The Massachusetts Asian American Commission put out a statement in support of Black Lives Matter where they said: they “continue to benefit from the ‘model minority’ myth and our historic proximity to white privilege". This statement sparked outrage among other Asian Americans, including the Asian American Citizen Alliance, where they believe the statement to be inflammatory and divisive.
