A cyberattack on the Colonial Pipeline caused a ripple effect, not just on the gas prices, but how companies large and small, and both private sector and public, protect themselves online. The city of Akron experienced a cyberattack back in 2019, and Dan Horrigan knows all too well about the importance of security.

Mayor Horrigan joined the Ray Horner Morning Show for his usual Thursday visit, and he talked about how the city handled that attack and how they can prevent similar occurrences down the road. Horrigan says even though they are still building back out in terms of cyber security, they received first-hand education in how to better handle these situations.

The mayor also touched on the recent CDC guideline changes, which has trickled down to the state and local level, where many municipalities, including Akron, are dropping their mask mandates.
