Today's message: Your Power to Choose
Deut. 30:19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants can live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life.”

Don't trade God's promise of inheritance to you for a temporary, short-term pleasure. Follow Jesus' example of delaying gratification for a long-term gain and eternal life.
Many, if not all, of us are thirsty for something--it could be fame, money, sexual pleasures, name it--just to be satisfied. Or, we could have the "right" goals but getting it in the wrong way, and that will leave us unsatisfied, unfulfilled, and climbing in the ladder but in the wrong wall. Only one thing can satisfy us, and that One is Jesus. He says, "Anyone who is thirsty may come to Me! Anyone who believes in Me may come and drink!" (John 7:36-38)
We are made to be human beings and not human doings. Find out more about how to be a human in the eyes of the Lord.
7-year old Timothy "Zion" Warden brings a relevant word to those who feel "ordinary" and unfit to be used by God. He highlights that God specializes in taking ordinary people and using them in extraordinary ways.
Even super-heroes do not seem all that super until they are transformed by their unique powers. Likewise, believers in Jesus are powerless "until" they get plugged into the Holy Spirit. Then an ordinary person common becomes extraordinary, as he effectively becomes an "extension cord" of power from God, at work on the earth.
Nowadays, you can easily find in the internet the top places to visit. Now, how about the top places where you can find God? A lot of people assume that finding God or encountering Him is only at a specific, spectacular place that only a few can go or experience. But God is not always where you think He is. Listen to this message and learn to seek and find God in the ordinary, everyday things.
It's Father's Day to all fathers and soon to be fathers! This message is for every fathers on their key roles as they learn about their major roles as the head of the family, for single men who are aspiring to build their own family.
People today come up with all sorts of excuses as to why they can't make an action. It is time to stop making excuses. Let's shift from a "palusotful" life (life full of excuses) into a purposeful life.
We already know about our real identity in Christ, how to level up as Champions, and not to run away but to run towards God. Now, let's be fully calibrated with the word of God, to hold on to His promises and be hardwired to Jesus!
You might have heard about the two farmers who desperately needed rain, and both of them prayed for it. But only one of them went out and prepared his fields to receive it.
You may not be a farmer and you may not have a literal field to prepare. Your field might be a struggle with finances, a sour marriage, a health challenge, new job, etc. The question is, "How do you, in an act of faith, prepare the "field" of your heart for rain?"
Life is a battle ground not a play ground and fairy stories were no longer meaningful. Thats why you wanted something REAL.
The Resurrection Sunday is a day when we commemorate and celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead. And just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, now we also may live new lives--Champion lives! (Rom. 6:4) This isn't just a doctrine to believe, but it is a TRUTH that should transform our lives.
The speaker of this message connected this popular hashtag #wokeuplikethis to our real identity in Christ. When we were made alive, risen in a new life with Christ, we suddenly woke up with a package of good things in store for us to CHOOSE to do (Ephesians 2:10). Even if we are on still on earth, in Christ, we woke up to a new citizenship--a citizen of heaven--we woke up to a new mission in life, we woke up a new Spirit. And that is why we can choose to do good things, purposeful things, because we woke up like this...like Jesus.
God is doing something this season. He said, "Behold, I am making all things new!" (Isaiah 43:18). Are you going to know God (be intimate) with Him and ride on in what He's doing right NOW?
We always identify ourselves with what we have, what we do and what do people say about us. But that's not who we really are. The truth is, we are what and who God says we are. Tune in to this message. Soak and believe in the truth of what your real identity in Christ is--the REAL YOU.
Offense, like all of satan’s trap, is a subtle, enticing bait to lure you into captivity. The objective is to destroy life, relationships, and happiness. Offense comes daily. It’s an inevitable fact of life. But you have the choice to take the poison or to refuse to drink it. You can make a conscious determination to live an un-offendable, offense-free life.
Traditionally a home consisted of a husband, a wife, and children. Today, however, many homes consist of only one parent and children. Listen to this message on what makes up a Godly home.
Most of us sense the desire to pray, and even want to develop a better prayer life, but we don’t know what to pray for. Listen to this message and let God guide you in your prayer.
We meet up with God to be successful in battle against the enemy in our lives. We seek His will and His strategy in our own "war room" (prayer).
