Nintendo has again given us an annual reflection on our gaming habits through their year in review — except this time, they waited until January, so that December could be properly accounted for.

Ironically, my summary still had only eleven months, as apparently all of September came and went without me turning on my Switch 2 once. (September was also my slowest month in 2024, when I used my Switch for only one hour.)

The result: I played 39 games for 146 hours total — which is remarkably consistent with last year, when I played 40 games and 142 hours.

And to capture some of that data in a more readable format, here's a table charting my gameplay habits over the year:

| Month | Total Hours | Top Game | Hours | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Jan | 7 | It Takes Two | 2 | | Feb | 33 | Chained Echoes | 17 | | Mar | 12 | Ori and the Will of the Wisps | 5 | | Apr | 15 | Ori and the Will of the Wisps | 11 | | May | 13 | Child of Light Ultimate Edition | 4 | | June | 42 | Metroid Prime Remastered | 22 | | July | 1 | Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition | 1 | | Aug | 15 | Thimbleweed Park | 12 | | Sep | n/a | n/a | n/a | | Oct | 2 | Tetris Effect: Connected | 3 | | Nov | 4 | Mario Kart World | 2 | | Dec | 4 | I Am Dead | 1 |
