So, in today's show, I'll share with you my takeaways from the announcements Apple made during the last 2 weeks of March 2019.
Two weeks ago, newly refreshed iPads and iMacs as well as the second generation AirPods, with a twist, have appeared on the Apple Store.
On Monday, March 25th, Apple unveiled a slew of new entertainment services as well as an Apple-branded credit card. Yes, you heard me right, Apple is firmly setting foot in the banking industry as well.
And finally, Apple cancelled a product that they unveiled with the iPhone X, yes, in 2017.
My goal, with this episode, is to share with you what it means specifically for us, entrepreneurs using Apple hardware, software and services to run our businesses.

So, in today's show, Iβll make my best to help you choose which desktop Mac to buy for your business.
This is the last of a three-part series where I explore the different Macs that Apple offers at the beginning of 2019.
If you havenβt decided between a laptop and a desktop yet, pause this one and download episode 29 as I go through a series of question that will help you make up your mind.
In that episode, I said that Apple was offering 4 types of desktop computers when in fact there are really 6 different models to choose from.
In order to prepare for this show, Iβve created a table with all the desktop Mac models, as well as their price in three different configurations:

Iβm kicking off a three part series to help you choose which Mac to buy for your business.
Over the past years, Apple has slowly extended the range of computers that it offers, with three kinds of laptops and 4 desktop computers.
Weβre far away from the mythical decision of Steve Jobs, in 1997 to offer only 4 products: 1 laptop and 1 desktop computer for two customer segments: consumers and professionals.
That meant that, at the time, a business owner had just one question to ask: do I want a laptop or a desktop computer ?
And given that there were no iPads, no iPhones and cloud computing wasnβt a thing back then, it was a rather straightforward question to answer.
Fast forward at the beginning of 2019, and itβs a bit more complicated to choose which Mac to buy.
This is why I decided to make this three-part series.
Today, Iβll help you decide whether you should buy a Mac laptop or desktop, and whether you actually need a computer.
Next time, Iβll explore the different MacBook options and the one after that all the Mac desktops.

Two weeks ago, I shared what I understand about article 32 of the General Data Protection Regulation and last week I went through the Mac security audit aimed at helping entrepreneurs comply with GDPR

Another motivation for exploring the security topic is the fact that on May 25th, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (or GDPR) has come into force and should be taken seriously by entrepreneurs and business owners, even those not based in the EU.
My goal with this episode is to share what I understand about GDPR and more importantly share universal security best practices, whether or not your business needs to comply with GDPR.

So, three episodes ago, I kicked off a series of solo shows that explore the behind the scenes of my freelance Apple training & consulting business.
First, I've gone through my Mac setup, then my iOS devices and in previous episode, I covered the essential online services that entrepreneurs need to run a consulting business.
Now, initially, I planned this series to span three episodes but I realised that I could not fit the automation part in last episode.

Today's episode is structured in 2 main parts:

This week, you'll discover my Mac setup, the devices I use as well as the apps I rely the most upon for my day to day work.
Next week, I'll talk about how I use my Apple mobile devices, including my Apple Watch, and how they integrate in my workflows.
Finally, in two weeks time, I'll do a deep dive into the various online services that allow me to bridge the gap between my Macs and iOS devices and those that make my life easier through web automation.
And if you wonder why there are suddenly three solo shows, well ... I've been on holiday for the past two weeks and I failed to line up enough guests to cover the second part of August :-)
So here you have it, and if you'd like to be a guest on the show or know an entrepreneur who would be a great guest on the show, visit macpreneur.com/contact

Hello hello and thank you for listening to Macpreneur.
I'm your host, Damien Schreurs, and today is episode 0, during which I'll introduce myself, explain what this podcast is about and what you can expect in terms of frequency.
Short introduction:
A 13-inch MacBook Air which I use when I visit my clients or travel
A 256 GB iPhone 8 Plus and a 64GB iPad Mini 4 with a logitech keyboard
On a more personal note, I'm 44, married and we have 2 children in primary school.
I love listening to podcasts, mostly about technology, business, entrepreneurship and personal development
Since I couldn't find a podcast that was mainly about running a business using Apple gear, I've decided to create Macpreneur.
Unlike today's episode, Macpreneur is an interview show where I'll bring entrepreneurs from all around the world, who love Apple products too.
They'll share with you how they run their business and what specifically made them choose Apple products.
This show is for non tech-savvy entrepreneurs who want simple, easy to understand strategies to run their business more efficiently
In fact, there will be a segment in the show where I'll ask my guests what they're currently struggling with and I'll provide them with some guidance.
Later on I'll follow up with them and see what worked and what didn't work.
Each show will be between 30 and 45 minutes long and jam packed with insights on how to make the most of your Apple devices.
Macpreneur will start with 3 episodes and the following ones will be released on a weekly basis.
If you'd like to be interviewed or if you have any feedback, use the link in the show notes or visit macpreneur.com/contact