Birth, not behavior, determines one’s identity. In Christ, we experience a new birth in the spirit. It marks us as God’s children. John 1:12 says, “But to all who believed him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God.” We are spirits. This is the real us. The state and condition of our spirits never changes. We have souls. This is where we have thoughts, emotions, choices, and will. We live in bodies. This is our physical packaging. (1 Thessalonians 5:23) Genesis 2:7 says, “The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.” We ask why we still sin even after we received Jesus. Why do we still show weakness when faced with temptation? The truth is once you have received Jesus and the Good News of salvation, it can never be forfeited. The Bible’s promises can be true for our spirit even if we don’t yet feel or experience them in our souls or our bodies. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come.” Our spirits have been saved. It is a done deal. We just need to trust in God’s finished work of grace. Our souls are being saved. We are works in progress. “He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it”. We just need to trust in God’s ongoing work of grace. Our bodies will eventually be saved. We just need to trust in God’s upcoming work of grace. Receive & recognize your newborn spirit. Acknowledge that you are a new creation. And keep submitting your soul to your spirit.
God wants YOU to be happy. In the 1st place, He is a happy God. And the Bible says , “as he is so also are we in this world” (1 John 4:17). Therefore we are happy like Him. However, because He is a gentleman and He has given us free will, God will not force you to be happy. So, choose to be happy. Happiness is a choice. We make the choice to rejoice! Just as no one or nothing can make you happy, no one and nothing can make you UNhappy, either. We cannot say we are happy when we are with the ones we love. We actually CHOOSE to be happy in that moment. We can also CHOOSE to be unhappy in that moment. Philippians 4:4 says, “Rejoice in the Lord always.” Take delight. Make merry. It is a proactive action. There’s a big difference between KNOWING ABOUT GOD and KNOWING GOD IN A PERSONAL WAY. We all long for intimacy or closeness. And we have this tendency to search for it in the wrong places. What we need most of all is to develop intimacy with the right person---God.

It’s not what you know; it’s who you know. Sometimes, this world does not honor educational attainment, career achievements, or social status. More often than not, it only recognizes who you are connected to. Connections pave the way to opportunities like scholarships, a slot in a particular job, and even a promotion. Yes, this seems unfair. But this world is not designed for fair. And come to think of it, when it comes to grace, we do not get what we really deserve. Psalm 103:10 says, “He does not treat us as our sins deserve, or pay us back for our wrongs.” Instead of punishment, He gives us mercy. Jesus, Who is grace personified, took the punishment for us instead. Therefore, it is good to get to know Jesus. Know that we have good connections with Him. From Him comes an endless supply of undeserved favor and blessings. 2 Pet. 3:18 says, ‘Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord.” That is the most important thing that He wants from us. He wants a relationship. The blessings will follow suit. Know Jesus as Healer, Rescuer, Friend, the Son of God. When we know Him and His attributes, then it’s easier to put our trust in Him. To remember means “to recapture the past”, “to come back to memories”, “to think about”, “to behold past events in the mind”. On the other hand, exploit means “a notable achievement, feat, or work”. Remembering is a mental activity. All that happens in life becomes part of the memory. It is a very simple task of the brain but it has a tremendous effect in the quality of your life. Never underestimate the power of remembering. What you frequently remember (keep on thinking about or focusing your mind on) affects the quality of your living. The quality of your thinking leads you to right living. The good news is that we can control our minds. God has given us free will – the POWER TO MAKE A CHOICE. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “… God has given us the spirit of power, love, and self-control.” We have a will to surrender our soul: our emotions, our will, and our minds (bad memories) to God, so we can become champions in life. Right thinking leads to right living. There are things to remember in order to live a victorious life. First, remember Who God is. God is omnipotent, rich, perfect, holy, and righteous. He is Healer, Redeemer, Savior, King of Kings, Prince of Peace and more. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. But He is not just that; He is also relational and unconditionally loving. (1 John 4:19) Read more: https://www.facebook.com/notes/sfcc-champion/remember-me-focusing-the-mind-on-the-master-his-exploits/10207008336158511
Daniel was a good role model. He was a Jew and at that time, taken captive by the Babylonians. But despite his situation, Daniel still stood out and was still chosen as a scholar. This is due to the fact that despite his being a captive and being under the decrees of a different leadership, he never forgot his God. In everything he did, he acknowledged the One True God. In Acts 9:5 Saul said, “Who are you, Lord?” Have you asked that same question yourself? This God is not a generic God. He is not common. He is the One True God. There are so many Bible scriptures that support that fact. John 17:3 says, “...the only true and real God.” Isaiah 43:10 says, “Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me.” Isaiah 44:6 says, “I am at the beginning and will be at the end. Prov. 3:5,6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, on your own intelligence rely not. In all your ways be mindful of him and he will make straight your paths.”
