In this sermon, Pastor Adrian Crawford continues in the sermon series, Backstory, a look at some familiar “faces” from the Hall of Faith in Hebrews 11.
We read what they’re known for, why their faith left an impact, and how they were marked by their deep level of trust in God but, they didn’t just arrive there one day... there was a journey.
As we peel back the “glamor” of some of these stories, we’ll look at what the wrestling of faith and doubt looks like as we learn to trust God more deeply, that we would also be marked by faithfulness.

Today’s sermon, “Praying in a Minor Key” is brought to us by one of our friends, Pastor Brent Garrard from InFocus Church in Augusta, GA. Pastor Brent reminds us that pain is an inevitable and unavoidable part of life. Experiencing seasons of pain is out of our control, but what we can control is how we process and address that pain. The key to filling the gap between the pain of live and the presence and promise of God is learning to biblically lament. In our lament is where God reminds us of the cross and the promise we find in Revelation 21:4. "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."

Today’s sermon, “Anchor In” is brought to us by our Lead Pastor, Adrian Crawford. When you find yourself in a difficult season, it’s hard to trust that God is doing a good work in you. Without a healthy foundation below us, we’re more likely to lose hope. We have to choose to anchor into God’s word, knowing that it will cultivate maturation within us, steady the pace we’re running at, and create an unwavering confidence in His goodness.

Today’s sermon, “I Would Like to Speak to a Representative” is brought to us by our Lead Pastor, Adrian Crawford. In our world today, we are so quick to look towards world representatives, government, policing, etc. that we fail to keep our eyes fixed on the only true therapist that can actually help us change the world. Today’s sermon, “Empty Vessels” is brought to us by our Lead Pastor, Adrian Crawford. Charles Spurgeon quotes, “A full Christ is for empty sinners, and for empty sinners only, it is not our emptiness but our fullness which can hinder the outgoing of free grace.” WE are the culprit of a sinful life, one that’s not under God’s Lordship, and founded upon the STUFF that He can do for you. We must have the courage to get empty, shut the door, and pour it out.— take away all distractions that hinder you from experiencing God’s glory. Our emptiness will lead to a dependency on God.

Today’s sermon, “What's Next?” is brought to us by our Lead Pastor, Adrian Crawford. In Matthew 11, Jesus says “come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
In this passage, Jesus is reminding us that we are to run to Him, especially when we feel as though the world is caving in around us. He is the Hope that anchors our souls, and His promise to us is that He will give us rest, as we allow Him to teach us. No matter what season you're in, take Jesus' yoke upon you and move towards Him today.

Today’s sermon, “Misinterpreting Jesus” is brought to us by our Lead Pastor, Adrian Crawford. On this Palm Sunday, we reflect on the scriptures in John 12, when Jesus makes his entrance into Jerusalem. Jesus came in a way that no one expected because the people of Jerusalem expected their King to come with power and a title, but instead, he rode in on a donkey. We have to remind ourself that the power we crave, will be the power we save. We must allow God to redefine what power, position, and purpose means to us if we want to truly see a world that changes for the Kingdom.

Today’s sermon, “Haunted” is brought to us by our Associate Pastor, Derrick Hayes. In today's culture, we tend to live our lives according to the opinions of others out of a fear of man. But, fear of man creates an enemy of God. When we're living according to God's will, we should live out of a fear of God, which creates an enemy of man knowing that God will fulfill His call on our lives, despite the opinions of those around us.

Today’s sermon, “Cancel Me” is brought to us by our lead Pastor, Adrian Crawford. In the Bible, we see Paul wanting people to cancel Him. He desired to live SO separate from the culture, that His lifestyle was only recognizable to a life led by Jesus. His worship, ethics, and sacrifice were focused on the Kingdom, not the thoughts and opinions of others.
We can disagree with the ethics of others, while still loving them. We can stand up for injustice, without canceling a whole group of people. Do you live by the ethics of the Kingdom, or the ethics of your opinions?

Today's message is brought by our Pastor, Adrian Crawford. In our culture today, we find ourselves polarized towards to extremes. On one hand, we're so quick to point out the sin in others, often leading to hypocrisy. On the other hand, sometimes we offer grace too quickly, without explaining how conviction and repentance leads us closer to the Father. As Innovative Reconcilers, we are called to model conviction, conversion, and compensation; speaking Truth in love to those that need to be met by the Savior.

Today's message is brought by our Pastor, Adrian Crawford. The word today is a convicting look at how many of us can say we're "fans" of Jesus, without knowing what it truly looks like to be a friend of his. Jesus doesn't owe us anything, but He deserves our love and devotions. In order to be a friend to Jesus, we must have a consistent and transparent relationship with him. In turn, our relationships with one another, out of an overflow of who Jesus is to us should model empathy and diversity.

Today's message is brought by our associate Pastor, Derrick Hayes at our Midtown campus. In our culture, we are consumed with the thirst for power. We have tricked ourselves into choosing the false choice, one based upon this world's view of power rather than the Kingdom's view. Today's message is brought by our lead Pastor, Adrian Crawford. We are starting a new series, Fault Lines. We live in a tension where we must choose what we’re building our lives on. Too often in our culture, we’re building on cracked foundations. Making the choice to build on the foundation of God’s will rather than our own is incredibly painful, but anything great takes a greater amount of sacrifice. Today's message is brought by our lead Pastor, Adrian Crawford. In Jeremiah 32, we see Jeremiah's faith tested. When God gives him the call to buy a field, Jeremiah finds himself in a place where he must choose to either have predictable or profound faith. We believe God is asking us to have profound faith in this season of life. A faith so profound that it leads to decisive decision making, directional obedience, and a determined hope. Will you answer the call?

We build what we believe. We are people of deep trust, but our faith and trust may not always be in God. The person you are becoming is dependent upon the condition of your heart. In order to pick up our shield of faith and step into the battle before us, we must be willing to listen, lay solid foundations, and live out a deeply holy life.

