depression. Ever been there? Elijah, a prophet in ancient Israel, experienced God moving in an out-of-this-world way, but then fell into isolation and doubt. He desperately needed to hear Godâs voice. And like Elijah, if we want to be used by God, grow in faith, and find hope, we need to hear God's voice, know His word, and know the Shepherd.

What are your labels? The words that define you? Youâll wear the labels of the voices you listen to â but thereâs only One who has the right to label you. Itâs not who you are (or who you hope to be) that matters, but Whose you are. If youâre a child of God, you can claim the label God gives you of freedom (John 8:36) instead of being stuck to what others have slapped on you.

Satan is the OG scam artist â making the same plays on us since Genesis 3 by questioning Godâs authority. When weâre tempted to think happiness lies just on the other side of a âlittleâ sin â and we take the bait for it â we end up finding ourselves trashed by a load of guilt and despair. But thereâs a way out: Instead of listening to the voice of temptation and the accuser, learn to talk to yourself of the victory thatâs already been won and experience the voice of celebration.

As young adults, the pressure is on to perform: there's a long list of what we've got to do to feel good about ourselves in our careers, our relationships, and with God. Sometimes work is hard. In Luke 5, we see some guys doing hard work with less than stellar results. Ready to call it a day, they're joined by Jesus and instructed to go back to work when it seems pointless. These men find that when Jesus joins them in the struggle, everything changes. And the same principle holds true today: whether you love your work or are itching to change, ask Jesus to go to work with you. Follow Christ, and He can work through your work to change the world.

Life is a tension of work and rest. If weâre driven to work in pursuit of significance, weâll burn out, and if we seek satisfaction in rest, weâll end up lazy ⊠and disappointed. But if we can manage the tension between the two by reflecting Godâs example from Genesis 1, we can find significance and success that is rooted in the Gospel.
