What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
This book is part of a series called You Are on the Air, with multiple authors. My book is number 19. I had a loose connection of needing a radio talk show host involved but the idea for a young woman who is heartbroken and rescues a dog came to me as I thought about what makes me feel better when I'm sad. It's my animals who comfort me, love me and need me.
Since I own miniature dachshunds and find the breed lovable, stubborn and funny, I knew I was going to incorporate a rescue doxie into the mix. The characters told their own story from there.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I needed a radio talk show host involved in my book in some way, so I made him the hero. The heroine was simply a compilation of some heartbroken young ladies I've known over the years and then she took on her own characteristics. I live in the area where this book is set, so it was easy to know the potential jobs and attitudes of people living here.