"If you stay ready you ain't gotta get ready" - Billy Humphrey
If you know anything about Pastor Adrian, you know that shoes are the completion of any Sunday morning fit. God calls us to prepare for the spiritual battle we're facing, with the shoes given by the Gospel of peace. Peace is the Shalom of God; and Jesus has the power to bring, make, and send peace through all seasons of life.

Righteousness is something we’re called to put on, but it has to be custom made. Roman soldiers wore a breastplate specifically for the protection of their organs, and God calls us to put that same breastplate on as the righteousness that guards our lives.
To be righteous is to have right standing with God. The way you live and act is honorable to God. It’s more than moral chastity. How does righteousness of God fit and function in your own life? We must have the courage to upgrade our righteousness and press forward.

The lies of the enemy are in plain sight. We’re living in the age of “Deep Fake”, “Fake News”, and tearing down all aspects of authority that exist. In Ephesians 6:13-14, Paul speaks about the belt of Truth and how it acts as preparation for the battle in front of us.
The enemy uses lies about our immediate circumstance, influence, and identity to take our eyes off of what the Lord is doing in our lives. In order to cultivate A Wonderful World, and break the bondage lies hold in our lives, we must be filled with the Spirit and motivated by the Truth of God’s word.

We are waging war for the generations to come. Will you wage war according to flesh and blood, or will you choose to wage war by the power of God’s Holy Spirit?
In today's sermon, we're continuing in our series, A Wonderful World. In order to be "War Ready" against the powers of darkness, we must have an awareness that the spiritual realm exists. Once we’re able to accept that truth, God will be merciful to give us actionable steps to combat and war against the enemy and his schemes. We serve a SUPERNATURAL God. War like you haven’t forgotten that the battle is already won. We hope you enjoy today's sermon.

Pastor Adrian concludes our study on the book of Isaiah. Using Luke 4 where Jesus reads from the scroll of Isaiah Pastor Adrian poses an important question to the people of God, especially the Church in America, Is Jesus welcomed here? We see that even in his hometown Jesus was not welcomed because his intention has always been to build a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural church that is built of every nation and people group. So we will have to decide if we will be like Jesus' hometown and not welcome Him because of His desire for diversity, or will we go against the grain of our current cultural climate and partner with Jesus to build His diverse Church.

Life is a constant state of tension between dreams and nightmares. What is important is we never lose faith and understand we serve an unshakable kingdom. We need to lament during our nightmares so we can process and know where we stand, because God already knows. We need to understand our faith is not in a man, but our faith and salvation is through Jesus Christ alone.

The nation of Israel began with a promise from God to Abram. Though they wandered and broke the covenant, God's promise remained. Even in judgement, God did not quit on his people. In their most dire of circumstances, Israel had the hope of God's word. This same hope is extended to us through Jesus, who never quits on us.
What do all gravestones have in common? A beginning and end date; the date you were born and the date you left this earth. What's significant and yet overlooked many times is the dash between these two dates. This dash represents joy, heartache, peace, trials, triumphs, victories, love, loss, and more. In today's sermon Pastor Adrian brings to our attention a few questions like "Is Jesus everything in your life?", "Do you proclaim the goodness of Jesus?", "What kingdom are you building for God?". And reminds us to long for something greater than just this moment by leaving a legacy of faith.

Are you comfortable in life? Perhaps a little too comfortable? The push and pull of everyday living, along with cultural influences and conveniences often lull us into a state of complacency. We become comfortable in our ways and ignore our call to live outside of ourself to impact the lives of others and to be a force in delivering them to the Kingdom of God.
When we encounter Jesus, our lives become different. No matter where we are on our walks with Christ, our lives are different when He enters our lives. Throughout this series we will explore how when we experience and follow Jesus, life is different. This week we explore how our perspective dictates or response not only in life, but of Jesus as well.

Our society is one of extremes, so each side thinks that their way is the only way that change can be produced. However, the only place that has the answer to all these questions is the church. As the church it is a time now that we can no longer lean into the extremes of either red or blue, but come into the middle to find a new way that combines the two creating the color purple.

There are times where we have just found ourselves at the end of a fight we have won and before we can even enjoy the celebration we find ourselves in another fight. Guest speaker Pastor Aaron Austin comes to Engage to share on how to win the fight after the fight. Pastor Aaron highlights in the life of Elijah the prophet how we can win the fight just as he did.
On the eve of the day we, as a nation, celebrate freedom and independence Billy Humphrey reminds us of the freedom offered by Jesus. In this life we will be a slave to one of two things, sin or righteousness. Billy shows us how we can be saved from our bondage to sin and experience true freedom.
Humans love to find a groove and enter into a place where the rhythm of life is constant and comfortable. While this may have some benefit, it also has a detrimental possibility that surfaces as complacency. Whether it is entrepreneurs looking to change the status quo or revolutionaries looking to uproot an establishment, the only way to promote change is to disrupt it. Pastor Adrian shows us through the words of the Prophet Isaiah how God wants to enter into our lives and disrupt our religiousness and complacency, so that we can live a life fully devoted to Him that is impactful on our world.

Sterling Brown visits this week and teaches us principles we can extract from the story where Jesus healed the paralytic in Mark 2. We see that no matter what situation we may find ourselves in there is a hope for change, we find God's purpose with people and that there's healing in forgiveness.
Pastor Chip Buhler is with us this Sunday to deliver a great message on God's purpose for each us. We are created unique, with traits and abilities intended to fulfill a unique mission. Common to us all is that God does not call us to easy places to do easy things. Our purpose, when called, is to answer as Isaiah did, "Here am I. Send me."
The meaning of marriage and what it means to be married is currently constantly being debated. Our society's ethics regarding marriage have gone through major shifts over the last generation. Today Pastor Adrian concludes our series of Netflix and Chill discussing the secret of marriage, namely how that marriage should reflect the relationship between Christ and His church.