We all know that grace is the undeserved, unmerited favor of God. Other than that, grace is the power of God available to meet our needs without any cost to us. How do we avail of and enjoy the gift of grace? First, we must TRUST insted of trying. Read more: https://www.facebook.com/notes/sfcc-champion/keep-calm-lean-on-grace/10206848302677774
I'm pretty sure everyone has thought about that question at one point. But looking closely, we realize that no one is good, except God. Romans 3:10 says, "There is no one who is good; not one." Still not convinced? How about Isaiah 64:6: "We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags." So maybe our question should be, "Why do good things happen to bad people (like me)?" Read more: https://www.facebook.com/notes/sfcc-champion/why-do-bad-things-happen-to-good-people/10206801300182741

This weekend, nagging questions about the Bible, about God, Jesus, about grace, etc were collated and answered. Here are the frequently asked questions:
John 1:12 says “To all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” We are three-part beings. You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body. Genesis 2:7 says, "The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man's nostrils, and the man became a living soul.” When we received Jesus and His salvation, we were made whole, complete, & perfect. We still commit sin but our spirit remains unstained. Look at it this way: My spirit has been “saved”. Ezekiel 36:26 My soul is being saved. James 1:21 My body will be saved. Romans 8:23 Read more: https://www.facebook.com/notes/sfcc-champion/q-a-about-the-bible-god-jesus-grace-etc/10206701709173028
Everything in the Bible points to Jesus and what He has done in the cross. So when we read the Bible, read it through the lens of the cross. When your sight is blurry, get corrective lenses. In 1 Cor. 1:18, it says that, “For the word of the Cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
In studying the Word, always notice which covenant is in force. God never changes, but the ‘way’ He deals with man depends on the particular covenant-relationship. There are 3 main covenants of the Bible and each one shows how one could qualify for the presence & promises of God. In the Abraham covenant, what qualified him was his faith. This overflowed to his family & to his descendants. Therefore, the covenant is according to pedigree or bloodline. In the Moses covenant, it is according to performance. Romans 3:20 says, “No one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law command. The law simply shows us how sinful we are." But in the Jesus covenant, the qualification is according to one's position. So ask yourself, "Am I included with Abraham, Moses, or Jesus? Do I have the right pedigree, the right performance, or the right position?"
The Good News is that all those who receive Jesus via faith choice are saved. So what choice will you make? Are you "In Christ" or still "out"? Again, keep going back to the basics: Who Jesus is & what He has done.
God's Word is food for the soul. Reading it, meditating on it, and studying it is a lifetime habit. It is rife with fresh revelations everyday. Why do you need to study the Bible? Study the Bible to get to know God who loves you (yes, YOU!) so much. This is God's love letter to you. There is nothing you can say or do to make God love you more. He already loves you perfectly. But as you read the Bible, you discover & realize His goodness, His greatness, & the depth of His mercy---and surely, you will fall in love with Him. Being natural seekers, people look for answers to the existential question, "Who am I"? If we do not know how to see ourselves the right way, we will be believing a false identity about ourselves.
From the last of the series of teachings about IDENTITY. This topic will let you know your true identity in Christ! For the summary, click here: https://www.facebook.com/notes/sfcc-champion/nice-to-meet-me-too/10206551941828938
Have you really tried looking at yourself and finding out the real you? It is very important to know your real identity. The existential life questions are "Who am I?", Why am I here?", and "Where am I going?" Start getting to know the real you---the one who is identified with Christ. That is you. And as your self-image becomes clean and clear, so will everything else in your life.
How many sins must you commit to be called a sinner? The answer, surprisingly, is a big zero. The truth is that we are born sinners because of our bloodline which stems from Adam. It was because of what one man did (Adam) that we became sinners. It is not because of what we have done.
Birth, not behavior, determines identity. Behavior reveals identity but it does not produce it. We were born unacceptable to God. And sadly, our birth defects can never be solved by our good performance. But because of Jesus, we're reborn in right standing with Him.
Why is it important to have the right foundation? Storms are guaranteed in this lifetime. Luke 6:47-48 says, "When the floods come" and not "If the floods come". Having the right foundation will cause us to survive the storms and floods of life. Let Jesus be your anchor and all will be wll despite circumstances. It is also important to have the right foundation so that we can discern the truth. In the Bible, 'truth' means 'light'. The profusion of media inputs leaves us exposed to different doctrines and ideas. It is important to be able to filter these information and just embrace those which are true and acceptable.
Life is like a series of doors. These doors offer options or choices. The question is: HOW will you know which door to enter? How will you know the right choice in life? John 14:26 says, "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." We have a Guide, a Helper. We only have to tap into the Source of all wisdom.
