Jesus is also human.
Jesus is being named and revealed as the Christ, and Jesus is also sharing in our humanity. As the Christ, Jesus received the identity as the Son of God. In our baptism, we receive our identity as a child of God.

We do not go in the wilderness alone. We go in the footsteps of Jesus, we go as God’s beloved child, and we go with the presence of the Holy Spirit.

In his wilderness time, Jesus is being prepared for God’s work as Christ. In our wilderness experiences, we are being prepared for God’s work as followers of Christ.