Sex and sexuality often feels like a taboo subject to speak about at church. But the reality is that sex has its origin in God, and has been a gift since it was given to our first parents in the garden. As we continue in our series, Pastor Adam Mabry from Aletheia Boston comes to share with us the story of sex found in the Bible.
No one likes to be vulnerable. More times than not, vulnerability is viewed as a weakness. Because of this lack of vulnerability we are unable to have truly intimate and meaningful relationships of any kind. Pastor Adrian shows us how intimacy is recovered in the land of vulnerability.
Pastor Adrian begins our new series about love, sex, dating and relationships. In our society today we have come to reduce our standard of love down to an emotional feeling that we experience. Pastor Adrian takes us back to the biblical definition of love. The characteristic most associated with love in the Bible is sacrifice, which comes in direct conflict with our desire to have this emotional high.
The Christian faith hinges on the fact that Jesus rose from the dead on that first Easter Sunday, forever changing the world. Because of Jesus' resurrection we can now have hope that He can bring us new life as well. Pastor Adrian shows us what a hope restored and aimed in the proper direction can lead to through the story of the woman at the well.
Our expectations drive what we think other people owe us. The trouble comes when the expectations we create are false. This week Pastor Adrian uses the life of Peter to show us how we need to allow the reality of Jesus to crush our false expectations.
This week we dive into what it takes to become an owner and how to create an owner. Pastor Derek Kasdorf dives into the parable of the sower. We see that the combination of hard work and patience help to produce good fruit that God wants to bring into our lives.
Contentment is hard to walk in because many times we live for ourselves. By living for ourself we create an unending desire to receive more. Pastor Adrian unpacks the key to contentment, we must live to serve others just as Paul outlines in his book to the Thessalonians.
As we conclude our series 31 Kings about entering the promised land that God has designated for us Pastor Adrian highlights the last address that Joshua gave the people of Israel. After conquering all the kings that opposed them and entering into the rest that God promised, Joshua laid out a challenge to all the people, choose this day who you will serve. We hope to echo Joshua's response to this, as for me and my house, we will serve God.
Authority can only be exercised within the jurisdiction that the authority is established. Earthly authority is always limited to a certain domain since there are finite jurisdictions. As evidenced in Joshua 10, God is not limited to a certain area or subject matter in his authority, even exercising His authority over the natural laws of the earth in order to make the Sun stand still for a whole day. Since God is creator and established the world he has the authority to have His creation bend to His will.
Anything that has great worth had to endure a process before being deemed valuable. As believers the process that we must follow is consistent obedience to God in order to walk in the fullness of life that He offers. Sometimes the things that we are called to obey, like the instructions the Israelites received in order to defeat Jericho, doesn't make sense. But through consistently obeying God, He will perform a miracle that will break down the walls we built up through our disobedience.
Breakthrough doesn't often come without difficulty. It's true today as it was for the Israelites as they awaited crossing the Jordan to reach the Promised Land. To prepare them for destiny, God asked his people to consecrate themselves and keep their eyes fixed on him so they would be set apart. He asks the same of us as we prepare for our own destiny.
Faith is essential to for Christian survival. To be impactful, faith must be heard, seen and experienced. We see this exemplified in Joshua 2 by Rahab, a Canaanite prostitute. Though she was not an Israelite and not of the highest social standing, she acts on faith and aids Israelite spies, thereby becoming an essential piece in the conquering of Jericho and Christian lineage.
As the Israelites entered their Promised Land they would have to defeat 31 Kings in order to be able to inhabit the land given to them by God. Pastor Adrian continues our series that will outline attributes that are needed to walk into our promised land. This week we see that in order to conquer the kings in the land we will need to work as a part of a team/family.

Pastor Adrian begins our new series that will outline attributes that are needed to walk into our promised land. This week we see that in order to conquer the kings in the land we will need to have vision.
As we begin the new year, Pastor Adrian helps us to realize that God is greater than our hearts. In the beginning of the year we often find ourselves creating several resolutions, which we inevitably fail on majority of those goals. This is when our heart begins to condemn us, telling us how we will always mess up and never measure up. As outlined in 1 John, we know that we can live in confidence in our relationship with God because of the finished work of Jesus on the cross and know that God is greater than the condemnation our hearts try to communicate.
As we conclude our series Expectations, Pastor Derek teaches on how God expects us to act when we sin. We must realize that we need God's help, recognize the origin of our sin and realize the joy of our salvation.
As we continue our series about Expectation, Pastor Adrian leads us to the first chapter of Luke to see two different examples of how people's expectations differed when encountered by the word of God. We learn that expectations are birthed and fortified by the word of God and witnessing the fulfillment of God's word.
As we enter the Christmas season, we are all filled with expectations for the holidays. Pastor Adrian encourages us to foster proper and great expectations. In the first century when Jesus came to this Earth there were many people who encountered him but missed the reality of who he was because their expectations were skewed by their erroneous expectations. Let us be people who always have a hope and expectation as we maintain a right view of God.
As we conclude our series on building the masterpiece of family Pastor Adrian shares on the most important aspect of building a family, namely, maintaining the first love we have when we initially encounter God.The driving force behind any believer is maintaining the love that compels us to seek wholeheartedly after God.
In a world that practices little to no healthy communication, it is important to be intentional about healthy communication. As we continue in our series Art of Family, Billy speaks about how communication impacts our lives.
One of the hardest characteristics to attain that fuels a great family is everyone accepting their roles. God created a divine outline of how authority structure should work and the roles that each member of the family should play. As with any great team, when people are walking in their roles to the fullest it benefits everyone involved. Pastor Adrian outlines how these roles were established by God and how we can play our part.
Pastor Chip Buhler continues our series focusing on the making of a masterpiece of a family. The principles that fuel a masterful family also apply to spiritual family, businesses and organizations of all kinds. Pastor Chip shares on the importance of sacrificing for your family.