We all have 'daddy issues'. No father is perfect. But if you yearn for your relationship with him to be fixed, forgive your earthly father. He may be an absentee father perhaps in the physical. He may not be attending to your emotional needs. A lot of fathers are not very good at displaying their affections and emotions. Some of you may have experienced being raised by an abusive dad. He may have hurt you physically, emotionally, verbally, or even sexually. This may have scarred you for all your life, but there is one way to heal---forgive. One way to be able to forgive is to pray for his salvation. Let's accept the truth---Jesus is our only hope. Nothing you can do can change your father. Only Jesus can.

There are 4 things that a good father does. First, he teaches. Psalm 78:5-8 says, "He commanded our fathers to teach to their children, so the next generation might know (even children not yet born) and they in turn will teach their own children; so each generation should set its hope anew on God and not let God's works go out of their minds.” The goal is for every generation to know the will of God.

Growth is a process. It means to develop from a lower or simpler form into a higher, more complex, or advanced form. It is to mature or increase in size, number, value, or strength. In 1 John 15:8, it says, "My Father's glory is shown by bearing much fruit." If a fruit-bearing tree does not grow, then it won't be able to bear any fruit. That means the tree is not successful in achieving its purpose---which is to bear fruit. In the same way, it is God's will for all of us to become successful. Ephesians 4:12-15 says, “we shall become mature people, reaching to the very height of Christ’s’ full stature . Then we shall no longer be children…instead we must grow up n every way to Christ." When we succeed in different areas of our lives (marriage, work, school, relationships, etc.), we are displaying and giving back God's glory. When people ask you how you are, how do you respond?
In Psalm 1:1-3, it says, “Blessed is the person who does not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. Instead, he delights in the teachings of the Lord & meditates on it day & night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water bearing fruit each season. His leaves never wither & in whatever he does, he prospers.” In addition, Psalm 52:8 also says, “I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever.” Read more: https://www.facebook.com/notes/sfcc-champion/growth-progress/10206107423436256
Pressure is inevitable. The issue therefore is not on the pressure or on the source. The focus should be on learning to handle it when it comes. What you do under pressure is what makes the difference. It is what sets you apart from the 'common'. The 'common' do not handle pressure well.
2 Cor. 1:8-11, Paul says, “We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us. And you are helping us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks because God has graciously answered so many prayers for our safety."
There are 4 things that we can preach or recite to ourselves when pressure comes. First, remind yourself that. "I've been here before." It's not really your first time to deal with pressure. What you do is to recall how God has previously delivered you. In the book of Psalms, David constantly reminded himself of God's goodness in the midst of pressures. Satan will do anything so that you will forget God's faithfulness. Remember, this is NOT new to you. Confidently expect God to constantly cause you to emerge victorious.
Second, say to yourself, " It doesn't all depend on me." You are deeply loved and accepted by God. But your work, your contributions---they are really that important. Jesus already accomplished all the work. Paul said in 2 Cor. 1:9 “…we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God.” 1 Peter 5:7 Do not rely on your own efforts. Be thankful that you get to participate in God's purposes but know that whether we fail or succeed, God's plans will still push through. It's not up to you! Turn the pressure that you put on yourself into privilege. It's a privilege to obey and to serve Jesus. Know that God is pleased with you already regardless of your productivity.
Third, say "I'm better under pressure." Pressure creates power. Rom 5:3 says, “Let us also be full of joy…and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance.” James 1:2-3 says “Consider it a gift…when you’re under pressure…don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it (the pressures) do its work so you become mature, well-developed, not deficient in any way.” Some things can only be produced under pressure. A diamond is produced from ordinary carbon only when put under extreme pressure. So the next time you are under pressure, welcome it as a process where God is bringing out the diamond in you. Endure and realize the strength and potential you never thought you had.
Fourth, say, "I'm not really alone." The enemy puts pressure on us especially when in isolation. But God says, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deut. 31:6) Psalm 27:10 also says,“Even if my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will hole me close”
So the next time you feel the squeeze, get your head clear, and remind yourself: "I was born for this. Bring it on!" So keep calm & handle the pressure.
We are all born selfish. It is in our old nature. But Jesus died for us, and with His death, our old nature died with Him. Thus, we are now givers and not takers. Abundant giving results in abundant living. God rewards generosity if it is accompanied with the right heart. He does not actually bless the 'giving' or the amount, but He blesses the right heart or the attitude that goes with it. Hebrews 11:6 says, "believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him." He rewards in terms of material blessing. 2 Cor. 9:10 says, “God supplies seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources & produce a great harvest of generosity in you. Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God." God provides seeds for you to dispense and the breas He gives is for your personal consumption. When we are blessed to bless others, people see and taste te goodness of God. Read more: https://www.facebook.com/notes/sfcc-champion/giveology-20/10205988177055171
