The God Honoring Way
Scripture:  2 Samuel 6:1-15

In our Scripture passage, David is now serving as King. Israel has been a divided kingdom for many years. The twelve tribes of Israel are now united, and David is serving as King. He has been repeatedly victorious in battle after battle, as God has given great grace to Him and to the nation.  Yet there remains one thing that has not been accomplished: It is a GOD-HONORING matter of the utmost importance.

You see, David had fallen into an all-too-common mistake/sin: David had done the God-honoring thing in a man-made way. A God-honoring thing in a man-made way yielded man-sized results – and people got hurt.