The principles that fuel a masterful family also apply to spiritual family, businesses and organizations of all kinds. Pastor Adrian begins with the principle of being all in and committing to do what it takes to accomplish the mission of the family.
As we prepare for the Big Give this week, Pastor Adrian speaks about how we give to the things that we love. And that many times, the reason we have issues giving is because we have a love issue. We never have an issue giving to the things we love, so as we reset our affections and aim them toward God we will have no issue being generous with all the things that God has given to us to steward.
Pastor Adrian speaks about the great illusion that money can bring. Many times we look to money for security. However, we see that Jesus spoke to the truth that at times our perspective and reality of our situation do not line up and that we must be rich toward God and depend on him for our security.
This week Pastor Adrian teaches on having a vision for your money. When we allow ourselves to not have a vision to guide us, then we will be lost as the proverb says. Sometimes, the vision we have for our money is to simply purchase supply our own selfish desires. As we look to Jesus and decide to live a generous life, giving to the advancement of His kingdom, we will experience His promise to provide our every need.
Guest speaker, Ben Kaempfer, joins us today at Engage as we dive into the book of Matthew and discuss external versus internal spirituality and the unfortunate hypocrisy between the two that many of us suffer from.
Everyone wants the glory of a revolutionary, but few want to live like one. Pastor Adrian continues our series on revolutioinaries, and what it will take to live like a revoltuionary in order to be make the impact that God is calling us to make. This week Pastor Adrian focuses on the greatest revolutionary of all time, Jesus. We see that the driving force behind many of Jesus acts was His compassion for people, and that should also be a signifying mark on His followers.
Everyone wants the glory of a revolutionary, but few want to live like one. Pastor Adrian continues our series on revolutioinaries, and what it will take to live like a revoltuionary in order to be make the impact that God is calling us to make. This week we see that must make ourselves undone before Jesus so that we can be consecrated in order to make impact.
Everyone wants the glory of a revolutionary, but few want to live like one. Pastor Adrian continues our series on revolutioinaries, and what it will take to live like a revoltuionary in order to be make the impact that God is calling us to make. This week we see that it takes a level of crazy relentlessness in order to press into God enough to make the impact that he desires our lives to make.

