This week, Pete Blank, former Disney University Leader, continues to break down his thoughts on Disney's Great Leader Strategy #7, which is "Actively Observe and React to the Performance of your Direct Reports - Take Time for Recognition, Coaching, and Counseling!" The sub-text of this strategy consists of the following:
- Don't tolerate poor performance or ignore performance issues, and weed out consistent nonperformers
- Greet people, pay attention to the environment, and be conscious of the impact of your presence
- Participate in and be be visible at Cast Member events
- Make a point of letting people know specifically what they are doing right
- Unleash the potential of each Cast Member - provide developmental opportunities
