A man who suffered a cardiac arrest at the Holy Year Cross overlooking Clonmel earlier this month is alive today thanks to the quicky thinking of one volunteer and their access to a defibrillator. Liam Ahearne became ill at the Cross as a crowd of about 300 gathered there for the annual August Bank Holiday Monday Mass at the landmark. We are delighted to say he has recovered fully and joined us in studio this morning, along with the man who saved his life, John Walsh.