Pastor Adrian continues our series on revolutioinaries, and what it will take to live like a revoltuionary in order to be make the impact that God is calling us to make. Everyone wants the glory of a revolutionary, but few want to live like one. Pastor Adrian begins our series on revolutioinaries, and what it will take to live like a revoltuionary in order to be make the impact that God is calling us to make. During our first week we take a look at Beniah and how he chased down a lion into a pit, and how it was one of the indicators how he would go on to live an impactful life.
As a new school year begins, Pastor Adrian speaks about crossing over into a new season. Just as the Israelites crossed the Red Sea into a new season, there is always the temptation to want to go back to the previous season. But we must listen to the words that Moses told the Israelites just as they were about to enter into their new season; we must not fear, stand firm and look for the Lord's salvation.
As we conclude our summer sermon series in the book of Ephesians Pastor Adrian speaks to us about Christ's victory over satan, sin and death. He explains that while we are currently in a battle, Christ's victory is ours as well once we believe in His finished work on the cross. We are encouraged to put on the armor of God in order to be able to stand against the enemy's attacks.
As we continue in our series on identity, Pastor Adrian shares on how are identity is tied to our willingness to submit. Many times the word submit is a word that people do not like, we are always looking for ways to push back against authority. However, we see in Ephesians 5 that all are relationships are impacted by our willingness to submit and it all begins with the reason to submit, which is a reverence for Christ.
As we continue in our summer midweek service centered on maturity, Pastor Adrian teaches on never giving up. As mature believers, we must not allow ourselves to quit on situations and relationships. Our greatest example was obviously Jesus as he encountered the toughest situation in history, in the garden just before his crucifixion. We learn that in the toughest situations we must lean in to God.
In our next installment of our series on identity, Pastor Adrian speaks on being filled by the Holy Spirit. Since the fall in the garden, humanity has yearned to fill the hole that was created by the fracture in relationship that we have with God. With all the things that are vying to attempt to fill the void, Pastor Adrian shows us how to ensure that we are once again filling with the only thing that can satisfy the void, the Holy Spirit.
Continuing with our series of identity, Pastor Adrian speaks on the the new life that God has given us through Jesus. Sometimes, we tend to carry burdens and scars from our past, but we are to take off or put off our old life and put on a new and better life through Him.
As we continue in our midweek services focusing on maturity, our Executive Director Billy Humphrey shares on priorities. Billy breaks down misconceptions about priorities, and Biblical principles that will help us set our lives in the order that God wants.
As we continue in our sermon series on identity, Pastor Adrian speaks on the equipping of believers. God granted gifts so that we could use them to build his church. As we mature, we learn to use these gifts that God has given us to help build His church.
As we continue in our midweek series lookin to help believers mature in their faith, we have a guest pastor, Ben Kampfer from Downtown Community Church, speaking about communication as it relates to sharing the gospel. Pastor Ben teaches on the biggest hinderance of people sharing their faith is because they are insecure. A great way to combat the insecurity is being sure of why you believe what you believe.
As we continue in our series about Identity, Pastor Derek Kasdorf teaches us on prayer and how it allows us to tap into our identity as children of God. As a father, God wants to hear his children and grow in relationship with us. As children of God, we should know that God loves us and wants to hear us.
As we continue our focus on Maturity in our midweek series, Derek Kasdorf, our College Campus Pastor, teaches us about the significance of sharing your faith.
As we continue in our series about identity, Pastor Adrian teaches that as a result of being in Christ, we are now in family. Jesus' life and sacrifice leads to the breaking of the walls of hostility that hinder and stop us from building meaningful relationships. We learn that what brings us into family, keeps us in family. And the only thing that allows us to build those relationships is the cross of Christ.
As we continue in our series where we find that our identity is in Christ, Pastor Adrian teaches us that as a result of the gospel and Jesus' life that now we are saved. This term is one that is at times casually thrown out in Christian circles without the realization of the impact of being saved. Pastor Adrian explains that the key thing we are saved from is from ourselves, and that God has saved our desires, direction and destination.
As we continue in our summer series highlighting what it means to be a mature Christian, Pastor Adrian speaks to us about personal responsibility. He teaches us that true personal responsibility viewed through the lens of the gospel looks very different than personal responsibility trumpeted in our culture. Pastor Adrian also weaves in how the church and mature believers must take up the responsibility to usher in a new time period of race relations that does not overlook issues or abdicates the role that God has called us to play.
As we continue in our series of identity, Pastor Adrian teaches on how God the Father appreciates believers. Pastor Adrian also gives special attention to fathers on this Father's Day in order to let it be known that the role of the father is something that is worthy of appreciation. We learn that appreciation produces security, serving and unity.
As we continue in our midweek services, focusing on maturing as believers, Dave Plettl teaches on stewardship. He focuses on teaching that we all have gifts, that we should use those gifts to serve others, that we are stewards and not owners of the gifts and that ulitmately the gifts are used to glorify God.
One of the byproducts of Jesus' work on this earth, is that those who believe in Him have been given the opportunity to take part of the blessed life. In our American society, the idea of a blessed life has become skewed from the original intent that the Lord wanted us to experience. Pastor Adrian speaks to us about the spiritual blessings available to believers, and how the spiritual blessings far outweigh any financial or physical blessing that we could receive.
According to the Bible, a human's identity can be formed into just one of two different camps; you can either be viewed as being part of Adam's lineage or you can be viewed as being part of Jesus' lineage. Pastor Adrian begins our series that will focus centering our identity in Christ so that we can experience the fullness of life that God desires for us.
As we begin our summer midweek service that is themed on maturity, Pastor Adrian speaks about what the character that a Christian should walk in maturity. He speaks on making sure that believers will have more wins than losses in their lives.
As Christendom in the United States has waned and just about disappeared, the way that Christians should interact with our culture has drastically changed. Pastor Adrian encourages us to be aware of aware of the climate of our culture, so that we as believers can effectively engage our culture to accomplish the Great Commission laid out by Jesus for His church.
In the fourth week of our series of Mixtapes, Pastor Adrian shares with us about how being impacted by the gospel leads us to have changed lives. Every person can look at our world today and admit that the world needs changing, but in order to produce the change we would like to see, we will need to have experienced this change. Whenever an experience impacts our lives, especially for the better, we cannot help but share that experience with others. As Jesus impacts our lives, we can then share Jesus with the world to be able to spark change.
In our third week of our Mixtape Series Roshad Thomas comes in as a guest speaker and teaches us on how Jesus calls us to repentance. Roshad shows us that Jesus is not looking for perfect people that have reached a certain level of holiness before they can come into relationship with God. In fact, we all suck and will never be able to be good enough in our strength, but Jesus already has everything prepared for us to be able to come back into relationship as God originally intended.
As we celebrate our mothers on this Mother's Day, Pastor Adrian speaks to us to aspire to a trait that mothers carry in spades, relentless faith. It is almost inherent for a mother to have such strong faith and belief in their children and for their children. Pastor Adrian uses the example of the Shunamite women from 2 Kings 4 so that we can have a resting/passive faith that comes from contentment in Jesus. Also, in conjuction with the resting faith that comes from contentment, we should also have an active faith that allows us to believe God for things that are greater than we can accomplish in and of ourselves.
Throughout the new mixtape series, Engage Church will approach several different unrelated topics. This week, Pastor Adrian teaches us how to live a life that will leave a legacy for centuries. Pastor Adrian outlines that there are five points that will help us build these century lasting legacies. We should follow the cloud of God, start with the Word of God, think with the end in mind, develop a squad, and advance God's kingdom.
The Holy Spirit is the most misunderstood person in the Trinity. A lot of times people are not really sure of what His role is and/or misrepresent Him. This can be seen as some people believing that the Holy Spirit empowering believers ended with the canonization of scripture, while others have twisted theology and practices. This week Pastor Adrian outlines how to recognize people and churches that are living Holy Spirit led lives.
This week Pastor Adrian shows us through the scripture that from Jesus baptism and even with the empowering of Jesus' disciples at Pentecost that the Holy Spirit descends upon the people of God to empower them to go on mission.
The Holy Spirit is the most misunderstood person of the Trinity. Many people think that the Holy Spirit is weird in a negative way. But one of the main roles that the Holy Spirit is to empower believers in Jesus to be weird in a way that is counter-cultural. Not weird for the sake of weird, but that believers would be clearly different than those around them because of the grace of God; Jesus' life, death and resurrection; and the Holy Spirit granting the believer strength to follow in Jesus' footsteps.
Easter is the biggest celebration for the Christian faith since it marks the distinguishing factor between itself and all other religions, Jesus Christ resurrection. The world has been broken through sin and rebellion and the only thing that could restore the relationship between God and humanity. Pastor Adrian explains how Jesus takes things that were broken and make it into something beautiful.
Palm Sunday marks the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem the week before he was crucified and ressurected in order to allow humanity to once again be in relationship with God. After his entry into Jerusalem, Jesus had an interesting interaction with a fig tree. Pastor Adrian explains the significance of Jesus interaction with the fig tree and how it applies to our lives so that we can bear fruit.
We are present for the things we value. This week Pastor Adrian outlines for us that God values people above everything else. As followers of Jesus, we should also pattern our lives to reflect Jesus' value system and place people at the top of our list.
Many times, people in the church desire to be disciples, but do not put the same value in leading others to be disciples. Pastor Derek Kasdorf walks us through why as believers it is important to follow Jesus, fellowship with believers, and fish for men
A lego comes in all different types of shapes, sizes and colors but exists do one thing, to connect. However, even though the legos connected from their initial creation, it was hard to build any type of structures until the foundation piece was introduced years later. For humanity there is only one foundation that can be built upon that is strong enough to withstand any trial or situation, and that foundation is Jesus.
