Kahn, Smith & Collins seeks an early career or post-clerkship attorney to join our team.  We take pride in our high-quality work in labor and employment law.  We represent many of the region’s unions for teachers, firefighters, and other public employees, as well as private sector employees in many fields and crafts.

We seek an attorney to represent public employees in disciplinary matters and grievances, from investigation through administrative hearing, and then in the courts.  The attorney will also aid those public employees’ unions in litigation, legislative activities, and governance, as may be needed and may suit the attorney’s skills.

This opportunity is well-suited to an attorney interested in moving from a public employer to private practice.  Experience as a public defender (or as a prosecutor), in a county or municipal office of law (particularly with personnel responsibilities), with the NLRB, or as a non-attorney public employee (e.g., teacher, law enforcement, etc.) is valuable.  Clerkship in a trial or appeal court is also valuable.

Experience or interest in labor law and/or employment law is ideal. The position includes direct client contact and self-direction, a collegial and supportive atmosphere, and a competitive salary and benefits package.

To apply, please submit cover letter and resume to David Gray Wright, wright@kahnsmith.com.