A lego comes in all different types of shapes, sizes and colors but exists do one thing, to connect. Similarly, the church may operate in many different ways, but its main purpose is to create disciples. Before anyone can even become a disciple they must encounter Jesus, and be brought from death to life. Just as Jesus called Lazarus up from the dead, Jesus places us in community in order to have someone help us take the grave clothes off.
Submitting to authority is a hard task for most people to do, especially when we don't agree with the person in charge. God has designed authority stuctures to be present in every aspect of our lives. Authority is divinely established, from parental authority in the house; to management structures in our companies; all the way to our leaders in government. Our spiritual growth will be hindered if we do not see authority as a divine institution designed by God.
Scandal (Week 3): Love Serves
Guest pastor Ben Kaempfer of Downtown Community Church (DCC) joins us to deliver a powerful message on relationship with significant others. The depth of our love for God is directly reflected by the quality of our love for others. There is no better measure of love than service, in all circumstances. Love serves, regardless. How well are you loving?
Scandal (Week 2) - Trust Issues
Most of us are guilty of trusting too much in our own goodness. We rely on our imagined ability to earn our way into heaven. By trusting too little in His goodness, we miss what God truly has for us; A life of freedom from the bonds of our flesh.
Scandal (Week 1) - The Dance
Relationships construct our world. In creation, God established the perfect relationship with man only for it to be fragmented out of our desire to get from God instead of give to him. Do your relationships reflect an attitude of getting, or, as God intended, giving?
New Rules 2K15 - Week 3 (Engaging Culture)
Sacred or secular? Our motivation determines which applies. The church today, in many ways, limits it's influence to the walls housing its congregation. To truly live as disciples, we must carry the gospel in all aspects of life; work, play and all things between.
New Rules 2K15 - Week 2 (Engaging People)
What should mark us as disciples of Christ? Is our good deeds? Is it the wealth we accumulate? John 13 tells us the way we love each another will reveal that we are followers of Christ; that we love others as He loved us.
New Rules 2K15 - Week 1 (Engaging God)
Church culture does not make us Christians. God wants to engage us in a way that alters the path of our lives. Isaiah Chapter 6 is perhaps the best example in scripture of this. In a single moment there is a disturbance in Isaiah's soul, delivering him from his complacent state, recognizing his need for redemption. When God inquires who He should dispatch, Isaiah declares, "Here am I. Send me."
Eyes Wide Shut // 01-04-2015
At the beginning of a new year, we are inclined to focus on the past and future, ignoring the present. We point to past spiritual failure and future spiritual growth without taking inventory of our current state. Our prayer at Engage for 2015, is that you would take hold of where you are with God, and seek earnestly to know Him more.
Day of Atonement (12/21/14)
Since the Fall, God has had a plan of redemption for His people. The strategy is described throughout scripture. From the minute details of Levitcus, to the sweeping maxims of the epistles, Jesus is evident. Find out how Christ is relevant then, now, and always.
Mutual Repsonsibility (12/14/14)
New location. Same mission. We want to engage God, People and Culture with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Visit us at 1660 N. Monroe St. in Tallahassee, FL.
Are we our brother's keeper? How we care for our neighbor says a lot about the state of Christianity in culuture. The essence of the Bible is community. The heart of Christ compels us to die to self and serve others. With this in mind, we examine how the the church measures up.
RESET (Christmas Service)
As the Christmas season builds to full speed, and distractions begin to mount, we take this Sunday at Engage to remove the clutter and focus on the reason for celebration. We aim, for a moment, to Reset our hearts and minds to focus on the greatest gift of all.
Numbers Never Lie (Week 4) - Check the Scoreboard
We judge effort in sporting events by what the scoreboard reads when time has expired. Similarly, what's sown in life is reflected by what is reaped. Just as a tree is judged by the fruit it produces, so too can our lives be judged. What are we sowing today, that will be reaped tomorrow?
November 23, 2014
In the wake of a tragic shooting on the campus of Florida State University in our hometown of Tallahassee, Florida, we are left with powerful emotions and complicated questions. This Sunday at Engage we mourn, and discuss how to move forward in the midst of tragedy.
Numbers Never Lie (Week 3) - Spare Change
The Bible pulls no punches when it comes to giving. In Malachi 3:8, it is plainly stated that God views withholding our tithe as robbing from Him. Our investment in God's kingdom reveals our commitment, or lack thereof.
Numbers Never Lie (Week 2) - Empire Business
In this life we are not owners. We are stewards of what God has entrusted to us. God provides the spiritual financing and expects a return on His investment. Fortunately, He has also provided us with the portfolio to realize our potential.
Numbers Never Lie (Week 1) - Money Never Sleeps
Friedrich Nietzsche once predicted that money would replace God in western culture. Observing the greed and envy inspired by the abundance or lack thereof, one could conclude he was correct. Only with Jesus as our center can we overcome the false idol of money and live according to God's will and achieve true prosperity.
Somewhere in America (Week 4) - Hide and Seek
We all have our go-to hiding spot; the familiar place we run when we're overwhelmed by life. In the conclusion of 'Somewhere in America' we turn to 1 Kings to find the proper response to worries of the world.
Somewhere in America (Week 3) - Are We There Yet?
We search and toil all of our lives for something very elusive; contentment. "Are we there yet?" becomes a rhetorical question driving us to the ends of the earth. But do we actually know what "there" is?
Somewhere in America (Week 2) - Foundation of Truth
Pastor Tim Johnson joins us to deliver the second installment in our series, Somewhere in America, titled 'Foundation of Truth'. Genesis tells of the original lie, which established the nature of humanity as we know it. Our task, is to allow God to remove this foundation of lies in order to construct one of truth.
Somewhere in America (Week 1) - Crossing Jordan
What is my purpose? A question we all ask ourself throughout life. While the answer is unique to the individual, the formula is the same for us all. We need to trust in the promise that God has a purpose for each of us, and endure in the process of realizing the prosperity that awaits.
Drunk In Love (Week 4) - False Fantasies
Pastor Adrian and his wife Wendy take the stage together in our final installment of 'Drunk In Love' to share their personal insight and experience on the covenant of marriage. They describe how two imperfect people can come together to serve a perfect God when we look to Christ to be our saviour.
Drunk In Love (Week 3) - Staying Power
We desire love that is enduring; love that can weather the storms of life. We search for a biblical, covenant love. Instead we approach love as consumers, quickly casting it aside when it no longer meets our needs, only to seek it elsewhere.
Drunk In Love (Week 2) - Dirty Water
Sex, created by God for good, has been marred by sin as man has often and repeatedly crossed boundaries established to ensure its goodness. But where contamination runs rampant, purification is possible through the sanctification of Christ.
Drunk in Love (Week 1): The Exchange
Our latest sermon series explores the pervasive influence of sex and sexuality in our culture. We turn to Romans 1:18-32 to find Paul's narrative of man trading the glory of God for debauchery. The implications of which go far beyond the flesh.
In the conclusion to our 'Apprentice' sermon series, we turn again to 2 Timothy, where Paul, nearing the end of his life, gives his disciple a powerful exhortation and instructs him on how to finish well.
In the wake of recent events in Ferguson, Missouri, we take this Sunday to reflect on the role Christians should assume, and the perspective from which we should approach such a tragedy. Where the enemy seeks to divide, we must pursue reconciliation and maintain an attitude of compassion and healing through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Continuing our epic 'Apprentice' series at Engage, we open 2 Timothy this Sunday to unpack Paul's instructions for effective ministry.
There are two ways we live as a Christian. We are either in Adam (sin) or in Christ (salvation). In 1 Timothy 6:11-13, Paul describes how we can live in Christ. We must run from sin and pursue righteousness, holiness, and godliness; fight the good fight of faith; and take hold of eternal life.
We continue in our series 'Apprentice' in 1 Timothy 5, where Paul describes how we are to honor God by honoring those we are in relationship with. From our spouse, to our children, to our elders and even to those younger than ourself, we are to treat others as extraordinary, as God has treated us.
Pastor Dave Hess of Every Nation Campus Ministries joins us this Sunday to deliver a message on the importance of humility and the role God intends it to play in our hearts and our faith.
This Sunday at Engage we welcome Pastor Gabe Bouch who brings a message on the importance of scripture in our lives. In order to understand God's word, we read it, reflect on it, see ourselves in it and remember that it brings good news.
Just as elite athletes train tirelessly in their craft, we must also work with great discipline and purpose in our faith. It is of the highest importance that we prepare, with the goal to win spiritual battles and accomplish the mission set before us.
Social norms of the day have diluted the distinct roles men and women were created to fulfill. It is vital that we embrace the unique nature of each gender and encourage men and women alike to give to their all to the glory of God. In the fourth installment of our Apprentice series, we disect 1 Timothy 3 and the precise characteristics outlined regarding the leadership of men in the church.
On Father's Day, guest speaker Pastor Clayton Bell addresses the uniqueness of man and woman as God has created them. He also issues a distinguished call to men of the church to lead, not out of title or power, but out of praise to Jesus Christ.
In 1 Timothy 1:5 Paul writes to Timothy, urging him to love with a pure heart, good conscience and sincere faith. These qualities allow us to serve out of a genuine love of Christ and not one of self. Are you serving Christ out of Paul's charge or for what you can get?
As we kickoff the latest sermon series at Engage, titled 'Apprentice', Pastor Adrian delivers a potent message about the importance of caring for others in our journey of faith.
Love is missing in our generation. We all seek an unconditional, agape love, which we understand inherently. We search in vain to find such love in our own flesh when the truth is, only God can provide what we seek.
This Sunday, Billy Humphrey, the newest member of the Engage team, delivers a powerful message rooted in Luke 15. In this scripture Jesus gives the parable of the prodigal son where two distinctly lost brothers, through their own father, are shown the matchless love of our Heavenly Father.
How many times have we heard these words recited during a wedding ceremony? "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." Beautifully spoken, to say the least. But how often do we fully examine this passage and what God is communicating to us through it? In week 3 of our 'So Loved' series, Pastor Adrian delivers a compelling word to do just that.
Love is a word that can invoke many different reactions. Some good, some bad, depending on the perspective. In the second installment of our new sermon series, 'So Loved', Pastor Adrian expounds how the height, the width, the length and the depth of God's love is not circumstantial, rather it is actually invariable.
Love is a word that can invoke many different reactions. Some good, some bad, depending on the perspective. In the first installment of our new sermon series, 'So Loved', Pastor Adrian dives into the book of Hosea where we are given a glimpse of how deep God's love for us is.
In His resurrection, many of Jesus' followers did not recognize Him as the man they had followed to the cross. As His followers today, we also fail to remember Jesus for who He is. We wish Him to be what our preferences hope for and miss the reality of His true identity as Lord and Saviour.

On Palm Sunday it is important that we recognize the significance of the triumphal entry described in Luke 19. It is at this moment that Jesus establishes Himself as king; a king who would rule like no other; not to conquer nations, but the hearts and minds of those who would follow Him.
God's plan for reconciliation had Jesus paying the debt of sin that we were unable to pay. We can now be reconciled to God and men.
The greatest scandal the world has ever known was when an innocent, righteous man gave his life to justify those who were not worthy of it.
The cross is a multifaceted jewel, producing beauty from every angle from which it is perceived. In our series Flawless, Pastor Adrian will examine and communicate the implications of the different facets of the cross on our lives. This week we will be peering into the portion of the cross that offers freedom to those who believe.

For us to accomplish great things, we must give our absolute best; we must push all of our chips to the middle of the table. In order to truly follow Jesus, we must follow His example, leave self behind, and go "all in".
We conclude the 'My Emote Control' sermon series by addressing an array of questions regarding emotional health and spirituality with family therapist, Dr. Michael Zoda.
Often times, people limit the work of Jesus' gospel to having the ability to impact only the external aspects of our lives, such as our behaviors. Throughout this series Pastor Adrian will discuss the desire of Jesus to have His gospel not solely result in behavior modification. Jesus' hope is that it would penetrate every portion of our lives, especially our emotions and motives that drive our behaviors. We will see how spiritual maturity is impossible without allowing the gospel to impact and renew our emotions.

Any time the world has been changed, there has been someone who has been willing to reject the status quo and write new rules. God is consistently searching for people who are willing submit to him and his plans in order to change the world. Pastor Adrian will guide us through the Word to extract principles used by new rule makers.

At the beginning of the year people are always making New Year's resolutions. Today, Pastor Adrian encourages us to not settle for behavior modification, but to accept Jesus' plan to revolutionize our entire lives. In our own strengths our resolutions rarely ever make it to the end of the year. Rather we should receive Jesus' finished work on the cross that allows and enables us to be changed at our core.
One of Jesus' names, all of which allow us to peer into the nature of our savior, is Emmanuel. When translated it literally means God with us. Jesus willingly stepped out of heaven to be with us, to be the example that we should all emulate. Today we explore Jesus Christ's example to us in how he taught us how to live, how to serve and how to suffer.
Christmas is a time when gifts are given and received. The greatest gift in history was when God sent down His son Jesus to the earth. This gift, however, has met up against the greatest opposition of any other gift in through all time. The greatest obstacle to receiving this wonderful gift is the perspective held by the receiver. We examine the difference between those who had a skewed perspective of Jesus birth which caused the gift to not be received, while also looking to those who waited in great anticipation for this life altering gift.
In our country today, true Christian belief has been, in large part, replaced by a hodgepodge of beliefs. Jesus' gospel message, at times, is in direct opposition to the belief systems at work in our culture. The question then becomes: At the end of your life where will you stand with Jesus based on His teachings?
What were you created to do? This question is posed by people of all ages, from the child in elementary school to the 45 year old who has been in the workforce for years. God has divinely created us in such a way that we flourish when we combine those inherent gifts and the needs of our society
Our culture today fosters the desire inside of us to idolize our occupation. We gain our identity through the significance that we attach to our occupation. The question is will we lay down our idols associated with our occupation and learn to receive our significance through the only one truly worthy of our worship, Jesus.
Our culture has a tendency to assign higher levels of dignity to certain jobs over others. The career of an executive is generally held in higher esteem than that of someone in a position of service. The truth is, all work is sacred before God.
In creation, God established the template for work. We are commanded to glorify Him in our works, and to take rest in praising Him.
This Sunday Pastor Clayton Bell delivers a powerful message addressing the aftermath of the events, which produce our scars. We are not guaranteed a life free of suffering. In fact, we are promised a life of trial marked by scars. The question we must answer is, will we be defined by, or refined by the trials in our lives?
In life, we all want good things, for ourselves and for each other. But what we perceive as good may not be what God has for us. Often our expectations do not align with God's plan. Our challenge is to embrace what's in front of us and seek God through it all.
Many times scars result from self-inflicted wounds. It's important that we recognize the significance of sin and the consequences they have on our souls. Our culture has a tendency to treat sin like a common cold, when really it's more like a cancer, which starts small, but spreads when left untreated, ultimately resulting in death.
Pastor Charles Kiefer joins us to talk about purpose in suffering. Contentment requires nothing of us, but trial and suffering forces us to grow beyond our current boundaries. Our challenge is not to rejoice for all circumstances, but to rejoice in all circumstances.
In the conclusion of our series, "Once Upon A Time", we finish the story with the restoration of mankind's relationship with God, delivered by Christ's life, death and resurrection.
Heroes earn their title. The ultimate hero is ultimately deserving, earning His stripes through trial, sacrfice and redemption.
We begin a new series this week titled 'Once Upon A Time', in which we uncover the most epic biography ever written; that of the One True God and his plan for humanity.
Confession. It's a word that stirs our soul. None of us want to show vulnerability, but sin seeks to isolate. Confession brings community, not only with each other, but with God. With confession comes humility, relationship and the life God intends us to live.
Often times we walk a thin line between humanity and the destiny God intends for us. We must be purposeful in our service and careful with our actions as we seek the Kingdom.
Do our lives reflect that of a christian? As one who lives like Christ? The evidence lies in our day-to-day.
Continuing our series in the book of James, we discuss the power of words and the impact they can have on our life and the lives of others.Continuing our series in the book of James, we discuss the power of words and the impact they can have on our life and the lives of others.
Human experience leads us to place things, and people, in categories. However, our human experience is one that leads us down treacherous paths. The Gospel leads us on a different path; God's path.
In light of recent events in the US, our message this week focuses on the way each of us can approach volatile situations with an unbiblical nature; a nature of posturing to appease our own emotion; a nature that is self-centered and not biblically focused.
When trials inevitably come in life, what is our response? Do we question God's purpose? Or do we trust in His masterful plan for our life?
As christians, we can become spirtual loiterers; remaining in one place when God intends for us to be continually moving forward, becoming more like Christ.
On father's day at Engage, we expand on three things each of us look to our dad to provide us with: identity, vision and trust, each of which we carry for the rest of our lives.
Titled 'Identity Theft', this week's message focuses on the contrast between two identities. Our initial identity, which is that of Adam, or as we call it, our fake ID, in which we seek significance in the flesh; and our destined identity in Christ, which is the only source of true fulfillment.
Many times we wander through life going our own way, when the only way to hit the mark God has set for us is to go His way.
What in our lives has become a personal Jesus? We seek security, approval, fulfillment in many things. But there is only one place we can find what we utlimately yearn for.

In a message titled "Compelled", Pastor Adrian describes what it means to die to self and how this death of self is made a reality in our own life.
In the conclusion of our Death of Silence series, we address the ultimate call on our lives as Christians… Which is to die to self.
Political correctness has become a device of silence. It prevents us from speaking out against evil and injustice. This week we delve into the ways it can bind us and hinder us from fulfilling our destiny.
With the fourth installment in our Death of Silence series, Pastor Adrian adresses the nature of fear, how it can paralyze us, and the way that God ultimatelyintends for us grow in it.
Religion can become an idol in and of itself. This week at Engage Church, Pastor Adrian talks about the stark differences between the Gospel and the religion of the Pharisees.
In continuing our sermon series titled 'Death of Silence', Pastor Adrian describes how our past plays a role in silencing our spirit and prevents us from moving forward.
On Easter Sunday, as we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, we at Engage Church call for the death of silence and its plague on mankind. Just as Jesus refused to be quiet, we, as christians, are called to take up His banner and carry it forward.
Pastor Kevin York joins us at Engage Church this week and delivers an outstanding message on devotion as the ruler of our affection and God's call for us to delight in our affection to Him.
